Yes, yes, cavalry has a certain dash to it that no other branch of arms has.
But has cavalry ever been useful outside of non-combat roles (recon, etc.) where the enemy wasn't disorganized or untrain?
It seems like the only way for cavalry to be useful on battle is for Infantry or Artillery to make openings for them (while Infantry and Artillery can be useful without needing another branch of arms to come assist them to be useful)
>(while Infantry and Artillery can be useful without needing another branch of arms to come assist them to be useful)
Oh how little you know
>>29802381
I'm more than willing to learn.

You realize that artillery relies on the ordnance branch right? And that they both rely on medical, logistics, and finance to name a few.
If you're speaking of horse mounted cavalry, they are used as scouts, harass the rear ranks and flank of line infantry, act as shock troops to break a line and create a gap for enemy infantry to exploit.
And it would be hilarious to watch a matross battery fight and infantry regiment with no supporting infantry of thier own. Hint: it would be a short, one sided battle
So all you ever hear on /k/ is "lel wehrboo" any time someone says something positive about Germany, and that:
- Hitler was a moron
- Rommel and German generals overrated
- German tanks were unreliable trash
- German fighters were outdated
- German bombers were crap
- German navy was useless
So tell me then, how the fuck did they take over Europe if they were so garbage?
They didn't. They lost.
Cuz as shitty as they were the rest of Europe was worse. Plus they had the advantage of being the aggressor for the first half of the war, pitching their concentrated strength against the enemy's weakest points, overwhelming them with speed, surprise and violence of action.
That worked well at first but once they got their lines thinned and lost momentum their enemies could start pushing back, that's when the weaknesses in their equipment which they had been blissfully ignoring up to that point became too obvious to overlook.

>Cuz as shitty as they were the rest of Europe was worse
So if we're not judging them relative to their competitors, what are we judging them against?
First time trying to fire my Ak-74. I bought range time and had to get special bullets that wouldn't stick to a magnet, had 100 total for $47.
The mechanism worked fine dry, but when I let the bolt slide back, the round wouldn't feed into the barrel. It stuck out about 6mm or so.
I field stripped it twice to try and fuck with the bolt mechanism, each time it worked fine, no success.
Gun is authentic Kalash make, I had the right caliber bullet, tried two different mags to no avail.
I'm pretty annoyed /k/.
I have both receipts for...

Show us the gun, and the markings on the side, and show us the ammo.

if this thread goes the way I think it will I will be upset

I bought 5.45 shells. If they were marked wrong I don't know.

I have a USP Custom Sport in .45 ACP (pic very related). Great shooter. I'm picking a Tactical with meprolight adjustable supressor height tritium sights with a B&T can for it next week.
Problem ? I have to sell the first one. So, do I keep the fixed non-tritium sights or do I stick with the adjustable ones ?
Also, USP thread, show us your USPs
No one ?
come on /k/ommandos, nothing to say on the best gun you'll ever be able to fingerfuck ?
The USP series us my favorite pistol. I have the compact and the tactical.
What is the best tactical belt?
A regular belt you fucking autist
>>29802039

If you feel like the circumstances demand a battle belt then you should just be wearing your plate carrier.
And you, anon? What have you done for your country?

Why are navies still a thing that exist? The whole point of a navy is to pick up troops from one piece of land, and transfer them across the water to another piece of land, and planes are much superior to boats in that and every other regard.
>defense of coastline
Planes can do that too
>sending supplies to soldiers in foreign lands
Planes can do that too
>b-but submarines!
Are meant to down boats, if there were no boats there would be no need for submarines

I'm trying to lay out my case (pic related) for my AR & mags - currently iron sights. How much space should I leave above the rifle for optics? I'll probably end up getting a red dot & maybe a 1-4x eventually.
>>29801503
Why don't you just cut it out when you get the optic so it fits well?
>>29801533
First reply is best reply.
>>29801533
Because I probably won't get the optic until I've gotten used to the rifle first (babby's first AR)

Does anywhere have M39s other than classic?
I would be willing to shell out some real dosh for one in actually pristine shape.
I hate this rifle, consider converting it to a PU rifle and using it for deer hunting. Any suggestions / help?
My autism demands simulation of WW2 vs. modern army engagements. My local airsoft team is shit and can't into teamwork, so I'll just ask you guys.
Let's say a full platoon (30 men) of WW2 German soldiers are put into a small town to fight a 2014 American platoon.

How protected is the turret roof of an Abrams?
Wasn't it once standard tactic to disable a tank's mobility and then have artillery or aircraft take it out from the relatively thin armor on top?
I don't know of any tank that is well protected from the top, that's why the Javelin has a top attack profile.
>>29801265
>>29801243
An artillery barrage is unlikely to hit the top of a tank. However, artillery can sure as hell stop a tank in its tracks, achieving some sort of kill on those who don't vacate the area.

They're dicks because people are stupid and need to be a little afraid.
I've seen Pajeets posing with a loaded rental AK pointed at their son's head at a range, and people going near-vertical with SMGs they can't handle. Somebody has to be breathing down their necks or there'd be even more of that shit.
If someone gets hurt on that RSO's watch their life is pretty fucked, too.
