Coming from someone who isn't the biggest AK fan I don't see the problem here.
Is this a cheap manufacturer or something?
>>29756427
You done good m8. Definitive Arms >>>>> Century. I own a shortened Saiga 7.62x39 and a Vepr 223 with an AR magwell from them. Is the rifle you bought a Polish parts kit gun?
Lets have a thread dedicated to the warbirds of an age when aerial warfare was more romantic. Starting with best named.
Hispanos, 4 of them
WW1 was most romantic.

Right now we could be building a blackhole proton bomb and no one would know except a few scientists and compartmentalized engineers/contractors.

He said he was too pussy to an hero.
Dying due to berry shits or whatever is still pretty an hero.
Op here, not trying to die via exposure, I just want to be free of society and live with myself in a place I can be my own man. Don't care how hard it'll be. I'm okay with death, but I want to survive.

What is the point?
Can't we already obliterate each other, wasn't that the whole point of trying to end the cold war?
Did they forget? We can not still kill like... everyone?

The Jungian Thing
So i just bought four "DH tactical" AR mags for $10 each.
They are USGI mags with magpul anti-tilt followers.
Basically, how badly will they perform? I'm of the opinion that aftermarket magazines for any gun are shit outside of the group of most well known manufactuers (Pmags, Lancers, etc.)
>I'm of the opinion that aftermarket magazines for any gun are shit outside of the group of most well known manufactuers (Pmags, Lancers, etc.)
Yet you bought a bunch.
>>29755404
Well if they turn out to be not shit then i got 4 decent mags for not that much $
>>29755407
If they're bad, just wait until Hillary is elected and sell for 20-30 a pop
What is the most common caliber used in Australia?
Hypothetically if SHTF what would be the easiest ammunition to find and get?
Also, in your opinion what is the most reasonable caliber for the money + accessibility?
>>29755330
.22LR or .303.
Bear in mind that this is Australia and we are absolutely cucked.
My uncle who lives in rural Victoria owned about a dozen guns back in the day, now officially only has one. Rumour has it that he still has an L1A1 but I doubt it because that would mean prison time.
>>29755352
Is .223/5.56 not common there?
>>29755352
Really? Not many people I know have 303. A lot have 308.
Hey /k/, been along time lurker and finally decided to not be a nogunz anymore. Saved up and got a SAM7SF and VPR12. Anyone have these particular models as well so I can compare? The SAM7 was great, besides the folding stock isn't held postively in place while collapsed. The issue I have with my brand new VPR is that the trigger doesn't reset after a shell has been chambered, it has to be manually pushed forward, the stock feels like it takes the hulk to move, and the bolt-home button by the trigger doesn't reset well. Are these normal? Can I fix them? I really...

shameless self bump
needs help /k/
some people have the trigger issue with the vepr on other forums say to replace the spring or trigger group altogether. I could do the work at home, if I knew what to do. Would this be necessary? Or should I take advantage of the manufacturer warranty? Also maybe I shouldn't have labeled this thread as SAM7, when the sAM was great except the easy to release stock, but the vepr had problems.

so anon, why arn't you scamming your local gun buyback with a sack full of wood and pipes?
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/11/17/handing-zip-guns-buy-backs/
>>29755086
Because I live in a freedom respecting state and they don't have buybacks.

>>29755105
They're quite a bit cheaper now since classic firearms ordered a lot, I ordered one just because the last time I saw one available to me was for like 650 and it was in kentucky or somewhere where the seller wouldn't ship.

Sorta, but not really.
They do their job just fine. The best gun is thr gun you're best with. And if that's a revolver, you're good to go.
I think /k/ over thinks revolvers.

How do you US guys name your rifles?
Mx
MxAy
What do x and y depend on? Do the numbers actually have any pattern?
The x is the version of the firearm. The y is the sub model. For example, M16 (version) A4 (sub model). In other words, it's the 4th "update " of the m16.
MxAy
x = number in series
y = model changes
Starts at M1 for each item at about start of WW2, so:
M1 rifle = Garand, then lots of experimental numbers XMxEy where X is 'eXperimental' and 'E' instead of A for changes... until eventually new M14 Rifle, then M15 fullauto variant.... then M16, M16A1, M16A2 etc etc.... so next replacement rifle should be M17 in about another 50 years...
M1 Carbine is first WW2era short rifle, then with change of folding paratroop stock is M1A1 Carbine, with major change to fullauto is M2, then IR sniperscope...

There's a thing I don't get, though.
Let's say you take an M4, an M16 and then an M14. What does the M14 have in common with the other two? And yet it's in between them. It's not like it's an upgraded M4. Also, what does the 'M' and 'A' stand for? I can't seem to get the acronym.
I understand that just scaling down the mechanism wouldn't work, but it's a relatively simple design and I see no reason why it couldn't be adapted into a rifle caliber round.
Are there any problems that could result from the design?
>>29754791
it's called an AR18 you dumb cunt
>>29754797
AA-12: Blowback, open bolt
AR-18: Short stroke piston, rotating bolt

>>29754791
dude...there are litterally hundreds of rifles and pistols that function like this.
