I recently got a lot of shit from people I know when they found out I'd been involved in drone strikes. Not only that but to me it was an exciting day at work was when we got to kill someone.
I think people get too many ideas from movies that whenever a human dies you should feel some kind of anguish or guilt.
>>29541679
How did they find out.
There's hardly any difference between that and a video game in terms of visceral impact I imagine.
>>29541697
Talking about drones and mentioned I'd worked with them
Asked if I'd seen anyone die and I said yes
The response was "I hope you felt hollow inside"

You nerd to put it back underneath the barrel where it belongs, you fucked up and put it too far up the barrel.
Looks like the Norwegians have down-selected DCNS and TKMS for their next group submarines to replace the Ula clas. Being Saab is suffering.
Will DCNS offer the Scorpene or Shortfin Barracuda like with Australia?

They actually had their own submarine industry until China killed it.
Looks like it could be a game changer. Thoughts?

The bullet used in the demonstration video is a 7.62 x 63 millimeter M2 armor-piercing projectile, and was fired using standard testing procedures established by the Department of Justice for evaluating armor types.
Body Armor Based On Snake, Fish And Butterfly Scales
The armor — only an inch thick — features a ceramic strike face, Kevlar backing, and CMFs in the energy-absorbing middle layer.
“We could stop the bullet at a total thickness of less than an inch, while the indentation on...

Exciting stuff, but I'm always wary about these inch deep tech articles.
Anybody got more info on this? I actually live in NC and go to Raleigh pretty frequently.
>>29541520
The other articles are just as superficial it seems. Its so early on in the r&d life cycle it will probably take a decade to see this in the field. It seems its uses in space flight or aeronautics might come first. The bullet demonstration seems easy to hype the material.

Absolutely not. They probably cost under 300 each to manufacture.

Some people I've talked to only shoot it as a novelty. They say it's snappy af, and at times unpleasant.
WIth a mil discount I can probably get one for just over 200 dollars or should I pay 575 for a walther p1?

I love my Tok. Fast, light recoiling ammo, tough as fuck and easy to clean, and surprisingly accurate. Just don't trust import safeties-they only block the trigger and are only there to allow importation. Zastava makes a clone that holds one extra round and has a proper, working safety, making it a viable CC option. My only complaint is that the sights kinda suck.
>>29541121
>light recoiling ammo
Are you serious? A lot of people I talk to say it's too snappy. I'm from Canada so there's no safety.
The gunshoproblem by me has two for $300 each. I think I might buy both

no

Tactical nuclear weapons have eclipsed the city killers. Why destroy entire cities when you can strike with precision where you want and leave the rest for conquering?
do you collect(hoard) ammo /k/?

We don't like guns here, they are scary
My girlfriends dad had this revolver for awhile now and I need help from anyone here to identify it for me. He doesn't have much to go on, only that he bought it many years from a friend. I think it maybe a Colt but it still looks odd to me.
Californians, I've heard your guns are neutered, is that true? Not going into the politics of it since that is banned, but going into the features.
I've heard your AR-15s don't even accept magazines, you are perminant lay stuck with an attached mag
I've heard you can't buy certain colors of guns,
I've even heard you are not allowed to buy a gun unless it has been "drop tested"
Is any of this true? What is it like in California, Hawaii or other states like that? What is different in your guns that is not...

All semi automatic rifles with a pistol grip must have a bullet button, meaning the magazine cannot be removed without a tool.
There's no law against colors of guns
Yes, pistols have to be put on CA DOJ's Approval list before they can be sold for civilian use, which basically means no new designs

Let's have a more whimsical thread, /k/
Let's talk about weapons against the supernatural. Ghosts, ghouls, demons, vampires, werewolves, etc.
What would your SHTF loadout look like? Chalk for drawing circles/pentacles for protection? Canvas bags of salt? Shotgun shells with iron/steel shot inside?
Let's start with a silly and cliche scenario: you're dropping in to explore a big fucking abandoned insane asylum (think Grave Encounters) and you actually expect some crazy shit to go down. What does the kit you bring with you look like?
I tried...

Why is the p250 hated? Is it just the residual dislike for it from its initial release when it had some problems?
>>29540713
Because it wasn't the P320. Everyone was wanting a striker fired polymer Sig, and they decided to make it DAO.
>>29540713
>Is it just the residual dislike for it from its initial release when it had some problems?
Yup, it's pretty much one flaw they didn't bother fixing. They made it DAO. There is literally no reason to get it now that the p320 is a thing
Since I bumped this thread to page 8, let's see if we can find some poorfag that will chime in saying the p250 is great and maybe he will even link that nutnfancy video on it.
>>29542026
>>29540713
Fuck man, that DAO trigger is so damn smooth, I like it loads better than the P320's trigger.
Then again, the internet is apparently full of competition shooters who can only do 2 lb no-travel triggers.
