Does anyone else here feel sort of..... naked without a gun? When I have to leave my pistol somewhere, I don't feel helpless or defenseless, I just feel like a piece of me is missing. Like I left the house without shoes on, or something. Anyone else feel like this?
>>30001001
bump
>>30001001
yeah, especially went I got out of Iraq. I sometimes carried 2 at once and had another in the glove box. Maybe it was just the stress of changing back into normal life, but id really hate to go through all of that just to get killed by some street thug back home.
I still wont carry anything less than duty sized, but Im now down to just cc'ing one gun.
>>30001001
It's more a feeling like I forgot something. nagging in the back of my head that.
Newfag to /k/ here, I was wondering which rifle is a good one to buy as my first.
I've had a lot of experience with guns, but I don't own one of my own yet (recently turned 18, so I could only use my dad's until now). Caliber doesn't matter to me, I just want a solid and reliable rifle for under $800.
Also my friend has an SKS and I've been looking at that for a while. I'm wondering if I should get that as of now
>>30000852
just get a practical rifle to start with
Id say bolt action hunting rifle with a scope so you get comfortable with shooting
then i would think about getting an AR or AK
12ga shotgun also wouldn't be a bad start
>>30000852
An SKS wouldn't be a bad first rifle. My first was a Nugget, but that was back when they were $80.
>>30000871
This guy has the right idea with a shotgun being a good first gun. They're relatively inexpensive and fun to shoot. Plus practical.
You can build a good AR for around that price. Later, build another upper for a different caliber and use the same lower if you want to hunt larger game or make bigger holes in shit.

How does it feel fellow californians to have been raped today?
everything was passed.
Do you think jerry brown will help us out on this one? the ammo ban and ar ban is pretty shitty.
>>30000790
Not this time. He's not up for re-election and doesn't want to submarine the future Governor or Senator. So prepare your anus.
>>30000884
any luck this stuff will be unconstitutional?
looks like a lot of trips to nevada are going to occur.
the ammo ban is fucking bullshit
all the dem's need to write their reps, especially the mexican ones (DeLeon is making you look like a bunch of pieces of shit)
>>30000904
Oh it's all highly unconstitutional but that's never what they are worried about. It's about:
A: collecting revenue
B: securing voting blocks
C: diminishing opposition
They know conservatives are fleeing the state. That's exactly what they want.
Alright you weird fucks, I need your help.
My family is starting a weed farm, a 100% legal one, and I'm being brought on to be the night security guard because they want someone they can trust. Problem is, I've only ever fired a gun on a shooting range, and only a few times. I have no experience with maintenance. I'm going to be getting a concealed carry permit and get some shooting lessons, but I need to pick a gun. So this is sorta a 'what gun should I get'/'got any tips for someone's first gun?' thread.
It's Oregon,...

Just go with an Ar-15. No need to get all tacticool with your gear though, but a rifle gives you a solid amount of firepower, accuracy and range, all of which will be good if a group of shitskins or tweakers want to take that weed for themselves.
Remember, more dakka = good.
>>30000829
Is it difficult to maintain an Ar-15, though? I don't know much about weapon maintenance. I assume there's plenty of guides on youtube, but I don't wanna half-ass this.
Ironically, the biggest threat is probably actually from all the neo-nazis we've got living in the woods in Oregon. I might end up shooting someone from /pol/
When the Zetas are robbing you and the inventory, take note of what they are carrying and get something comparable.

Have any of /k/ gone to fight alongside the Kurds?
>>30000555
Why? To get no pay and crippled with no benefits? Traitors.
>>30000555
1. How do you even get your AR and shit through airport security and how do you tell them that you're flying into Syria to fight people
2. Why would you fight alongside a bunch of disorganized, unstable rebels? There's a history of middle eastern rebels backstabbing and turning around and not being good
3. Kurds are mudslimes too, right?
>>30000555
Why would you want to?
If you want to blow up some sandpeople, just join the military.
Does anyone own this? Every LGS I go to the past few days, the guys shill this thing to me like crazy but being Taurus, I just turn it down. What's the catch with this thing?
It's the new rage with poorfags
avoid
>>30000442
>What's the catch with this thing?
There isn't one. It's objectively pretty good, except for the heavy trigger. Grip is excellent, sights are shitty, trigger is heavy but breaks well. It's as long as a Glock 26, with a grip length similar to the Glock 19. A decent inexpensive CCW choice.
Considering it sells for 200$ NIB with 2 mags, it's pretty awesome, and Taurus lifetime warranty works okay. I would choose this before a Hi Point. Don't get me...

What the fuck does this even mean

Stop trying to get other people to make mistakes you've made you prick.

Not until you kill yourself.
Do it faggot.

Top one looks fucking ugly to shit.
Bottom is rad as fuck. Shut your mouth
Bottom ship looks badass, if you compared infantry uniforms you might've had a point, but then again only the US Army has terrible uniforms.
Look through catalog, didn't see one.
Scopes and optics general.
Question: is pic related a decent scope to put on my AR10? It's the top one 3x9x40.
Thinking about buying it when I go to the range later so I need to know soon.
>>30000335
I'm going for leopuld fixed power, I have an ar308 I built and it has a 3.5x35 ACOG but I need more magnification. I was thinking 12x
No need for night force etc if it's fixed power they are very sturdy.
Just bought a scar 17 and now I'm sitting here wondering what the hell I'm supposed to put on top of it.
I got an MTAC on ebay for roughly the same amount of cash and I love it.
If you're planning on using it as only a range/hunting rifle, then 3x9 might be ok, but if you're planning on jumping around the house at night just in case anyone might be hiding in your closet n shit, then you'll want a lower base magnification, like 1 or 1.5x to basically give you a red-dot.
Just my 2c
I just cut a bunch of tar paper and it gommed up my knife. How do I get this shit off?

That usually does the trick.
