So Troy is selling their XM177E2 clone true to spec.
This means it has a 12.5 inch barrel, and a 1/12 twist in their rifling.
Assuming you use 55gr 193, what kind of impact would they have in combat?
>tearing through limbs Nam folk lore originated with this specification
Is this true?
it should destablize and fragment the second it hits anything. stuff like brush would stop it

>supporting troy in any capacity
How about no

So completely shit at barriers, but devastating to anything soft ?
Does /k/ know of any operator tier criminals? Like cartel members, bank robbers etc?
Like dudes that pull of GTA shit IRL.

Some U.S. Army Rangers did a bank heist one time....
By definition that's pretty close to what you're asking for, right?
Ok, /k/ -- I know we often see shitposts about retarded new ideas for weapons and cartridges, so bear with me here:
Imagine a high-pressure pistol round with the potential stackable capacity of .32 automatic, the velocity of .357 SIG (or higher), and the bullet weight range of 9mm. Something with a case pressure of 45,000psi (doable thanks to modern metallurgy and pistol design).
The case diameter would be similar to .32 Auto, while the case length would be somewhere near that of the 10mm. With the pressure allowance, I think you could get 115gr bullets to .327...

Sounds like it would result in an ungainly shaped grip. Also pushing 9mm weight bullets at high velocity seems to result in underwhelming penetration when the rounds expand too much too fast.
>>30609779
>what is fmj
kinda cool to have a cartridge inherently good at SD with just standard ball
>>30609712
.30x30 straight cased.
Think 5.7x28 but .30 so you can get carbines to hunt with (in shit states) that are chambered for the same caliber as your armor piercing carry pistol.
Also, .30 caliber P90.
Plus more room for things to be made explosive or to have tungsten cores or whatnot.
6.5 would also be acceptable though the swedefags would never let us live that down.

Hi K.
Where could I find some "44 dot" full camouflaged uniform. Preferably with a hood and bug tamer? Or something similar.
Also, camo dump!

Hey /k/, say a SHTF scenario happens, what do you think is the best overall birdshot round for hunting small game and birds?
>>30608664
I use No.4 birdshot because it cycles flawlessly in my Auto-5 on the heavy load setup.
So that way I don't have to switch the spring setup between bird and buck/slugs.
No.5 works decently well, but I trust No.4 more.
>>30608713
You dont think no4 would ruin pigeons etc?
Nah, they do the same or less because #4 has less shot per oz. You get bbs that carry energy farther penetrate deeper and are easier to pick out #4 all the way.
Will commence dump . Feel free to contribute

Sup /k/, Ausfag here.
We legally have to keep our guns in a safe with the ammo in a separate box, and I'd like to follow that law.
Problem is, in a home invasion it could take quite a while to get to my safe and take out a loaded gun.
So I'd like something that I can keep closer to myself that I could use if I didn't get the chance to make it to my safe.
What's a good melee weapon that I can keep in a nightstand or beside my desk that could give me some peace of mind in case I can't get to my safe?
I'm thinking a large...

/k/ redpill me on titanium, why is it not used more widely in /k/ related products?
It's current year, get good.
>>30601597
Because it is expensive and steel works fine.
In the words of Conan the Barbarian's dad, Steel you can trust.
>>30601625
Were you not willing to pay a bit more for a lighter and more corrosion resistant product?
t. Totally not a titanium retailer.
>>30601667
a bit more is closer to almost 4 times as much for... What exactly? A polymer frame gun would be cheaper, more widely available and lighter.
Sure you can get crazy and make a polymer and titanium gun but who the hell would be interested in it
So police are actually aiming loaded guns in people's faces during routine searches in France

The threat of a chimpout is reaching a probability not seen since the 60s. concerned about keeping the family safe. To me this means being able to use deadly force suppressed. Subsonic rounds are going to be far less effective than a bullet travelling at 3000fps, so to maximize what little velocity it has, a round needs to be designed for subsonic velocities.
Clearly modern pistol JHPs are going to be designed for subsonic velocities if the round is subsonic. Are there any non $2+ a round boutique subsonic rifle cartridges that can surpass a pistol round when fired from an sbr?
>>30614305
reload your own subsonic-300blk if cost per bullet is so much of a concern for you.
>>30614337
With what bullet?
Most rifle rounds won't expand or fragment shy of 1050fps?

I need your help, /k/.
I'm a left-leaning 2A advocate living in California. Last year I built an AR-15 by watchin' the vids on YT. I started with an 80% lower that I had finished at a local CNC. Now I want to do the same thing, only this time I want to build a 1911. The problem is that I can't find a CNC shop set up for that platform and I need advice as to how hard it is to use a drill press to finish a lower.
Pic is my AR build.
>>30621374
you are not building a 1911 with just a drillpress
>>30621374
why dotn´t you just buy a ready 1911 frame?
OP, ignore grandpa fucktard here.
>>30621391
Look up the Ares Armor Rudius 1911, the 80% frame includes a jig for working with a drill press.
