I'm just missing one part. H&R used to make handi rifle barrels but for some reason they stopped. Does anyone know where I can get a .357 magnum barrel that isn't too expensive?
But as far as this goes I wanted to take a very affordable robust weapon that
>was affordable
>was easy to conceal in a bag
>was light
>and was able to take different types of game easily.
I settled on the 12 gauge because, heavy ammunition aside, it can take literally every species on earth and is so common even the most gun banning countries will allow it, usually.
I picked this H&R topper model up from a pawn shop for 65 dollars. It originally came with a 28in barrel but I cut it down to 18. It didn't have a butt plate so the store gave me the pad for free.
Inside the stock I have put:
> a leatherman squirt multitool
>a Gerber knife
>fishing kit
>(1) 12 gauge 3in steel shot Turkey load
>50lb test fishing line (10 yards)
>20 storm matches
>Flint (I drilled out the top plate screw to accommodate the Flint bar)
>3 pennies (for removing handguard, fishing bait)
I have (2) slugs, (2) 3in buckshot, and (1) #4 buck in the homemade side saddle.
I maybe spent 120 dollars on this and I feel it's probably the best hiking gun you can get. I'm trying to get a .357 barrel so I can more easily pair it with my colt SAA copy.

I also want to hear why you COD fanboys chose 500 rounds of 5.56 and a 3k AR as your BOG. This isn't escape from LA, how many fire fights do you expect to be in?

Because we have decent income and are able to set aside more than $125 for a rig we'll actually be proud to show people. Also:
>What are double taps?
>What are multiple combatants?
>What are engagements over 75 yards?
>What is suppression?
Should I keep going?

if you are in a shoot out that requires more than a mag of ammo you're dead.

>buying a gun literally to leave unnatennded in the elements that might possibly get stolen
>spending more that 200 dollars
I bet you don't even own a hipoint, snob.

Unfortunately your shotgun is up against a lot of scurry 3k salt rifles.
That being said I have an AK for me in case SHTF, a super up survivalist 10/22 and H&R pardner water fowl as party favors for muh nogunz friends and family.

It seems nobody is nice enough to tell you not to us a SB2 barrel with a SB1 receiver.
You can if you want, but don't come on here crying when it fucking kabooms and you can't jack off anymore.
>ps: When you get a proper receiver, try eBay. Barrels for different calibers do pop up. And H&R has never sold barrels directly I don't believe. They want you to mail the gun in, and they'd never give you a .357 barrel for a 12 gauge SB1 receiver.
This reminds me of that post apocalyptic abomination break action shotgun someone did.

Amazingly yes, the guy who shot it said the cat was harassing his quails so it wasn't some lackjaw hunting cats for fun

>how many fire fights do you expect to be in?
All of them.

>if you are in a shoot out that requires more than a mag of ammo you're dead.
Well you certain are, because rather than choosing to bring more than a mag of ammo you chose to bring 5 random 12ga shells.

When did the French get nuggets aside from Chaterault?

It appears that all of the noguns saw this thread first. They probably didn't know that there was such a thing as different receivers for the H&R shotgun vs the H&R handi rifle.

I was in katrina, guess how many shootouts I got in.
I also like to go camping, guess how much I like to eat game.
I think I'll stick with the 12 gauge, this isn't a movie Rambo.

The only problems I saw were cratering around the firing pin and the guy was using .22 hornet. .357 is a pretty low pressure round all things considered, it should be fine. I mean it's no different than buying one of those X-Caliber adapters.

With that reasoning almost every US soldier ever in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan would be dead.
Anyone have recent stats on rounds used for every confirmed kill?

>2. Can I put rifle barrels on a shotgun receiver?
>No. Rifle receivers can be fitted with either rifle or shotgun barrels. Shotgun barrels can be fitted only with other shotgun barrels.
