Is 24 a good age to start a career within the Royal Marines? Apparently after 2 years as a GD marine you get pinged into a specialization that the corp needs, is it possible to choose one you actually want to do?
Are you fit?
Are you *reeallllly* fit?
You can't ever be fit enough.

>After two years as General Duties Marine developing a range of commando skills, you will then train in one of the specialist jobs. These include Metalsmith, Assault, Engineer or Mountain Leader. Display your leadership potential and you’ll start moving up the ranks. And when you show the right commitment, skills and academic ability you could also have the chance to become a...

>Is 24 a good age to start a career within the Royal Marines?
People have passed the course at the age of 30+, its all down to grit, determination and preparation. As for a specialisation you will need to ask for it, they won't force you into being a cook or something.

My friend got put into working in the supply store without him wanting it
You must survive the zombie apocalypse with only 2 weapons to start with and a backpack with 3 days worth of shit in this environment.
What weapon do you pick /k/?
>>29321081
Phaser and lightsaber
Suppressed Ruger 10/22 with night vision scope and a good knife -- as a tool, not for zombie-chopping.
Decent sized fighting knife and UMP 45
What weapons would you use to kill or defend yourself from
a vampire ? Assume it's the classic "Dracula" type.

Why are snipers/squad marksmen always the smug bastards?

it's like posting on 4chan
you can get away with for a long time then some guy who doesn't like you pops you in the back of the head at the range
>>29320092
Why are you making baseless assumptions?
Who wouldn't feel smug when you can sit scratching your ass 800m away from the action and just wait for some poor sap to show himself for too long?
Hello,
Im curios of how well the .300 blackout fairs with larger game such as Elk or WildBoar.
For elk the legal minimum energy bullet is 2700 joule at 100m. Can I load .300 AAC to that level of energy?

Since you are yuro or a canuk, I'm assuming you took physics in school. Why don't you look it up and do some math?

How does /k/ deal with mice?
Discovered that I have one of them in my loft and there's probably a better option than a regular mouse trap with cheese on it.
>cheese
try walnuts instead
or a cat
>>29319638
Does chocolate work? I think I read that on here once
Peanut butter. It works much better than cheese cause it sticks to the trigger.
Also it is never one mouse so set like 3 traps.
Would you rather be in the muddy, cold trenches of the First World War or be in the muddy hot jungle of Nam?
>>29319562
The 'nam of course, what kind of question is that?
You serve your 12 months and go back home, if you are not black or retarded you can spend these 12 months fucking hookers far away from the jungle. In WW1 you get sent to the front over and over again until you die/get crippled/war ends.
Also gas attacks, rats, stone age-tier medical service etc.
>>29319562
Nam.
At least I get to ride in a chopper.
>>29319562
I have an above average IQ and blue eyes, so NAM. I will spend the entire deployment in a public affairs office or a supply room in Saigon, getting blow jobs from QT Asian loli.
Take a moment to praise our lord and savior.

Fav film/TV depiction Punisher '04, Warzone, or Daredevil Season 2?
I haven't seen daredevil yet but I love Ray Stevenson's portrayal
>>29319478
Punisher '04 was the best film of the bunch, just due to how entertaining it was-- plenty of respect for Thomas Jane, but it just didn't FEEL like the Punisher to me. It was more like a weird cross between Death Wish and Evil Dead 2.
Ray Stevenson's take on Frank was spot on. He fucking nailed it, but unfortunately the script, the direction, the rest of the acting, just about everything else with the movie was terrible. Making it properly R-rated was the right choice, and it had a few great...

best weapons for zombie apoc?
>>29318124
What kind of zombies?
>>29318124
For melee? Pry bar and a good knife.
Ranged? 5.56mm would work fine, though I think one of the zombie survival guides suggests .22 because it's cheap, common(or was when they first wrote it) and is enough to put one down, but personally I'd want something that works on humans since, if The Walking Dead has taught me anything, I'll spend more time worrying about humans than zombies.
>>29318124
22short and nothing else because why would you need to carry any other guns besides a 22short?
Been thinking about getting one, anybody own one or recommend it at all?
On a related note, how good is the SADF chest rig for a basic minimal SHTF setup?
Es gucci
>>29317838
Yes. Have had one for 6 years, used it in the army because my country`s issue vest was shit at that time. It is everything you want in a combat vest.
M83 Chest rig is a really good alround rig, can fit a bunch of different magazines, everything is basic and simple.
Some people complain about the mag pouches only having velcro, but if you want buckles or something just sew them on.
/k/, I'm looking for a starter gun that tries to be cheap but durable, and fires the cheapest possible ammunition.
I intend to practice a lot, because otherwise why bother having a gun? So I figure ammo's gonna be my main cost. But I'm having a hard time figuring out which gun offers the best combination of price, durability, and cheap ammo.
Please help!

What does /k/ think of the Simpsons gun episode (The Cartridge Family)? Accurate satire?
>>29317699
It's great laughs. It's also a cartoon meant to be light hearted. Don't over think this.
Did they ever go deeper with Marge keeping the gun? It's been years since I watched the old seasons.
>>29317773
Marge did keep the gun at the end, and used it when Snake broke in to the house.
