Can we have one of these threads? Only one I've got on me right now
If this is still up in another 6hours I'll dig mine out.
>actually giving a shit about coins
when do you get out of tech school?
Shall we entertain the age old debate /k/?
Is the reliability argument for revolvers actually valid?
I've heard revolvers may be better for home defense because they can be left fully loaded indefinitely without wearing out any springs or similar mechanisms.
>>29890195
unless you leave your magazine loaded for 30 years there wont be a problem with it, so if you want to make that trade for a big dumb heavy trigger pull and extra tinnitus thats fine.

What a shit thread
Revolvers are not mechanically more reliable than semi autos of a similar quality.
However most semi auto malfunctions are a result of crap ammo, crap magazines, or user error i.e. limp wristing.
None of those will cause a revolver to jam.
So we all sit around jerk off about what's best make holes into people, but what about plugging them up again?
I have the US Army 68W handbook but I was wondering if anyone had any resources besides that regarding combat medicine(preferably a little more streamlined and not filed with a bunch useless stuff). I have a small course booked but it's primarily civvie orientated, blunt force trauma and "wait for the amberlamps to arrive". What do if Miss Amber can't comes for a day or two?

Continue fighting and do normal civie first aid until you reach someone with actual medical experience

TCCC is geared towards "wait for real medics" too. The first thing the course drills into your head is "you are not a doctor". The course is great, but your goal is always to hand off a stablized patent to a professional.
We were taught a lot of keep it simple stupid and did life drills which were made high stress and with curveballs, but were conceptually simple. If you are doing most of your learning from books rather than a live course with supervision, you need to focus even more on...

um some blunt things i know of, never administered
ABC = airway, breathing, circulation. in circulation, apply RICE = rest, ice, compress, elevate. compressing a wound is generally the most simple and effective method you will have.
for head trauma, the glasgow system can be used to diagnose. treating said diagnosis is beyond my knowledge. it is somewhat intuitive
should take a first aid class, or maybe a lifeguard class
my father always just taught me, 'put pressure on it'.
Do you think that destroying ancient artifacts should be considered a war crime? Also stuff like cathedrals, monuments, libraries and museums etc. Where do you draw the line?
>>29889672
>Do you think that destroying ancient artifacts should be considered a war crime?
I don't want to be charged with a war crime for what I did to your mom's pussy, so no.
>>29889676
First reply best reply.
Tbh it should be considered a part of genocide. Destroying a people's cultural heritage is part of destroying all evidence that they were ever here.
Hey /k/. Looking to venture into the world of neck knives. Whats your opinion on them? What are some good ones I should consider buying? Have a favorite?
Hard to get to especially in a tangle.
Id rather have it on the belt line or even on my ankle
Think about it
You have a knife hanging from a loop around your neck under a shirt
its fucking retarded and dangerous
>>29889525
my knives are tools, not weapons. I have no intention of using a knife in any kind of fight.
>>29889534
I see a lot of knife guys who wear them. Is it just a fad? There are some survivalist guys I have been following for a while that claim to really like them.
If a destroyer fought an aircraft carrier, head on, with no support for either side, who would (most likely) win?
Destroyer
>>29889473
How far away are they from eachother?
>>29889473
Both would lose. Destroyer would sink the carrier, and the carrier's air-power would sink the destroyer.
So /k/ I have my last DEP call today before shipping out to basic next Tuesday, anything that I should know before going? I've already memorized the Airman's creed and can meet all the fitness requirements, so i'm not sure what else I can do to get ready.

Practice relaxing your throat for the cock insertion drills.
Also, not much more you can do. If you can beat the pft and already know the Creed you should be good. Learn your general orders. Learn how to polish boots. Make bed, fold clothes, etc. That will put you well ahead. It really isnt that hard, in all honesty. Best of luck to you.
(My apologies for shit grammar. On a stupid ass phone)
>Captcha is airplanes. Kek
>>29889436
I don't need to practice relaxing my throat I've got that down pat, also since my grandpa was navy in the navy I asked my grandma if she could teach me how to sew buttons and iron properly. Also is it a good idea to take two of most things like shower shoes in case someone in my flight forgot to get them?
Are tanto blades a meme? What are the advantages of a tanto point instead of a drop point or spear point knife? I get that it's supposed to be stronger for slashing since more of the blade width is behind the cutting edge, but how much stronger and is this actually worth it? Also I hear they're a bitch to maintain. Pic related just found a random tanto knife.
Easier to maintain than anything with serrations
Oh man u have to sharpen 2 diff angles big whoop

After seen the levels of noise that shooting anything above a 9mm/.45acp produces...
Would you choose a Magnum/10mm/.356sig for self or home defense? I shot a 9mm+P once inside a house once and had my ears were ringing for an hour. And TheYankeeMarshal said at Youtube that a single .357Magnum shot without ear protection broke his eardrum...

Better to be deaf than dead. Soon enough medicine and science will be able to give you bionic ears, idk how long until they can give you a bionic life.
Wanna get my build on as an insurance policy. I'm not really sure what the best lower receivers are these days. Is there really a difference?
To be perfectly clear, I'm talking a stripped ar15 lower receiver
Oh, god damn. If you're just wanting an AR, then get an Anderson or Aero Precision lower. If you're wanting to resell to gucci level people, then get whatever the highest cost billet piece of metal there is. People will pay top dollar for that shit in a panic. Hell, they'll pay $400 for an anderson lower that costs $39 today.
A while back, I want to say like 5 years ago, there was some military or defense guy on 60 minutes talking about a new weapon that he said would change the modern battlefield as much as the tank had. I think the mil released some battlefield footage that accidentally revealed something about the weapon; with it being used in action. It may have been some footage that upon close inspection didn't make sense with what was then understood about battlefield technologies, don't really remember.
Does anyone know what I am talking about or what weapon they may have...

The way they were talking about it it didn't sound like it was a new doctrine or tactic, neither did it sound like a digital or cyber weapon, nor didn't seem like anything to do with modern predator drones (well known about at the time). It sounded like an actual physical weapon.
It was probably footage of the "Berenstein" Bears books that you're thinking of. The weapon was an interdimensional transportation device that moved the free world out of our original dimension and into this current one. Presumably, the middle easterners were positioned to win the war or a nuclear country was launching a strike that would've ensured destruction. Unfortunately, this dimension wasn't entirely identicle. Little changes like the berenstain bears to large changes like the liberal overtaking of US/Europe. They decided and immediate violent...

I can see this used if it were 1 guy that was just holed up somewhere with no hostage of any kind.
But if that thing was involved in a hostage situation and a hostage was killed due to it, that'd be lawsuits and public backlash out the fucking ass.

So we could have laser-armed spookies? Holy shit that's awesome.
Weird tanks that are currently fielded?

Sup /k/ek I was watching Generation Kill over during the weekend, my buddy got cucked while he served, but anyways I'm not sure if it was in generation kill or another movie/show where a wife sends her husband a video of her fucking another dude while he's serving. Anyone know?
