Debating if I should get a cheap handgun or a short sword/cutlass for self defense, the problem is I don't know where to look about sword laws in my state (Indiana), does anyone on /k/ happen to know where to look, or anything about my states laws?
If I can't get a sword I guess I'll go with a handgun, but I have no training, never even held one, and not a lot of money to spend. What are good, cheap guns for newbies? I'm starting to read the sticky (wikia link) now. Sorry for shitting up your board but I think you guys are pretty smart about weapons,...

betcha you can get a machete or two at home depot
that way you can have a useful tool until the barbarians arrive at the gates
maybe go out and cut things, learn how to use it?
>>29417078
You'd have to be a literal autist to choose a sword over a gun
Just go to harbor freight and get a machete. You'll quickly realize that using it to cut brush isn't as fun as you think then you'll realize using it to cut bone/flesh would be even less fun. Then you'd take all the money you saved on the $15 machete and purchase a neat pistol to play with. Go to a local gunstore (Academy, Dicks, Bass Pro, etc.) and ask to hold the guns to see which fits best in your hand.
Will this rod damage my .22?
I used it once but now I'm worried maybe I shouldn't have, this gun is my baby. I don't know much about cleaning bores.
I cleaned from the chamber
>>29416801
I don't use any rods on my .22s.
I use boresnakes, and rags and shoe strings.
it looks like aluminum so no
>>29416811
Shoe strings huh? That's a good idea.
But my gun is 28 inch barrel, so I don't think that would work.
Bore snakes are good though? I'll get one for next time.
>>29416816
I hope it is. I used the brush attachment in the pic with it and it does have a metal loop on the end too
It was kind of hard to push through but I'm guessing that's normal? I hope I didn't scrape the chamber
Also how heavily should...

That's a rhino
>>29416795
That's an LCR you idiot
>>29416795
Yep op, that's definitely a rhino, this guy knows his guns.
hey /o/. would you buy a mig-21 for 70k if you had the money?
what other fighter jet could you buy for that amount? or would you save up for something more ballin?
>>29416640
I'd rather buy a hellcat tank and make it road legal.
And spend the rest of the money on making it insured and filled up
>>29416640
I had the chance to get one for $10,000 about 12 years ago. It needed a shitload of work though
>>29416661
i can't picture myself picking a tank over a jet even if the upkeep and legality is an order of magnitude simpler. i'd just use bondo on holes and fill that baby up with premo.
Not necessarily bought. Found this knife in the yard and cleaned it up, can anyone identify it and is it worth carrying or mall ninja tier garbage?
Also general recent acquisitions thread
>>29416562
well what is written on the blade?
>>29416676
No markings on either side, it's completely bare
>>29416562
ayy I have one of those. Had it for years now though so I forget what it is. No markings or anything.
Is Palmetto State Armory any good? They're running some pretty killer Easter deals. I'm thinking about getting this.
http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-m4-5-56-nato-1-7-melonite-13-5-lightweight-moe-freedom-rifle-kit.html
>>29416176
No, they're pretty shit. Just ask /arg/.
Are you going to be doing super ultra ninja operations at night and innasandbox while keeping Murica safe? Then no its not good.
Are you going to be like the rest of /k/ and just buy the rifle to plink with once or twice a month and have in pictures when you shitpost? Its perfect.
In all honesty they make good products at great prices. Its just that you have to wait forever to get them. Buy it and wait OP.
psa is cheap and meet bare minimum standards
as for that specific deal not really you are paying for fancy furniture and the rail
the barrel is a no name 1/7 twist melonited carbine gas
the bcg group included is generic mystery meat
psa sells better quality bolts that are hp/mpi tested
however if the description doesnt state it its not those parts
some stupidass mothefuckers think everything from psa is gold as long as its not ptac while others think everything they sell is shit. the fact is they sell a variety of products and you really need to read...

ITT destroy /k/'s dreams
even if .280 British was adopted as the standard NATO round, it would have still led to the need to adopt a round like 5.56 and 7.62 NATO. .280 was a jack of all master of none.
>>29416133
>ITT destroy /k/'s dreams
Hillary Clinton will become the next President of the United States of America.
Obama will nominate another hard-left anti-gun Supreme Court Justice.
The Democrats will retake the Senate and maul the Republican majority in the House, if not equalize it.
DC v. Heller will be overturned, Hillary will EO massive restrictions on firearms and no one will stop her. Not the House, not the Senate, not the courts.
>>29416133
>.280 was a jack of all master of none.
why do people always leave off the end of that saying?
It's "jack of all trades, master of none, still better than master of one."
>>29416133
The only ones that praise 280 are bongs with an inferiority complex and have never used a firearm in their lives.
Hey /k/, i want to shoot 1MOA or better groupings on a budget. What combo of rifle and .308 ammo can I do this with for the least amount of money?
I'll worry about the optic later.
PTR
>>29416064
Howa 1500 heavy barrel with an SWFA fixed 10x
Probably the most accurate budget rifle there is that doesnt feel cheap
>>29416747
I have this exact combination and cheap as fuck PPU shoots just over moa reliably, Hornaday superformance consistently goes .5-.75moa but thats $40/20 with Australian rupees

fucking lightning fast meme right there
I wanna build a small high capacity pistol, I would probably like to keep the power to a comparable level to 22 wmr. I was originally thinking of necking down .32 brass to .22, but apparently it has rims and I wanna use a straight, box magazine. I was thinking of shortening .30 carbine brass and necking it down to .22, effectively making a shorter 5,7 johnson spitfire round, but there has to be an easier way.
TL;DR All in all I wanna get a rimless centerfire 22wmr alternative, probably a wildcat
Pic semi related.
25acp?
>>29415389
That's a bit too weak. Besides that it has rims as well.
I wonder if the 380 is long enough to do a 22tcm style thing then... Or just load up wimpy 22tcm...
