so I know /k/ hates all things CZ, but am I the only one who kind of wants the Bren? I mean, it's going to be around $2000, but for some stupid reason, I keep thinking they'll release a .308 version if things go well and it'll pretty much be a cheaper priced SCAR17.
Am I crazy?
>>29567500
should be cool as long as the the ATF doesn't come up with some gay bullshit like they did with the galil ace
>>29567500
I've heard bad things about the bren's from quite a few Czech posters honestly, to the point where you wonder why they didn't just make a modernized VZ-58 in 5.56.
Supposedly the SCAR was also in the running to replace the VZ but only lost due to politics.
>>29567511
what were some of the bad things?
I mean, I'm not blindly in love with the bren, it's new as fuck and issues are guaranteed to show.
Are detachable magazines a meme on bolt action rifles?
We all know what's good about detachable magazines, but when I really sit down and think about how I use my bolt guns, I wonder if they are necessary or just a convenience.
Anything I'd really need more than one magazine for I'd probably want a semi auto any way. The only thing I can think of would be those practical precision matches which might involve starting from an empty mag and/or engaging many targets in a single stage. Having a fixed magazine would certainly have a huge impact on your...

Anytime anyone asks "is ___ a meme?" I pretty much stop reading right there, this shit needs to die.
Detachable magazines aren't necessary for anything except actual combat. You don't want a bolt action rifle for combat, you want a semi-automatic.
Most states do not allow loaded long guns in vehicles. If you are hunting you can keep a magazine loaded and be able to load up quicker if you spot a deer while you're still in the truck.
Does /k/ like 10mm Auto or not?
>>29567377
Most of /k/ doesn't own guns
Those that do, probably don't own 10mm.
Those that do, probably like 10mm.
The reason /k/ loves 10mm and 9mm but hates .40 is because .40 came from 10mm, and it is seen as a "Step down" and thus, inferior.
So some of /k/ likes 10mm.
>>29567377
It's a handgun caliber, so it'll kill when it needs to. There's really no purpose to arguing about various calibers.
Only newfags do.
>10MM STRONK xDDD
Jeff Cooper was a fag, and so are his stupid scout rifle dick riding fanboys.
Does grease prevent wear more then oil?
>>29567347
On things like a sig, yes.
>>29567347
Yes, because it stays where you put it.
>>29567347
Physically yes it will, a thicker oil will as well, the downsides are it doesnt creep into tight spaces (sometimes you want that) and it attracts dirt more.
Just change the grease and keep it clean.
Hello /k/. Why do Hind's have these weird bulges on them?
>>29567212
To attract mates.
>>29567212
Air intake covers.
To distract predators.
Opinions on the Daniel Defense DDM4 V11?
How does DD compare to BCM or Noveske for instance?
Is it true that DD is the only producer with its own cold hammer forging machine for barrels?
I was considering this rifle, but I picked up an sr-15 instead
I'd rather have BCM honestly, but they are all great rifles.
I think Noveske is overpriced for what they offer, but I think maybe their barrels are good?
What are you looking to spend?

Kreiger, PacNor, Lilja for stainless

Which of these are button-rifled and which are hammer forged?

Pretty sure I care more about individual particle testing and whatnot than I do about the finish.
So who would be a better soldier?
I've heard that smaller quicker reacting people can take cover more effectively leading to a higher survival rate, but I've also heard that large people are way more resistant to shock and bloodloss.
>>29567158
Yes, both, intermixed, like real human beings.
Also everything you said is bullshit, kill yourself.
>>29567158
Ive also seen statistics that in the soviet army larger men died first while in the SS and to a lesser extent the wehrmacht larger men survived better.
I'll find them and post them eventually
>>29567158
Definitely the guy on the left. It's not realistic to maintain the level of muscle mass you see on the right while on deployment.
It just makes me mad looking at it an knowing what it should be

Hey /k/, I lurk here time to time and I seen people asking this, but should I join the army when I am depressed and just want some meaning in my life? I am currently about to graduate from college (4th year, computer science major) and I lost all my friends do to going to different colleges and some other stupid reason that if someone asks, I can go into the specifics.
I am graduating from an alright college, around 3-4th in state, but I chose not to go to a public school and instead go to a magnet school. Ruined my GPA and graduated with around a 3.2 and SAT score was...

what's with the PPK craze?
you aren't 007. unless you need it to blow your brains out during your hitler re-enactment/cosplay, i see no reason why people would consider this for their CCW. way better options out there with improved ergonomics and tacticool versatility.
>>29567003
Because different people have different tastes, Mr. Glockfag.
I noticed this too that there are like 5 different PPK threads today. And now there's another one. good job faggot.
I might buy one though just because I like it.
>>29567003
You aren't the only person with an opinion in this world. Shocker, some people actually like the PPK.
/lit/ directed me here when I asked about a treatise called Pistofolo. In any case, does anyone know anything about this sort of stuff, and can offer any knowledge/assistance? Also discussion of western martial arts is also welcomed. Thank you in advance!

I study Fiore's system, but no idea about this one bud

Anything focusing particularly on the Halberd by him? And where can I read his works?
>>29567066
>>29567066
Not previous anon, but here:
http://wiktenauer.com/wiki/Fiore_de'i_Liberi
Fiore has a very extensive and interesting curriculum, mainly about dagger and longsword, but there is also unarmed wrestling, all sorts of defense against daggers, spear and poleaxe.
Overall, halberd is not really discussed in historical manuals and treatises but poleaxe is, it's essentialy a sort of short knightly halberd, but they aren't exactly for...

Not sure if lucky or foolish. If I had this reputation where I work, I'd very likely fall victim to office politics in reviews and going for promotions.
Doing the /k/ubes work anon, keep it up.

Hi /k/, what would be your choice for a first shotgun? My price range is around 300-400 (poorfag). I was deciding mainly between the Mossberg 590 or the Ithaca 37. Pros/cons of each? Thanks.
