Am I the only person who likes to "play" with their guns when theyre home alone?
I know that its unsafe, even if its unloaded, but does anyone else do this?
guns may be fun, but they aren't toys
>>29477330
How is it unsafe if it's unloaded?
Did I just fall for b8?

Mosin bolt handles make good prostate massagers...
i am about to get my first shotty. Right now I am leaning towards a new maverick 88 or a used Winchester defender for $212. I really like the full tube and wood furniture on the defender but i want to know if that is a decent price? Looks like one in pick.
>>29477212
any good condition pump going for < 300 bucks is worth it. I dig the look of that Winchester too, definitely worth grabbing, especially if the Maveric's just the pistol-gripped one.
>>29477212
You're a fucking moron if you don't get the defender.
and if you don't take good care of it, I'll find you and say mean things to you.
>>29477212
Where is the defender for sale at?
Which European country is the most /k/ for gun ownership and overall gun culture?

WELL SHIT THIS IS A TOUGH ONE

Has anyone here ever built themselves a 1911? I've fallen in love with the idea of building my own but looking for more input before I commit to it. I understand that fitting the parts to eachother is what it's all about. Any advice on the matter is appreciated.
Parts can be loosely fit and the gun will still work, and it will actually be more reliable from the loose fit.
How many thousands of parts interchangeable 1911s were made to mil spec? I can't recall.
The fit was so loose the slide rattle was worse than most people within this generation will never know.
>>29477065
Do you think this is something an amateur with time and patience could handle?
>>29477128
Maybe, if you go out and buy a gunsmiths file set, an anchored bench clamp and other gunsmithing tools. I looked into it once and the cost of the tools plus the parts to build made it cost as much as a les baer
I say that we start off with a much shorter gas tube and a tighter spring to increase cyclic rate.

>Change charging handle location to side-charging
>Remove need for buffer tube by putting recoil spring in upper receiver
>Standardize a tool-less quick detach barrel mechanism
>Make ambi controls standard for all ARs: ambi mag release, bolt release, safety
>Standardize a short throw safety lever that moves 45 degrees safe to fire

>Sir we have reports that you are currently in possession of a firearm, in direct violation of the Clinton Gun Control Act of 2018. We have a warrant to search your home and it will be in your best interests to inform us about any firearms located within.
What do?
>Implying I didn't use online and gun-show loopholes that the clinton presidency never removed

I was contemplating the usefulness of bolt actions in a civil war scenario for something I am writing. How fast can a trained shooter cycle the bolt and acquire another target on a .308 winchester hutning rifle versus, say, an FN FAL? How fast can DMRs reacquire targets? I imagine that at longer ranges the bolt action will be more accurate, while the semi will be faster to cycle with a lower recoil. Thing is, I hear a lot of people say you cannot cycle more than 15 rounds a minute, which seems like major bullshit to me after seeing people shoot their bolt actions. Let's...

If you know where your target is and it isn't moving then rapid target acquisition is pretty easy. If they're on the move then it gets harder.
If you're at a close range then you definitely don't want a scope bolt gun. A semi auto with irons or a red dot type sight.
>>29476662
Character uses an smg at close range, so that shouldn't really be an issue, would it?
Seriously though we all know they're shit, so why even try to defend it?
The mock a3 really isn't all that bad desu senpai
But in its current state L85 isn't.

Keep lying to yourself.
Poor ergo , ways a tone , and reliability is still questionable.
Are they not cool enough?
Because hunting rifles are pretty damn bare basic, case in point the Savage you decided to post
NEXT
>>29476215
So are Blawk brand Blawks and pretty much all other "polymer" guns. And ARs. And AKs.
>>29476130
I'm not much in to hunting rifles due to most affordable options (such as the Axis, American, etc.) having a mag capacity under five rounds, not being clip fed, and lacking iron sights.
I know I could probably mod one to have those features, but I'd rather just buy something else.
Any rifle in a decent that can shoot accurately worth a damn can be a hunting rifle.
Sup /k/ I really really wanna get this gun one day.
Would a folding stock be Bubba?

You don't know how these work, do you?

He could get those shitty folding stocks that make the gun unusable.

Nope. I was thinking of those soviet ones that go under the gun
How to become a gunsmith? Is there schools or programs? I tried google, but it's all online schools. Where do I start? Have an ar pic to show my appreciation.

This should help.
I guess you go to a school for it, get in debt, and wait years for someone to hire you.
Have fun waiting tables for years to pay for a degree to get you a career that makes less money than waiting tables.
