I happen to have this book in my collection of old Swiss militaria.
I can't find a PDF anywhere, so I wonder if /k/ would want me to scan the book and then share it here?
It's in German though and it's about how a soldier and their family should behave during an invasion of Switzerland. They also show how to conduct guerilla operations and what civilians should do when they occupy Switzerland.
It's quite interesting even though it's from 1959.

Yes, and see if you can't find someone to translate it too.
I could translate.
Soldierbook.
Next page pls.

I could translate it since German is my mother tongue.
Is there any reason to get a HK USP9 over a P2000 in 9mm?
And then, for the same P2000 over a CZ SP01 Phantom?
The P2k and CZ cost the same, and buying one of those would be saving $200 which could go towards the transfer fee as well as ammo, targets, and range time. But if there's a significant advantage that'll make waiting another 2 months to save up for the USP worth it, I'd wait.
I've heard that the P2k is supposedly the successor to the USP (and someone said USPc), so wouldn't that make it better, given products generally improve...

Here's the difference, p2000 is a compact pistol meat for cc and the USP is a larger full sized pistol
U can find a used usp for 550 if you look hard enough
The usp has better trigger options, and in my opinion the best HK trigger out of the box, not to mention you can drop a match trigger in it
If I were in your spot, I would get a nice used USP and drop a match trigger in it and have an amazing handgub
>>30571850
Ah, I didn't actually know that about the P2k being more meant for cc, I was thinking the P2000sk being the cc.
Are used guns generally good though? I'd feel better knowing I'm the first owner, and there's less chances of it being a lemon.
>>30571812
First, in terms of overall quality and degree of refinement, HK >>>>>>>>> Sig > Glock > CZ.
The trigger pull feels better on the HK: the DA is smoother, SA is crisper, and the reset is shorter. There are options for "match" upgrades with both, but the USP match parts can be collected for $100-160, depending on where you buy them, while the Cajun Gunworks kits for CZ's are about as much as a new gun ($425 on their website).
The P2000 is a "compact."...

Which is more /k/ approved? And do kommandos consider the garand a battle rifle?
>>30571492
>M1A is just the M14's
M1A is Springfield Inc's trademarked commercial line of rifles. Nothing to do with military rifle development.
>>30571492
I consider the Garand a battle rifle. It might not be able to compete with the 3 titans that emerged in the 1950's, but the Garand was also developed 20 years before them. It was the gold standard on the battlefield in WWII
>>30571492
The only correct answer is all of the above, and get an SVT40 as well.
I'm planning on buying an SKS. I know a bunch of different countries made the and I am also aware that quality and durability can change drastically between which country made them. What country made the best SKS and which country made the worse.
Expect prices to be a little higher.

$425 for yugos
$330 for chinese
everything else is catch as you can.
>>30571401
This infographic is pretty accurate. I'd personally look for either Yugos or Russians, though those will be pricier. I wouldn't waste time or money on an export chinese model.
The models and order of desireability you'll be most worried about are, in order:
>Russian
>Yugo M59
>Chinese/Yugo M59/66.
Any of those three will be solid performers though. I love my M59/66, was my first gun and...

Will I be cool if I hold the gun sideways, Anon?
>>30571343
I see so many idiots doing that at my local range
I live in the middle of nowhere. Stupid wanna-be gang banger white 15 year olds do it and even elderly people. I can't figure out what it so appealing about it.
Frank Castle says no.
>>30571343
why does he do that?
What does /k/ think of scout scopes? I'm getting an M1A and this seems like a better option than mounting a scope over the action.
I never used one, but it just feels weird to me. That being said, is there any other way for SKS to get scoped?
>>30570852
For what purpose?
If you're going to use a magnified optic anyways, what is the advantage vs a normal set up?
>>30570852
Barrels kick and flex with every shot and change size based on heat, a sight mounted on a barrel would lose it's zero every time you shoot a few rounds.
Looking for cheap AR brass ammo, anyone able to help me out?
A lot of the cheap sites have horrible reviews on reseller ratings.com...
You just missed a great deal with the 4th of July sale at PSA for $0.30/rnd for PMC brass.
Sucks that people caught on to Wolf Gold being such a good deal... so that it now isn't.
>>30570808
Dang. I'm considering just buying steel cased, but is steel really that bad to use in an AR?
Just bought this Luger for $200, did I do well?
0/10, apply yourself

Is it a squirtgun?
>>30570680
No, it's a pistol
I was just playing Civ, when this happened again. Montezuma-Gandi-Stalin McRetardFace declared war on me. When I had my own FUCKING CONTINENT, surrounded by modern destroyers, airforce, infantry and tanks rolling all over the place. And he thought it would be a good time to start his galleon-loaded invasion with longbowmen and musketmen.
But this had me thinking... are there any historical equivalents? Where one side is CLEARLY overwhelmingly more powerful, and the other hopelessly outclassed, and yet the weak idiot declares war in all honesty with intention to somehow...

The first and second world war.
>>30570718
I Disagree.
The start of First world war was a total clusterfuck with about a hundred different moving parts and motivations.
In the second, there was a genuine chance that germany might grab a victory before others had time to prevent it.

>Or some natives trying to overthrow powerful imperialistic occupiers.
But that's your most common example where it happened, barring someone with grossly inaccurate data in their planning (so maybe someone who fought the Mongols?).

Cotton underwear sucks to operate in, what do you guys where?
Looking at getting some compression shorts and a combat shirt

Fuck me
Are gienna combat pants good?
Where can I get some artic camo preferably multicam alpine or the marine artic pattern. Can't seem to find it for sale any where
It's occurred to me that while we joke about "ATF plz go" and "good morning/afternoon/evening FBI" and whatnot all the time, I've only seen one person ever claim to be an ATF or FBI agent here.
And in thinking about it, I have to wonder if there aren't /k/ommandos who originally came here for work.
So...just out of curiosity, how many of us are Feds and how did we come to be here?
What service weapons do you get issued and do you like them?
How often do you all practice?
I remember a while back some Australian analyst tried to do an Edward Snowden and leak a bunch of sensitive documents to 4chan, I think it was /pol/ or /int/
anyways, nobody believes him and lels are had until this dudes boss was randomly lurking off duty and saw it. He called it in and got the guy arrested
>>30570543
Damn.
Regardless, I just have to wonder if somewhere out there an FBI computer has a /k/ humor folder for times when one of us is down...
I dunno.
I shouldn't have bothered with the thread.
I just figured, you know, since they go to our meets and lurk that eventually one of them might actually start to post here and have some fun instead of just lurking and trying to bait the stupid ones into doing something illegal.
>>30570543
Yeah, it was an Australian DIO guy, and he posted it to /b/
First response was "fake and gay"
Now I feel silly because I was in that thread. Should've saved the pics.

What material is the bottom magazine lock of a HK P2000 Pistol made of?
Can it melt in a fire?
I am no robot, but german. No gun to be bought here. Even touchy is difficulty, thats why I need to ask.

>What material is the bottom magazine lock of a HK P2000 Pistol made of?

If I pulled it off, could it fry?
95% chance it's nylon
yes it will melt
Sup /k/, can you give me a little info regarding the SVT 40? I'm going to buy one on Friday and would like to learn some things and details what to look out for. Also all kinds of pro-tips related to the gun.
For example what markings/stamps in the stock/receiver etc that could provide some insight on the gun's origin, year of manufacture, the factory it was made in and so on.
And before you ask, no, this is not going to be my first gun, i know how to basically operate the gun. Just asking for some more info and little details.

Canuck?
>>30569702
Hey, /k/anada /k/ommando here - if you are getting one in Canada make sure you bring a bore light (or if your local gun dealer isnt jewish he might let you borrow one off the shelf) - point is a lot of the guns, mainly SKS's and SVT-40s are literally freshly dug out of the ground and covered in grease to protect them - make sure the barrel is clean and has alright to good rifling left in it.
Also make sure you give it an 11/10 clean. When I got my SKS I had to take it all apart, clean it over the course...

Nope, not a Canuck. I'm from Finland. Also the price is 590€ from the gunstore I'm picking it up. That's....pretty much in my book, but on the other hand, I've visited them with my dad and friends so many times over the past few years that I'm more than likely to get a handsome discount on the gun and ammo.
You guys know that lightweight scandium alloy metal shit that Smith and Wesson makes revolver frames out of? Why don't they make more firearms out of this stuff? Is it not durable enough? What's the deal here? An AR upper and lower made from this stuff would be pretty amazing tbqh familia
>>30569643
Probably because scandium and scandium alloys are expensive as god. The 442 is sub-$500 MSRP, the 340 is >$1000 MSRP. Figure it out.
Personally, I'd love to see an AR upper, lower, handguard, and buffer tube made out of the stuff (if it was feasible engineering-wise) but it would probably rape bank accounts.
>>30569661
I would imagine someone would shell out the bucks for it. Having those speed holes in your AR exposing the action and shit is retarded as fuck.
>>30569686
Agreed.
Though I've heard of AR receivers made of magnesium as well.
