I'm thinking about getting a 1911 for my first non-22 firearm. Should I go with a .45 or a 9mm?
Any 1911's that are nice? looking for something simple and reliable, that's all, none of the fancy shit.
Pic related.

There's no need to do it anon.

Add 5lbs of lead shot to the stock.
So /k/, have any of you ever gone into the middle of nowhere and shot a COMPLETELY LEGAL full auto when no one was around? How was it? What legal full autos did you shoot?

Dear ATF, please stop trying to bait people. Its over.

I once shot a burst fire M16 while in ROTC.
They were blanks, but it was still fun as hell.

My first try at 308... Kind of hurts when the projectiles cost more than my 75gr precision 223 loads... I don't have any dedicated 308 powder so hopefully cfe223 will work until I pick up varget, re15, or imr4064...
My last regular loading for .308
168gr SMK
Turk surplus brass
Win Std Lrg Rifle
40.2gr IMR 30-31
COAL 2.800"
Last load I made today
9x18 Mak
93gr Cast round nose
Starline brass
CCI small pistol
3.2gr Titegroup
COAL .950"
Bought these fucking 93gr thinking the were some kind of Russian surplus FMJ. Pretty neato for cast.
>>29351637
My normal .308 load
>155gr Berger VLD 2.970
>44.5 varget
>Lapua cases, forester FLS
>CCI BR primer
Here's a new .223 I cooked up, left is normal 52gr SMK right is 77gr Nosler custom.

Bump.
Can only two people on /k/ afford to reload??
Anyone here ever have any experience with James river armory?
i want to buy one of their m1 carbines and one of their ask and maybe even an m14 if those two guns are well done.
every thing i read about them is really good but that said there is not a whole lot of stuff about the on forums and what not only a handful of youtube videos that are all positive but i wanted to know if any fellow /k/omandos have had any negative experiences with them before i drop $1300 on a new model carbine when i can get a really nice and rare GI m1 carbine variant for just about the same...

come on no one?
No one.
I've heard good things from other anons on here about their aks I thought about getting one but a shop near me had wasrs for 620
So I got a job offer to do armed security in Afghanistan. It pays $60,000 a year. I also just graduated the police academy a little over a year and a half ago. I have a little over 2 and a half years to become a cop in Florida before my certification runs out. I don't know what to do.
60k to do security in a shithole? No fucking thanks.
At least with the mil you have benefits to fall back on and perks like the VA.
Get a stateside police job in a big city in florida and you'll be making upper 40s to low 50s out the gate anyway, and could make up the difference working OT or rent a cop.
>>29351376
Its on an army base. Been to both Iraq and Afghanistan once before.
>>29351405
still shit pay dude
For those of you who do both is it more fun to go to the range/hunt with friends or paintball with friends?
That wrist is so dainty.
>>29351285
It's just a random google image. Didn't even realize it.
I personally like the strategy/planning aspect that comes with paintball a little more although you get a little bit of that with hunting as well. On a scale of fun I'd think it would go
1 - Paintball
2 - Hunting
3 - Range
Also known as the 9K38 IGLA.
Just wondering if anyone can give me insight into this weapon or websites for information. I mostly am interested in the strengths and weaknesses of this weapon.

Any Navy engineers up here in /k/? Any advice for someone in A school?
>>29351147
what rate?
>>29351147
Dunno if they have them in your A school, but our barracs had little red stickers on the window they would look at to see if you snuck out. Very easy to purchase replacements or make out out of 2 pieces of scotch tape and red marker in between.
You fucked up.
My advice is to ad sep while you still can, then try to get into the Air Force. You'll get paid the same, probably do lighter work, and not have your ass stuck in a hot box for the next few years.
What is the best .22lr rifle available, within a budget of around 400 dollars? Most opinions i see say the Ruger 10/22, is it really the best rifle for its lower cost?
Also, what is a good scope to go along? I only own a pistol, so i'm pretty inexperienced with rifles, and am looking for a good pest killer
>>29351019
if you plan to leave the gun bone stock except adding optics a marlin 795 shits all over the stock 10/22
its also much cheaper than a 10/22
however 10/22 has that aftermarket
>>29351019
I'm loving my 10/22 with bx-25 mags. I had problems but an aftermarket extractor fixed that. 3 years and probably 4k rounds through it. My TRS-25 is on it right now.
>>29351887
This. 100x over. My BIL bought a 10/22 and it's a total POS. My 795 shits all over it.
Can someone tell me what the catch is here so I don't waste 600 dollarydoos?

Agreed. On account of I don't like loosing magazines.

Yes for operating
No for range
Yes for operational training
No for just standing in one spot shooting
Basically all i could use it for would be if i were on the move.
This is a pretty unusual thing to ask but does anyone know how to make one?
With the strict gun control in europe it's hard to get firearms and guides for making them are all about making sub-machine guns with smooth bore barrels that are basically just rapid fire muskets anyway since they can't hit anything. And they require proper ammunition which you can't get.
Rifled muskets using a minie ball can hit a man reliably 200m so they're pretty good and it's a muzzle loader so it can be produced really easily compared to modern weapons. For ammunition you just need lead and casts, black powder and simple shock sensitive explosives for percussion caps and all of those things are unrestrictable because they can be produced at home.
And then if you can make those reliably you could move on to revolvers which negate the slow reload speed of black powder weapons by allowing you to load a bunch of cylinders in advance and then switch them out during battle to reload.
To be honest I think it's a great plan.
>Shot in a restaurant
>Muzzle-loading rifle all but worthless
>"Great plan"
>>29348379
Well obviously you wouldn't CC a musket, it's more for home defense and armed rebellion.
You could make a nice black powder revolver and carry it though
>>29348362
>Rifled Muskets
oxymoron, there is no such thing. If is rifled its a rifle and therefore its no longer a musket.
