What's your favorite civilian subgun style gat /k/?
>Kriss Vector
>Scorpion Evo 3
>PS90
>MPX
>MP5 clone
>Thompson
>Uzi
>MAC
>etc
Hardmode:
>no AR derivatives
>no rifle caliber is better
Discuss, have caliber wars, talk about supression, get mad at Internet strangers

Pic related is an LWRC .45 pdw concept that hasn't been released yet. Takes ump45 mags. Looks sexy.
MPX is my personal choice
>AR/MP5 love child
>AR parts
>AR controls
>Quick and easy caliber change
>Accurate
>Short stroke gas piston
>Rotating locking bolt
>no malfunctions so far without cleaning, when introduced to dirt, sand, and snow.
>More features than an MP5
>Less expensive than an MP5
>>30250880
When vector 2 comes out that, for now P90
If I had the balls to spend ~$1700 on one of those Turk MP5 clones I'd much prefer that, but for the money this one is my favorite.
My only complaints are that it has a pretty bad trigger and is pretty ugly. Otherwise though it's dead reliable, very ergonomic, and accurate enough out to ~125 yards which is as far as I've shot it. I love my Cx4 and there are few other guns I've shot that I've had as much fun with.
>>30253007
Gen 2 vectors are already out
MP5/10
>>30255022
I stand corrected.
Good thing I've got a quarterly bonus check coming.
>>30250880
Out of all the ones I own the ump for shooting and looks Imo.
It is probably a tie after that between the vector, mp5 rs, and Scorpion evo
>>30255085
The upgrades from gen 1 really make a difference expecially in the trigger I am glad I waited for it
>>30255089
Are you law enforcement? Why does your UMP have a auto sear pin but no full auto selection?
>>30255157
Nope not Leo. It was built from a lower kit by hdps. It is semi auto
I'm workin' on it
>>30255200
Cool, I'd like to do a UMP and G36 from a USC and an SL8 just for the novelty, but it's so expensive.
MP5 since it is basically perfected at this point and the parts can be found anywhere in the world.
Second favorite would be MAC variants since they are just stupid fun. Im going to build a 9mm AR here shortly and I want to see how that will stack up against my MP5 and Mac
>>30255403
>mp5
>perfect
>No bolt old open
>Rollers fucking everywhere
>Worst internal shape to clean in existence
>$50 knock off mags $75-$100 hk ones
>destroys brass
They are cool guns don't get me wrong but they are far from perfect and I own one
Vz Sa23-26 series are pretty neat
Along with UZIs but they're kinda clucky
>>30255526
>No bolt old open
Yeah but it has hk slap which makes up for it. It might matter more if you plan to carry an MP5 into combat but most of the units using MP5s are magdumping into people across the room as part of a team
>Rollers fucking everywhere
2 rollers that need to be replaced rarely doesnt really make it an issue
>Worst internal shape to clean in existence
Ill give you this but its tiny enough that it doesnt annoy me
>$50 knock off mags $75-$100 hk ones
$8-$20 korean mags, $40 POF and HK mags are everywhere
>destroys brass
No it doesnt
>>30255627
I'm working on two right now
With original receiver pieces.
Btw if you want a sa24 kit e-sarconic has them for $70. Excellent condition stocks!
Oh, and where did you get your extra tubing?
MACs uzis tec9s all get me going
Its the stamped and welded steel
>>30255644
AR9 a cute! CUTE!
>>30255679
Nice, I do need one more kit.
Used some of the badly cut kits apex had, I believe stenparts has correct size tube if you need some.
Muh 9mm pewpews.

Is it strange that I know exactly who you are?
You have to show up to our next meetup
>>30256141
Yeah that would be a bit strange. Meetup?
>>30256189
The Colorado meetups
>>30256220
I am not in Colorado. Maybe someone has similar guns? Might be interested in driving out though.
>>30256237
My bad
I swear there was someone on the Colorado meetup list with the exact same setup on their MP5 and scorpion.
>>30255235
That's tits
>>30256279
Never been to one so it's not me. It would be about a 9 or 10 hour drive depending on where the meetups are at.
VZ 61, anyone know if those 32 cap cavitator s from legieh defense will feed properly in one?
>>30256006
What sort of jig did you use?
Right now I'm still in the 'measurements' phase
Btw clearview has sa26 stuff on sale.
Grab the armorer's kit - it's worth it!
Plus, original barrels for under $130.... With lots of extras
>>30255930
Glock Mag AR9 FTW
MAC 11 with a wood stock
I absolutely love the look of it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t3g5MvpclE
I prefer rifle calibre pistols imho
>>30255930

why not both ?

>>30255157
Just what the hell is going on here?
>Pistol Caliber
Im listening
>sbr
Shit! so close..
Well here is my chiappa. It's nothing special but It cut like butter at the ranger yesterday @ 15m.
>>30255930
TFW I am building that right now
>waiting on stamp
>waiting to buy rail because it's $200
I bought a cheapo $20 eBay rail for the time being. I'm also going to put a side charging upper on it eventually.
I bought some Samson fixed HK sights for it. Originally planned on Troy Micros but I got a pretty good deal on the Samsons so I rolled with it. I ordered a blitzkrieg chevron front sight post for it, am I retarded?
How are the MP5 clones? They're all at least 1200 and that's before you SBR or put a brace on them. I know having a gas system is neat and all, but worth?
>>30260030
It's a tried and true design.
I believe HK gave MKE the machinery to produce their MP5 clones.
All things considered, you probably wouldn't regret it if you don't mind buying something from Turkroaches.
I'm torn between this and an MPX.
>>30255235
Dang I want of those. How are you doing the semi conversion? Last time I looked there hadn't been a standardized process yet.
Sub2000 > everything else.
The point of a PCC is to be light and compact.
>>30260087
I heard those are shit, but with the proper aftermarket barrel they are pretty tits
>>30256006
Cz 23 series? Good choice
Any idea where to get closed bolt conversions?
>>30260229
The hell did you hear that? Do you even know what a sub2000 is?
>>30260229
nah they're pretty good stock
>>30260065
Only problem is with the transfer bar.
I'm going to mill out a channel on the inside - not the outside.
Then I'll take an extra sa26 fcg and plop it in the back, after cutting a hole for it
>>30260288
>>30260295
I meant something like this
https://www.redlionprecision.com/
Adds the ability to twist the barrel the other way when folding it. If you have an optic, it would be handy to twist the barrel instead of having to take the optic off
>>30260499
Gen 2 exists, and that's the forend, not the barrel. The mlok sections presented a better solution where only the sight rotates neatly out of the way instead of the whole thing.
>>30250880
Mp5/10 Clone at the moment. I believe that the new Kriss Vector will replace that in the near future. For any other Caliber UMP 45 WINS.
>>30255655
As an mp5 owner I can tell you're lying about brass. The HK design does not like brass
>>30259346
Stanag with follower and spring removed installed in the ejection port.
9mm carbine so quiet and has same ballistic as .357mag out of 3.5" barrel. Why you want to SBR it? 16" barrel is nice.
>>30260557
The fuck does that work?
>>30261098
Why, and how?
>>30261194
I'm guessing it's just a shell catcher? IDK.
>>30261191

>>30255085
Can somebody (who understands physics) explain how the mechanism reduces recoil?
'equal and opposite' reaction means their force vectoring thing can't work, no?
>>30261210
Long story short, it doesn't and is a marketing gimmick.
You young whippersnapper's gonna let an old man play too?
(I shot this at a "fun" stage at a recent IDPA match; I didn't even end up that bad off)
>>30261210
When you shoot it the bolt moving down counteracts the muzzle rise leading to less muzzle climb during fa fire
>>30261253
Thought so.
>>30261258
That's at least believable, but not my recollection of how they market it.
Thanks to both.
B&T APC9 is likely the nicest I've handled so far.
Not very pretty, but damn solid and ergonomic.
>>30252955
>MPX is my personal choice
Disappointing how it kicks gas everywhere, even though it's a friggin' piston gun.
thread needs a little 9mm AR love
I got this, its a literal brick, weighs more than my FAL at a comfy 12lbs without the loaded drum but the fins made a neato subgun lemme tell ya
>>30250880
>>30250914
Looks sexy
