So in the days of the police revolver (and by extension I guess civilians buying revolvers for defense because "hey if they're good enough for cops they're good enough for me") did .38 Special have any serious alternatives (like 9mm has .40 S&W, .45 ACP and .357 SIG). I know .357 Magnum was used but it was considered just a powerup for the most part that was used for certain tasks and roles.
Police are civilians.
I have no idea, but I fucking loved Rocko's Modern Life.

Apart from jumping up to a 44spl/44mag, not particularly.
You're more of a professionals here I guess.
So I decided to try high stress - durability exercise, where I get only 5 hours of sleep per night and do everything else as normally (Train study, cold showers, etc), kind of like home version of military training.
For the last 2 days I've been getting small(ish) scabs on my face (3 scabs, 1 or 2 could be herpes).
I'm getting positive mental and emotional thoughts though, I feel as if I'm personally developing
My question is, should I discontinue the experiment, wait few more months...

So my GF went gun shopping with her dad. She knows jack shit about guns, but I didn't know if her dad knew anything.
They call me after shopping, and my GF asks if I want a free 9mm. Of course, I say yes.
"Ok. We got one called a hi-point for you."
She got a sig sauer p938. Her dad bought himself a glock.
Is he trying to kill me? Is the 'hi points explode' thing a meme? I'm going to be polite and accept the gift, but should i ever shoot the thing? I do not currently own a handgun, so I was really excited, but I don't...

it won't explode. it's a hi-point, it will just run. nothing fancy, i'm not sure how picky they are with ammo if it all, but it will just run.
it's a moped gun.
also, even if somehow manage to break it, hi-point will fix or replace, almost no questions asked.
>>29161058
It'll run.
>>29161058
>dad goes out of his way to get you a gun
>you bitch about it
grow up child. My dad doesn't know shit about guns and bought me a Taurus judge because some dick of a clerk swindled him into getting a "shotgun revolver" and I fucking love it. Its a present and worse case scenario you trade it for something else. At least the dad knows what hes doing, they could have all come home with hi points and he must like you enough to get you a free gun

Hi /k/ I'm actually from your sister board /out/.
I had a gun pointed at my face recently and figured some of you might have had similar things happen and thus the reason you armed yourself and browse /k/.
I need some advice how you dealt with it and I'm sure there are people had way worse experiences but to have a aggressive person you don't know threaten you and point a firearm in your face is not pleasant.

Qhy would you buy a clone of an already dirt-cheap gun?
>>29159148
FEG clone? I've seen them go for like $300. I was thinking about getting one, cerakoting it, removing the disconnector and keeping it in the glove box. You know just a truck gun to beat up and have some fun with.

Stop reading terminal Lance comics. I was one and only read them when you kiddies post them.
BTW we all get GI Bill if honorable discharge. I did 4 years, got a degree and currently a 75k job.

>let's take this tactics developed by the US muhreens for concentrated, high value naval targets and use it for general CAS against shit like artillery guns

Why were the Nazis so...out there?
They were an evolution of the British concept of a "Trench Fighter", an aircraft designed to attack hard to hit targets with higher accuracy than a conventional flat-flying bomber.
The Germans simply had the first opportunity to refine this technique before WWII in the Spanish Civil War.
>>29158264
That's racist.
I'm a Marine and havnt committed suicide. Yet.
Looking at the fact that Stukas were the only bomber type with an accurancy worth a shit in WW2.
They were pretty good.
>ITT: Discussion of the word "Assault"
Was getting ammo yesterday when I happened to over hear some hipster shit ask to see an "assault rifle". With mounting curiousity I poked my head over the shelf and saw him pointing at a fucking .22lr(or mag who knows) SCAR. Being with a bad mood that day because I found out i over paid on a coin, I approached him and began a fakingly-friendly course of questions
>[After numerious light hearted questions] So, why makes you think this is an assault weapon?
Well...

>Was getting drink for Sturm yesterday when I happened to see some communist shit ask to see an "assault gun". With furious hatred I poked my head over the trench and saw him pointing at a fucking T-34 (or Turret who knows) Tank. Being with an unacceptable blitzkreig mood that day because I found out the French made better reversing tanks than us, I yelled at him and began an onslaught of superior facist remarks
>[After numerous light hearted very funny German jokes with Sturm] So, why makes you think communist medium tanm is assault gun?
>"Well look at it you dirty Facist, it has Stalin-grade written all over it. Look at the assault handle on the side here. [In which he pointed to the infantry protective mechanism] This is what makes it go to full armour with only a few men lost
>Great German Officer's MP-40 drops and his eye brows start to heil the fuher
>GGO starts to shout words of great heroism at the guy how much war experience he has and to try and guess the penetration of the gun he is mounting
>Facist bastard, this 76mm gets 300mm of penetration. Enough to kill Tigers.

Is this a thing?
I want to get started in reloading and I'm a little overwhelmed by everything I don't know. Is this a good price and kit to start? https://www.midwayusa.com/product/423081/lee-challenger-breech-lock-single-stage-press-anniversary-kit
If I get the above kit, I need a die set, a manual, brass, powder and bullets?
Anyone know any good books or manuals? Complete guides for noobs online? Most guides I see seem to be pushing products.
Reloading general then. . .
>Lee
Nope

Why? Is this better? http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/165028/9365/rcbs-rock-chucker-supreme-basic-101-kit
Are die sets interchangeable across brands?
OP, what are you trying to reload?
I have the lee anniversary kit and picked up a rcbs electronic powder measure. I use the Lyman manual. It pretty much has most of the stuff I need recipe wise.
Is it normal for your ears to ring even after you leave the range?
My ears always have a ring, range or no range.
It is not normal and I've been on a range with people shooting 50bmg all day. I do notice that the pitch of sound is "out of tune" when I listen to music on the way home after a long day of shooting.
