Arent those weapons Sturmgewehr 44? How do they find them?

>>
Old news. They got them off the Russians IIRC, who had containers full of captured ones since the 50s.

From Russia or leftover from Yogoslav wars. Primarily transferred from Hungary to Serbia and albania, so on and so forth. Arms trafficking and whatnot
>>
They have actually seen some use during and after the Cold War, it's kind of cool to see such an old and dated workhorse being pulled out of storage to once again fight, even for a completely different cause and people.

It's a bit of a clunker even compared to an early AK or AKM, but hell, it still shoots, and Libyan and Syrian rebels have been seen to have the sense to actually fire their AKs in semi-auto, and that's the best way to use the old Sturmgewehr.

>>30154403
Wasn't there some Slav country which actually issued them after WW2 for a time? I think some of them came from there too.

But then there was of course the dissolution of Yugoslavia, where all kinds of old hardware got dredged up and used
>>
>>30154357
If you plan on getting one be sure to not travel by bike.>>30154403

good luck finding ammo.
>>
>>30155393
Ah, now I remember, Hungary issued them for their paratroopers for quite a while, I believe that's where the ones in Libya most likely came from.

Man, that was fucking beautiful, it warms your heart to see a people rise up against their oppressor and knock him over, I love that they beat Ghaddaffi with shoes.
>>
>>30155452
They had fucking shipping containers full of the guns, they also had shipping containers full of ammo, its just more plentiful over there than here in the states dumbass.

I hope this is sarcasm. If you genuinely believe kicking out Ghaddaffi was a good thing you're a retard.
>>
>>30155483
have you ever seen any of the isis videos where they just shoot? like hundreds of rounds aimlessly fired off. they dont have a cheat code to refill their ammo stock. stop playing cawwa doody.
>>
>>30155492
I'm not saying the end result was amazing, but he deserved to get lynched.

>implying ISIS is the only one using the STG's

He was a good leader that actually did something good for his country and wasn't a full retard dune coon like the guys in the middle east. The whole overthrow of him was failed foreign policy by crooked Hilary.

Lots of people in Libya and Syria uses old surplus Sturmgewehrs, not just the Daesh.

In Iran, the 7.92x33mm cartridge actually sees some popularity with civilians as they can't have 7.62x39mm weapons (military caliber), so there's a source of this ammo in the middle east, as well, the 7.92x33mm cartridge actually sees sporting use still in Europe, it's one of those medium sized cartridges that just ended up being very fitting for some hunting and target shooting.

Now, in the US, sure, there isn't a particularly large supply of it, because weapons in it's caliber were never really there, so you mainly only see very limited sales of Prvi Partizan brand ammo, for the odd person who actually has a transferable Stg44 (or a replica) and wish to shoot it some. PPU probably sees the most sales of it in Europe, just as an example.

And it's also not even talking about old Nazi German supplies of it that got smuzzled away back in the day.

Sounds like socialism, doubt it actually worked.

Apparently there were multiple attempts to bring them over as parts kits to the US before the civil war, but Obama had none of it and wouldnt allow then to be imported
>>
>>30158383
subsidies are good. They ensure constant supply and keep prices low on commonly-used goods.
>>
>>30155393
East German forces had a lot of StG.44 when first formed.

They also cripple a country's economy and make shit extremely expensive for the costumer on the long term
See: Argentina

>>30158771
Makes sense, perfectly good rifles, so why not use them?

Likewise, the P38 design was reused in West Germany, as the P1 and P4, same gun, but aluminum frame and slight tweaks.

Argentina is full-on "Bread and Circuses" subsidies. They're Obama-phone subsidies.

Giving educated people the tools to build industry is proper subsidy. Granting an industry a few extra bucks for following directions to make sure they don't cut corners and fuck over the economy next year is a proper subsidy.

If it weren't for subsidies, our corn supply (and therefore 99% of what you buy in the supermarket) would be fucked.

They didn't really knock him over, they were trapped in a city and getting slaughtered by his forces surrounding it until Europe stepped in, followed by the US.
>tfw I was assigned to support those attacks and didn't think it was going to be useful to us even then
>and I was right, soon enough we were on alert again because it destabilized things so much that Benghazi was able to happen
They didn't kill him by lynching >>30155522, they shoved a knife up his ass after NATO forced him out of his hiding hole with a bomb and he was caught. I think his sons were killed before that.

The whole Arab Spring was a fucking terrible idea. Savages deserve a harsh dictator to keep them under control, especially since with a vote they elect Islamofascists who work against the West. Ghaddafi at least knew better than to try that shit since Reagan slapped his wrist in the 80s and had been on good behavior about not sponsoring terrorism.

Corn subsidies are mostly present on account of ethanol lobbying. Ethanol is a fucking terrible idea that uses more energy than it produces. We don't need to be growing as much corn as we do and could be using that land to grow or raise other products.
