Classic Firearms is out of stock. Was that it? Did I get fucked by being too poor to afford to buy funs for the last year?
>>29915597
Yes. Go buy a m48 before you are saying the same thing.
>>29915637
The k11s are still in stock. Worth it?
>>29915815
Are you US?
I currently own two Mosins (91/30 & M38) and a Savage MkII FV-SR.

>>29915275
How can you say you own something when you have to have a reason to carry a screwdriver?
>>29915331

I plan on adding a Mosin 91/30 PU Sniper to my collection along with a Mauser K98.
At what point do you go from "nice and original" to "nicely restored" to "butchered history"?
Would you consider steel whooling the finish off a semi badly rusted gun, then re bluing it "destroyed, restored, or original (as it technically is the original finish, etc)
Same for varnish/shellac/oil. At what point does it stop being a "clean up job" and move into the realm of "now its either going to be restored or butchered"
I bought an SVT-40 and the shellac looked like total ass and was flaking off on the right side, so I stripped that shit off and gave it a couple coats of linseed oil.
>>29915233
Well it depends on what you want. If you want to experiment and try to modernize a gun, i guess its okay.
But you asked for historical value. I believe that using the same finish and wood furniture usually used on the gun is pretty okay. Maybe even something similar in terms of finish, just slightly different. But never modify the core design, like the trigger, action, or barrel length. THEN it is a different gun, and has lost historical value.
In many cases, it depends on the gun. For example, you can get Krag rifles that have been bubba'd for about $300, but a military-spec rifle is closer to $1500. The collectors that pay over $1K for them are totally autistic for the original, pitted blueing.
>you can't kill someone with birdshot
How did this meme start? I'm pretty sure a 12ga 2 3/4" she'll can kill someone, birdshot or no
That's never been said, it's not a meme, and don't try to make it one. Post fewer shitty threads.

What do you all think of 300 blackout?
>>29914810
It makes for a neat short range subsonic plinker. There are better performing chamberings for the AR platform if your goal is long range ballistics or terminal effectiveness.
>>29914842
Agreed. I figured it had enough punch to make engagements of 100 yds or less effective. A nothing over that I think I might go for .308 / lapua.
>>29914842
Red anybody?
shotgun bread
is the 590a1 as good as people say? looking for a good all-around shotgun; use with clays, bird and deer hunting, etc.
do people make wood furniture for it aswell? not a fan of the synthetic look
>>29914794
You can call Mossberg and order a 500 stock or buy one elsewhere.
For everything you listed, a 26" or 28" barrel would be better than any of the shorter barrels on Mossberg's tactical shotguns.
>>29914838
yes but that equal length tube/barrel is so sexy
are the mossberg 500 series equally durable/rustproof/etc?
any experience w/ benelli supernova?
>>29914873
You can extend a tube up to +8 easily. A 28" is flush at +6 or +7 usually.
The 500 uses a polymer trigger assembly, which is replaceable with the 590A1's metallic assembly.
The 500's come in a lot of finishes, so that varies.
The Nova/SuperNova are great guns, especially for hunting and moderate recreational shooting. They are very corrosion resistant. I do not recommend them for heavy usage like dedicated clay shooting, as they just don't hold up to the tens of thousands...

For whatever reason, I have developed an infatuation with helicopters recently. Post helicopters (doesn't matter what type). Argue about which is best. (Ospreys too, I don't care if they're technically not helicopters) Discuss them so that I can absorb your knowledge.

You had me at yes
I just noticed the great emu wars were actually real.
So.. what the fuck? How the fuck could Australia loose?
Why didn't they anything else but Lewis guns? Gas? Bombs? Something else?
What the fuck, Australia?
>>29914241
Bumping with some hard facts.
Probably just ran out of ammo or had catastrophic stoppages in both guns.
>Why didn't they anything else but Lewis guns? Gas? Bombs? Something else?
In was in the middle of the depression. People were starving. They couldn't afford gas or bombs.
Straya
Some random local politician wants to up himself by getting the army (actually a local militia between ww1&2) to machinegun an emu plague.
On a big flat plain, emus run away as you try to traverse vickers gun at them.
>emu war
Just a dumb political stunt, like building a mexican wall, or pretending they are syrian refugees.
>local boys go out and shoot gunz at emus, get paid anyway, buy beers, whythefucknot
I have found this Colt Python at a gun store 4h drive from home.
Not more pics on it on the web. Suposedly its in good condition internally and just ok outside...
Price is around 550$ (480€), and not for sale online (id never buy it without inspecting it but however)
Worth the drive just to see it? In which condition do you think it has to be for a good deal at said price?
Expect 10% finish and a shot out barrel
>>29914132
Yes. At $550, it's worth the drive just to see it.
You're not doing anything better with your time, are you?
Maybe it isn't worth it if you drive a gas-guzzler.
>>29914132
>Python
>$550
Can't understand why
is this more """accurate""" ?
Monkey see, monkey do.
>>29913771
That's how it came in the box.
Yeah black people suck! Why are they all the same person?!?
What is the largest caliber firearm you've ever heard without hearing protection for any reason?
Speaking in terms of handguns, it was a 6 inch Taurus in .357
for long guns, it was an AR in .308 with a 16 inch barrel. Both of them were accidents. Both of them hurt.
>>29913712
12 gauge pump. Had to put down a coyote that was attacking my 6 month old puppy.
Handgun: .45 ACP, although 7.62 tokarev is worse to hear without earpro
Rifle: uhhh, either 7.62x54, 8mm Mauser, or .30-06, I can't really remember what's the loudest
In general, it sucks but it won't make your ears bleed and you won't have permanent ringing in your ears like some of the pussies on here like to claim.
>>29913826
Yeah, I've heard quite a few gunshots in my life without hearing protection and I only have a slight ringing in my ears that I can only notice when I'm in total silence.
On top of it, I actually have very sensitive hearing.
How hard is it to get a m1/m2 carbine? Anyone know the price ranges or any other information/suggestions?
>>29913691
New or Repro? Auto Ordnance makes them.
>>29913710
It would depend on how big of a price difference for me
>>29913710
Are auto ordinance m1's any good? I am considering getting one, they have a california legal one so I am assuming I can get it (from Long Island)
