Opinions on this? Ruger 556. It's my first assault weapon ive purchased for home defense. Haven't got to shoot it yet but it feels really light and smooth

they're meh-ok depending how much you pay for it. anything over 600 and you could of done better just building your own.
i am glad that ruger didn't try to make the mags proprietary like they do with every other rifle that would benefit from using ar mags
Who was better /k/?
The marines who fought the Japs in the Pacific Theater during WW2?
or
The marines who fought in the Vietnam war?
Who had better fighters, or better leadership?
>>29521532
Are you retarded is the real question.
>>29521532
>Who had better fighters, or better leadership?
The Army
>>29521532
I don't know much about Vietnam or the pacific theater in WW2 but I would have to assume the WW2 marines were more motivated since more of them joined on their own volition rather then being drafted
Was plum furniture a mistake?
It was the closest you could get to making black without making the material too brittle.

Are blank-firing movie guns still subject to the NFA? Couldn't you just swap uppers on a blank firing M16 to a proper one and go full giggle? If they ARE subject to the NFA, how do they get M240s and G36s with 922(o) being a thing? (For now. Soon)

You know damn well cops would shoot a perp before they would ever wrestle said perp

Buy a ZX2 escort for $1000, drop $3000 into it to make it an 11 second car, then go find a back road or track

Everytime I hear a sharp loud noise I instinctively reach for my gun even when I'm not carrying. I'm never 100% calm. Job's not worth developing that habit honestly. People will think you're weird.
Hey /k/ I was talking to a guy at my work who was a gunner on a Chinnok in vietnam. He said when they got ammo for his .50 cal the crates came in with an extra loose round. What was the purpose of this, or was it just a mess up at the factory?
>>29520900
Ammo manufacturers often include one extra PSR or prostate stimulation round in each crate as a small token of gratitude for using their product.
>>29520900
For use as a hammer to punch the pin in when attaching the 50 to the mount

I heard some interest in restarting PSG on /k/
So, to see how it'll go... here's a trial one.
I just got my precision AR back from the smith tonight--got some barrel work and cerakoted the stainless barrel black, then had a YHM Diamond Free Float quadrail installed.
I think it looks rather like a babby SR-25 in black.

Also, my squad is all about some Vortex Viper
What weapon does /k/ carry if guns magically vanished?
Id choose a wakizashi sword.

I really think it's a cool idea but something seems off. There has to be a catch.
>>29520803
The catch was that at the time of the article the US had no plans to put it into production, just a one off type of thing.
So it was more of a "haha dumb amerifats not listening to their troops xaxxaxa)))))"
With the recent update they seem to be pushing this line
Interested in finding a semi automatic rifle chambered in the 7.62x39mm round.
I'm looking for something with a wooden stock and at least 15+ round capacity.
So far:
AK pattern rifle - simple, cheap, good enough
????
The purpose of the rifle is sport shooting with the occasional deer hunt thrown in when my friends invite me out to their ranches.
I'm not looking for fancy, I want functional;the Casio G-Shock of guns if you will.
Thanks for your time
AK is for hunting men, not deer.

It's gonna end up being boar mostly I fear. All of West Texas is chock full of 'em

ak and mini-30 are about your only options. and dont pick the mini-30.
there are x39 ARs as well but most people dont like them.

Is it illegal in all states to even possess a sawed-off shotgun? And if so, why? I think I'd rather have this than a pistol. Short range obviously, but the spread and sheer force makes it seem practical for defense. If you can't get it done with that, then you were probably dead anyway. I'm not really a handgun fan, but whatever. I want a carry piece.
>>29519786
it and a pistol serve two different functions
>>29519786
Tax stamp should be all that's required for the good states. Not sure about the shitty ones. I live in Missouri.
Not that I would suggest carrying a SBS for defense.
>>29519786
as mush as I love SBS's I'll be the first to admit that they are shitty for everything but being a fun range toy and opening doors.
Well /k/ I've come to you guys for help. I have some money and really want an SKS, where can i get an SKS for Around $350 or cheaper? I dont care if its ruskie yugo or norinco i just want one. Or try to persuade me to get a different firearm in the same price range because i need to add something else to the collection.
>>29519770
Do you live in Canada?
Go to your nearest Cabela's and pick one up for $210 after tax.
Do you live in the USA? Get an AK.
As an American can I purchase an SKS in Canada?
SOG has decent prices on them. After shipping and FFL fees, you're probably looking at closer to $400, though.
