Some advice from my hunting /k/omandos. Going on my first elk hunt in AZ zone 6A this september and don't want to spend a fortune getting outfitted. Can I get away with using surplus multicams and my old army boots? This will be my first time hunting anything bigger than a javelina in AZ. Any advice is appreciated.
Where's that at?
>az fag here that hikes a lot of game areas
Well last time I was off lake Mary road I saw much sign of elk/deer
>lots of scat fresh too
> tho lots of old kills in the area from other hunters
>shit load of game ever where
Make a blind with a good line of sight and use a call
Pretty interesting watch although I wish there were more of it
Need advice /k/
>buying custom made knife
>guy is a metalworker
>told me to draw up my knife
>he does fixed blade only
>he says to ask my choice of metal
What metal should I tell him I want.
He says O1 or 1084 steel.
What am I sposta do
Pic is my work knife
I, like probably most people here, have a bunch of knives made from different steels. (some good, some not so good) I would just get one that holds an edge well and doesn't rust easy.
>guy is a metalworker
Stop right there.
Get a guy who's a dedicated knifemaker. Just because he's a metalworker doesn't mean he's good at making knives.
As for what steel, pick what's best for what ever application of the knife you want made.
Have you supported your local minority shooting groups, /k/?
>Realize the A-10 still exists
>realize Australia is waking up
If you gouged out the eye of a blue whale, then stuffed a live grenade in its eye socket, would the resulting explosion kill it?
WHERE IS IT
i don't think it's coming /k/omrade
although i'd gladly pay whatever those krauts wanted if they decide to get their heads out of their asses and start selling them
Thinking about picking one of these up, would it be a good buy or nah?
shot my buddy's P-09 once. wasn't bad. trigger was nice. slide took a second to get used to, but it wasn't that bad. mag was fairly hard to load, but it may have just been stiff.
overall 8/10 it's a good full-size 9mm
I've been tempted to scoop one up at my local academy.
Unfortunately I can't finger fuck it because they got trigger blocks on all their guns. But I'm sure it's fine
The price is rather attractive.
Haven't gone through with it because I am tight financially and anally
I didn't like how low profile the slide was. I reckon that it helps against perceived recoil.
You should do it, OP
Thinking about getting a bullpup style rifle ... does anyone have experience with them? Pros & Cons? Ive been reading lots of articles on line about them.
>reloading seems like a bitch
AUG owner here.
Reloading one is not a bitch it's natural as fuck. They are heavy for what they are. Accuracy apparently isn't the best but is way within acceptable limits. I can answer questions about the AUG.
Beside the first uses of mortars in Afghanistan, I haven't heard much more news regarding mortars.
Is the technology already perfected or what is the cause of this?
they can be aimed with ipads now
trajectory tables for different angles and charges are kept on-board
and the tilt sensors on a spirit levelled ipad input part of the needed data wile its screen provides a visual overlay of the other known data points
theyre used intensively in the current mid east/north africa regional conflicts
if korea/best korea ever pops off theyll be a giant factor in casualty figures.

Lets have a 5.7x28mm appreciation thread.
It may not be the absolute best all purpose round, but its definitely not as useless as a lot of people say.
Can someone explain why in movies where torture is present that the bad guys always fuck up the face and everywhere else by the genitals (outside a few exceptions)?
In real life torture situations, I feel like I'd immediately go for the genitals to get someone to talk. Is there any real life examples of the same or in real life do the toturing parties tend to do what the movies do?
Depends on who's doing the torturing, but I'm assuming that you recently watched Casino Royale.
I just turned 18 and would like to own my first gun. I am looking to spend ~$500. I was looking at a handgun as I live alone in a somewhat bad part of my city for the purposes of self-defence and practice. I think I would like a 9mm and am wondering what /k/ would recommend, or something completely different? I was seriously looking at a Glock 17
Try and find a place that will let you handle them, or better yet shoot them. Find something in your price range and try it. If you like it, get it. Most modern automatics in that price range won't have any issues.
