I did a lot of research on best gun for home defense and came to the conclusion of 15+1 rounds of .45ACP
I considered a wide variety of factors
Does /k/ agree? It's my only gun at the moment
Got the red dot and silencer but honestly prefer the gun without the red dot / silencer
Do like the weapon light though
make sure it don't squish

They're good guns, and you can run .45 super through them. But the best gun will always be the one you're good with
>inb4 squishy squishy

solid choices all around.
Let's have a humble old crossbow thread.
These things are loads of fun. What you got?
Pic related, arriving tomorrow for shits and giggles
I don't own one but I'm thinking of taking up a bow or crossbow. In my state I could use a bow during both bow and rifle season excluding the 10 day season exclusively for muzzleloading rifles. The downside is you "technically" have to be disabled ( aspie/autistic/tard/physically impaired ) to use them for hunting and I really don't understand why.
>>29479946
So I'm going to guess you have experience with crossbows. Could you tell me about how to get started, some good first brands, etc?...

I would recommend Barnett for quality. I have owned then and absolutely loved my old Wildcat C5. Compounds are best but I wanted a recurve due to simplicity and ease of changing the string.
You guys have access to a wide range of cool xbows. Pic is the old C5. I used to shoot seagulls with broadheads as a youth (= explosion of blood guts and feathers). Ah, good times.

>You guys have access...
Where do you live that you lack access? Do you also have any recommendations as far as which models to buy? I could ( comfortably ) spend up to $800 but would go up to $900. So far I've found my Walmart ( oddly enough ) carries a huge selection which is good for me given I don't have a local archery shop.
What's the most nightmareish battle your country's armed forces have ever fought in?
Which battle in history would you say was the worst? Not necessarily in terms of casualties but in sheer horror.

the somme for britain and france for sure

Verdun for France.
It's not like Verdun or Somme was any nicer for the Germans. Casualties are usually the same for both sides in these major battles.
Embarrassing. Is this how drone "pilots" behave?
Is this why they claim "PTSD" and demand their own medals?
I wish I had that job I think murdering people in the desert would be fun
I don't know shit about shit but I could see how drone PTSD could be a thing
In the field, you and your friends are going to die if you don't kill. You can second guess how you did things, but not why
But if you sit on your ass in total comfort and safety, and blow someone away because it was your job. There's not much moral support there other than "good job" and "people count on you". You can't see the lives you've saved, only the ones you've taken.
Actual footage from the film
Also it was made by Britcucks and starred Britcucks.
Its an authentic portrayal of aircucks.
Why does this gun suck so hard /k/?

>tfw ammo is subsidized by the state
>tfw you can find one for 150 in gun stores or under 100 through private sales
Profiles and their uses?
(from my experience)
Tanto: stabbing and flat-cutting only; tacticool.
Clip Point: jack of all trades, master of none.
Spear Point: stab only
Drop Point: utility only.
Add some more if you guys have experience with any others.
>>29479680
None of those things are true, it depends entirely on the individual blade shape
>>29479680
yeah basically nothing you just said was true
go learn a little more and try again
>>29479703
>>29479746
So you're telling me a spear point will be as good as a drop point for utility?
Retards.

First off, Cabelas is overpriced. Unless you have the 20% off coupon, there's not a great reason to shop there.
Next, the people who buy guns there are the kind of people who shouldn't own guns. I keep looking at some of these bobos thinking that they're going to shoot themselves in the face by accident seeing as they're looking down the barrel of the gun they want to buy.
Third, how about carrying magazines and holsters for the guns you sell? Unless you have a Glock or Sig 226, they never have shit in stock. The only holsters they seem to keep...

What's the best scope/optic to put on an M1A Scout Squad?
If you were actually hoping to put any kind of optic other than a micro RDS you're going to be bitterly disappointed.
To get proper optics on an M1A you would need a cheek riser of some kind, a proper mount that will be a huge pain in the ass to install and keep tightened, and rings that keep the scope as low as possible on the rifle.
If you wanted proper optics on an M1A you should've bought a SCAR 17 or AR-10.
stick a PU on it
you know you want to

I thought the mp-412 was real and not just vaporware.
I thought ak's literally never had to be cleaned.
I thought all gangbangers used gold deagle brand deagles.
I thought Russian guns instantly equals bad guys.
I thought American guns instantly equal good guys.
I thought lmgs were all comfortable to fire from the hip.
I thought all snipers could kill at like 5 miles away.
Holy fuck I was a baby autist as a kid.

I thought war was cool, and that gunfire doesnt hurt your years
>thought shotguns worked like they usually work in video games, i.e. the most destructive thing in the universe under 10 feet but totally useless beyond that
Does anyone remember the "The shotgun. An often misunderstood weapon" copypasta that finally got HM to leave this board?
Does the military still use jeeps or is it all HUMVEEs and MRAPs now? Do they have any pickup trucks still being used like the M715 or CUCV?
Is there any modern equivalents to the Willys MB other than a two door soft top Jeep Wrangler? Is there anything like an M715? I guess the closest thing to a modern one would be a pick up built off of a Wrangler, is there actually anything like that?
Never seen any trucks used other than NTVs while deployed, they are starting to test LTATVs though

$200k for a piece of shit jeep clone that breaks all the time
It's designed to fit in the back of an Osprey, but it's probably going to be replaced by the Flyer
Can we have a thread devoted to soldiers wearing gas masks and/or protective chemsuits? Preferably modern, but older black & white photos are okay too.
