So after San Jose and the mass censorship on Google/Facebook/etc lately, a lot of folks are looking to (or should be) arm themselves.

That being said, two phrases I often hear uttered are "it's too expensive" or "I don't know where to start". So /k/, for the normies looking to dip their toes, lets discuss some budget defense/ entry options and general good practices for fledgling /k/ommandos.

Get a used or new S&W J or K frame(3-500, 600 plus for some k frames and finer j-frame) revolver, Charter arms .44 special bulldog(360-400)
Used S&W 9mm, 596/5906 etc series, wonderful fucking guns and you can find them pretty cheap at a lot of places, try some LGS/pawn shops and gunbroker.
Shotgun, probably a marvick 88 or Mossberg 500, normal pump or cruiser.
Surplus guns like hipowers/feg, Jerichos and Makarov/polish-P. Maybe a LCP and LCR are good, haven't used any, but held a LCP at my FFL, I have markers that weight more then that thing.

I'm still waiting for these protestors to inevitably shoot up a Trump convention or bomb one, then I want to see how the Media deals with the utter hypocrisy and irony these leftist liberals so love to preach. Because right now, they're making Trump supporters out to be victims in all this, real dumb tactic on their part.
>>

I've got the Ruger and it works great. The only failures I've had were from some cheap Brown Bear ammo that had about 3 duds in one box. Never buying that stuff again.
>>
i can buy an AR and a little ammo, or I can buy a ruger 10/22 and plenty of ammo, and some accessories. My girlfriend likes to go to the range and shoot my pistol. The gun will be for mainly shooting at the range.

My gun experience is with my 9mm, Will the ruger with high capacity mags be enough in a san jose, idiots fighting in the streets situation?
i don't mind buying an AR but investing a ton in bullets when I go shooting for two people every week can get expensive. Help me out here!

If you're in a city the best budget choice would either be an 8+1 shotgun or some full size 9x19 pistol. Preferably both as you'll need a pistol in a vehicle.

i concur. i paid $275 for an LCP custom, which has a better trigger than the original, and daily carry it. mags are expensive, but you really will want to get the 7 rounder for the grip extension and the +1 over the factory mag. i threw talon rubberized grips on it, and it is actually comfy to shoot 200 rounds through
>>
How about the EAA? anyone use that? It kinda looks neat

>>30167947
I guess one thing I'm struggling with the LC9 is that it just looks tiny and it's doesn't look appealing to me, but since I kinda need one I can't be too picky.
>>
>>30165965

I carry a kahr erry day and love it.

I have an mk9 though, the reason being mostly the night sights and all steel frame /w wood grips make my dick tickle.

unnoticeable in iwb, and just small enough to pop into my shorts for Pocket carry.

I've shot their really cheap 380 mouse gun and the cw 9 with no complaints. one day I'd like a k9 and t9.

worse I can give it is a 8/10 from the unusual trigger pull and expensive mags and parts.

most LGS in the area can't keep the LCP custom in stock, only other place had it at $320.

Someone came out that the facebook "trending" spot, i.e. the news for hundreds of millions of people, if not over a billion, is carefully selected by facebook employees who look at the "trending" statistics, blacklist conservative/right wing articles that are popular, and also add in left wing articles which aren't even close to being trending.

tl;dr the biggest news stories, like the "most trending" on twitter are hand selected to push facebook's world view

What up, so I just got a FEG Hi power copy of Buds for only 300 Dollarydoos and evidently the gun came from Isreal

There was literally no markings on the gun aside from "FÉG - MADE IN HUNGARY" and what looks like a label from a home made labelmaker in Jew Runes (pic below) If anyone here could read them that would be great

Also I guess thread to discuss operating with hi powers (im gonna shoot a tactical two gun match with it and a AKMS), as well as weird guns the Israelis used.
>>
>>30168641
>BUDS
>>
>>30168641
sage for offpost, I meant this as a thread

But the FEG hi power is just abosolute sex for just $300 bucks

I would also suggest to people, especially if their autists about military history to get a makarov, especially of the Bulgarian variety.

I Remember I took it out to a Steel challenge match and the second time I shot it I made T zone hits at 10 yards and I have probably put 1000 rounds through it, and not one malfunction, and at 7 yards standing you can shoot one ragged hole groups of a magazine (8-9 shots) with any moderate amount of skill
>>
>>30163660

>S&W 59 series

Great guns if you like really wide boat anchors. Horrible for carry.
>>
>>30168670
a model 39 would probably work better, but its limited capacity being a single stack (at least it works which counts for a lot in the sub $400 range)
>>
I just took the following prices from buds which doesn't have the best deals but it's average enough.

S&W M&P Sport 2
$616.97

Glock 19 Gen 4
$558.26

Mossberg 590SP w/heat shield 9 shot
$419.21

Literally pick one, buy a spare mag or two or a side saddle for the 590, ammo, and a holster or sling.

Regardless of what you picked you now have a capable if vanilla firearm which has parts/magazine/ammo comparability with a ton of other firearms used by both police forces and civilians. And to some extent NATO militaries such as ours in the US depending on which you chose.

Any of the three will keep you from being completely defenseless but are still good enough once you get more gear to support them.
>>
>>30165965
I have a Ruger P95. Although discontinued the fucker never quits. It is a good start for a gun. I haven't any experience with the other two you mentioned.
>>
>>30168776
This is all true.

Used glocks show up all the time on Classic, and west coast non California gun shops routinely seem to get batches of those same glocks in. They start around 340-400, and especially if you can fingerfuck one in shop, can be a real bargain.

>>30162364
As a owner of a 9mm hi-point... Shit, this is embarrassing. But honestly, no bullshit, this thing is unkillable. Absolutely unkillable. I have dropped it in rivers, down cliffsides, deliberately dropped it in sand/mud/dustpits and overall tried to make the thing die. Surpisingly accurate as well. Barrel afixed to frame is damned forgiving for point/shoot.

It was a gift when things were shitty, and I have replaced it with much better things over the years... and then I can't make the thing malfunction outside of some caveats listed below. Make no mistake, this is a $150 cheap ass handgun with no real features that's huge and heavy as hell. But for what it is, it's a surprising deal.

Caveats: Once you buy/get gifted one, expect to spend some time buying magazines and fiddling with same to get a mag/gun combo that works. This is fairly easy since customer support is pretty much 'send back problem mag with receipt however many times it takes'.

Do NOT expect to disassemble it for detail cleaning short of a small gunsmith shop. They are designed and built to be tanks for a couple thousand rounds and not get heavy maintenance.

It will feel cheap. Taking sandpaper or a dremel to the grip mold lines and other raised casting/forming blemishes for comfort is highly recommended.

Do not expect it to be easy to find conceal carry options. It's huge and heavy, and the only CC upsides are the generally rounded edges of the slide.

I have a Ruger P95 DC which is the decock only variant. Slide is also stainless and I thought all the stainless models had a K in the name but either way I can also verify the reliability. Trigger is mushy as hell but its not terrible. I have no idea what the fuck Ruger is doing these days with their "American" pistol. Seems like a big chunky ugly striker fired pistol. Uglier than Glocks even though I like Glocks. I guess they want the fudds who are finally upgrading their arsenals thanks to Obama

New to the world of /k/
Went around town browsing the local gun shops and came away with the following options:

Mosburg 500
Mosburg 590
Remington 870
Legacy/Escort - Tactical (preowned and pic related for under $400, like new)

I've fired a few 20 and 12 guage shotguns in the past. What would be your recommendation /k/?

AR is a system of interchangeable parts. You can easily upgrade as needed. If you have one rifle it's a great starter.

Every American should have an AR-15. Just get a cheap one, most people who aren't hobbyists probably won't put more than 100 rounds through it their whole lives.

Alternatively, a pump shotgun such as Mossberg 5xx can be had for much less.

If every willing home had one of these two arms we wouldn't be sitting here wondering if/when the anti-trump mobs will start burning houses and murdering people in the streets.

Oh for fuck's sake

Semis, especially the cheaper ones we're trying to get the noguns to buy, are nowhere near as reliable as pumps.

Plus, you can bet your ass more people will be able to operate and maintain a pump over a semi.

Plus they're cheaper.

Personally I'd go with Mossbergs, but that's all preference. Ignore the memelords, they're all generally good and will get the job done. The rest is details.

Look at each one, where the safeties are, the features(Remington has that dust flap that I find annoying) etc.

Go to a shop and pick one up.

Mossies have an aluminum receiver, the others are steel.

I've heard some guys say they like that "solid" feeling, others like the lightweight.
