How useful would it be if we can get 'predator level airpower and recon' on every ship that can host a helicopter?
Is this a nice to have capability, or something that can dramatically change the way things are done?
Darpa's TERN is specced to carry 600 pounds worth of ordnance with a range of about 900nm (1,670km), and be able to land vertically.

I think it'll pair very favorably with the LCS
Sounds like a good loitering platform in low-intensity environments. I feel like this really would have seen its heyday 5-10 years earlier.
What does K think about this ?
>>30578657
looks like literally every other modern rifle
Summer pls be over soon

OP is talking about one rifle model to fit most of the roles
PDW, Assault rifle , LMG , DMR
Hey /k/, I think it's my first time posting here.
I'm a trucker and just bought a Gerber 06 F.A.S.T. to keep with me on my travels. I didn't research knives at all, I was just shopping and remembered I need a decent knife and this one seemed to be mostly what I needed. I bought it to keep on me for everyday use but also considered how well it might work in a self defense situation.
Did I do OK? I paid a little under $60 including tax, more than I'd planned on. But it seemed well made and useful for what I need. Would this work good for self defense?
>Gerber
Here's your (You)
>>30578605
What's wrong with them? My dad's used Gerber since he was a kid, says it sharpens much better than Buck.
>>30578664
>Buck
Here's another one
>(You)
Portugal just won Euro 2016 defeating France, do they also punch above their weight in the military?
bump
No
France has the strongest military in Europe
>>30578552
I mean probably not, but I say that with no knowledge whatsoever on the topic.
Evening gentlemen. Hope you all are enjoying your nice automatic, high capacity, thousand rounds per minute killing machines. Just wanted to let you all know pretty soon... we'll be paying you a visit soon
guns will probably be banned in the next 20-30 years.
>>30578576
obama and hillary will be hanging after they are found guilty of treason
it will be beautiful
>>30578544
Obama get out!
Reeeeeeeeeeeeee!
>get home from gym
>cops are at my apartment complex searching around with flashlights and shit
>I'm guessing there's someone creeping around
>get my AR and make sure sure it's oiled up and shit, in case someone tries to break in tonight.
>the Chinese made piece of shit Primary Arms red dot sight is broken
>I'm shit out of luck if I have to use it in the dark

what was the butterfly's wisdom?
Primary arms micro dot
>>30578186
thats what you get for using cheap shit
flashlight more important than an optic anyways for HD
/k/ Could a Maus destroy a m1a2 Abrams?
0/10
>>30578121
In theory? Its gun could probably penetrate the back of an Abrams.
In practice, you're better off just dismounting the gun from the vehicle and ambushing the Abrams with it. The maus itself is a literal dead weight. Or, even using the ammo as IEDs.

Thanks anon.
How viable is the Acme DP for home defense? I was eyeing one in my LGS and it looks pretty cool.
Not so good, it jams if someone sticks a finger in it. You need a tried and true anvil.
I honestly don't know whether to play along, or viciously insult the OP
>>30577845
>Not Acme brand TNT
It's like you want the bad guy to get back up and loony your shit up.
>be me today
>show 1911 fag friend my newly aquired S&W 686 prelock.
>open cylinder and hand it to him
>first thing he does is slam the cylinder shut with the flick of the wrist
>proceed to tell me how nice my gun us
>holding in my rage as my face turns red with rage, fists clenched.
>ask for gun back

Gun broke, not safe for firing anymore, please give to police for melting down. Only safe way to do it.
The only thing left to do is tie the barrel in a knot and give it to a liberal arts college.
>>30577678
A coworker of mine who is very gun savy did that with my 629 EXTREMELY hard after spinning it. Explained to him why it's bad for it and he apologized profusely. Now any time I hand a revolver over to anyone I give them a breef rundown on revolver etiquette before. Barry from Iraqveteran8888 has a great vid on it.
Let's see what's in the safe /k/ pic is part of the collection I have about 4 bolt actions aren't present
Self bump?
>>30576891
did you take that pic with a Polaroid from 1972 then scan it with a 15dpi scanner from 1987 then compress it with the 1991 jpeg standard before posting it here?
Eh hell why not
AR general doesn't seem to be any help with this question, which does /k/ prefer for two piece AR fore grips? A Midwest Industry keymod or a Daniel Defense Omega. Both seem to have their merits.
KAC RAS
>>30576816
FreeFloated handguards. There's a reason 90% of the AR's in /arg/ have a free float handguard m8
>>30576869
Are you referring to choosing a different hand guard or the Daniel Defense?
/K/ollateral a /k/ movie?
Good move and Tom Cruz is a great actor.
>>30576500
Tom Cruise.
>>30576488
I just watched it yesterday and I get an urge to watch it every time I see a picture of a USP. My only complaint is that Vincent uses a clip holster with no belt for his full size .45.
Hey /k/, I'm looking to get my first 12 gauge, what is the consensus recommendation for a reliable home defense one that doesn't break the bank?
Mossberg 500
Don't get a pistol grip only shotgun, you want a stock.
>>30576419
whats your budget?
>>30576431
No worries, that was just the first pic I saw, I won't do that
>>30576437
Preferably less than $500
so /k/... was downtown in knoxville this weekend and realized i may be internally over-reacting with my situational awareness while in urban areas. Am i being paranoid or is waiting to be in a confrontation while innacity a normal reaction?
>>30576413
I mean, are you freaking out? Are you breaking a sweat? Is your heartrate going up over nothing?
Then maybe.
Still, it's better to be paranoid than dead or injured.
>>30576413
doesnt hurt to scan your surroundings and give people and objects ocular patdowns, youre doing one better then all the drones drfting around with their face glued to their phones or just being plain oblivious
>>30576429
nah just constantly administering everyone the ocular pat-down, and assesing ambush points, keeping my wife on my protected side, being aware of anyone behind me ( i carry a @ 4oclock). i feel like im overdoing it, but am i?
Scenario: Tomorrow you wake up and you're an 8 year old girl. You're in a wooded, hilly area and the only thing you have other than your clothes is a backpack. You open up the backpack to find a letter and a map. The letter reads:
>I know you must be fucking confused right now, but if you want to stay alive just listen to what I have to tell you. Right now there's a highly trained, well equipped 10 man team in the area and if they find you you're dead. I'm approximately 100 miles from where you are in the city marked on...

>>30576345
What if the man who wrote the letter is a hentai antagonist waiting to rape you, and the 10 man team is a search party?
Do you get to be a cyborg like Henrietta?
>>30576380
You can weigh the dangers of each I suppose. On one hand, worst case scenario is dying, on the other hand, there's a good old fashioned dicking.
>>30576408
I suppose. Even the odds a little with a hit squad after you.
