How do we end the Combine invasion?
Just need a crowbar. Lugging around a garden gnome and launching it into space is purely optional.
>>29331275
have the G-man send Gordon to the the Combine homeworld, obviously
>>29331294
Sorry, pay the G-man to send Gordon Freeman to the Combine homeworld.
So, /k/... How are you holding up?

Not great. Stuck in college, great state for guns but I won't have an apartment for a few months and by that time I'll be too busy working and too poor to become hazguns. But hey, at least I get to chill with horses a bit in the meantime, and the job is a good one.

>I get to chill with horses a bit
Don't date any horse grills, though. Seriously.
Things could be better. Went back home for Easter Break and found out one of the guys I went to BMQ with in the reserves has died. Other than that, I'm kinda happy to be home for a few days.

First?
Hey guys, I built my AR last year. After damaging a receiver trying to put a barrel nut on, I figured I should buy another upper receiver and have a reputable gunsmith do it.
After reading great reviews for "Firearms Service Center" I took my pieces up there to get get it finally built.
After that, I shot it, it shot fine. Jammed on some steel ammo, ate through some brass ammo.
Then I didn't do anything with it for 8 months.
I took it back out, and it started low gassing. Not fully expelling the spent round before the first one wanted to go back in.
I off my handguard, and my gasblock was off, and pic related was what I saw. The "I'm da AR guy I built dem in da army" guy at the range said this was likely the problem. But I haven't shot it since realigning it with some calipers and specs.
The big issue I have is. I got to looking at my gun, and my handguard is damaged. The way it fits onto the barrel nut is warped and some teeth are chipped on that same handguard. Which is a $180 one from midwest industries.
Should I go up to the service center and ask them to do something about this? It has been 8 months and I've put a 200 rounds through the gun since. But damage to my handguard is unacceptable to me. Along with, there were a lot of marks on the bottom of the gas block where it looks like they realigned the block quite a few times.
What do, other than shoot my gun soon to make sure that gas problem is gone?

Anti poaching edition. I want to see the shit you'd wear out in the South African bush. Pic not related, just my current progress on my plate carrier.
Boogerbutt made a different thread but didn't have GQ in the title, so I support this one. I'ma go take a new picture of my (slightly) updated stuff.

Fuck it, it's been up for hours and has 6 replies. Im stepping up. Also need some help designing a p90 set up for a friend. No armor.
I'm thinking a belt set up for most of his shit, but a really low hanging chest rig with 3 p90 mags. Those fuckers are tall and fit well in taco mags, but bending side to side caused interference
As promised, here is the update on the anti-poaching squad/project.
I met with the lawyer this week. Articles of incorporation are being filed.
Board Members have been selected, close family and friends for now with the intent to replace most of them with higher profile people who can assist in bringing in funds.
After getting incorporated, we will file for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
I had a call this morning with lawyer in South Africa. Planning on registering an NPO in SA. The U.S. based non profit will fund the south african NPO. I have a South African who will technically be the head of that organization until my permanent resident application is approved (I do qualify and expect the application to be approved before the IRS approves the non profit status) , at which time I will become the head of that organization.
I've been in contact with my friend, who is a wildlife crimes detective in the South African Police Services. Our NPO will also be registered as a security company and the detective will become a full time employee once funds are available ($12,000). He will be the main force on the ground, working his LE contacts to get volunteer (ranch owners will make donation to the NPO) ranch ranger positions lined up. The hope is to get 6-10 ranches lined up. Rangers may rotate between ranches as needed.
U.S. based volunteers who wish to do anti-poaching work will need to apply for a South African Volunteer Visa
http://www.southafrica-newyork.net/homeaffairs/charitable.htm
There might be the opportunity for those who wish to come for a shorter program if they want to come on a standard tourist visa.
While the South African NPO can't pay you, the U.S. based 501(c)(3) will fund your travel, expenses, and provide a stipend while you're on the ground in South Africa. I expect the tour of duty to last at least 4 months and up to 3 years if willing.
I fully plan to get those who are willing to come for a year or more the FGASA level one certification. This would allow you to do some extra work on a ranch, as a game guide, and earn some nice tip money. I'm still working on getting a FGASA instructor to come to our location for the two week practical.
As for raising funds. Kickstarter does not allow charitable projects. GoFundMe and indiegogo do allow fundraising. I have a lot of video I've shot and the SA cop has lots of case photos and video we can use. Now we just have to lay out the video and hire a narrator and editor. We can start raising funds after we get non-profit status. I'm also working with a web designer/ecommerce guy to set up a mission website complete with an online store and donation method.
Okay, I think that's about it for now.

I really need to get a PC. Currently have ESAPI's and a full vest with soft armor, thing is unreasonably heavy and bulky for civvie use.
Hey guys it's the guy from the armadillo hunting thread. I've come back after bagging a few for their shell (turns out standard rifle rounds do just fine) and after prepping the shells and cooking a little of the meat to try (for giggles, tasted like shit) my skin has started itching and I've got this sore on my hand that's popped up in the last day. Any armadillo hunters know of infections they might carry? I've taken a few anti-biotics will that do the job?
Dude aren't they linked to leprosy?

$400 for a Ruger 10/22 that goes for a little more than $300 on average. Really sticking it to the guy who happened to bring his younger daughter to the gun show that day.
