any old fags on here want to share and reminisce about stories on guns, shooting and life in general?
I just turned 37 and I know there are a few of you on here
38. Didn't feel old until I realized a few years back that I was always the oldest in conversations.

Stupid fucking newfags.
You are not an old fag because of your age. You're an oldfag because you've 4chan a long time. For instance I'm 30 and have 4channed since 2005.
I'm an oldfag, you're just old (so am I for 4chan standards). Now you know.
What would happen if I tried to fire .380 Auto out of a .38 Special?
>>30102370
Since it doesn't headspace off the rim, most likely it'll just slide into the cylinder farther. Or, with enough friction, it won't slide and will fire form to the cylinder. Might work. I doubt it would damage you or the gun doing it once. But you're asking for trouble eventually
>>30102370
As it is, in your picture, the firing pin won't even reach the primer anyway

Compra a munição correta, crioulo.
Hear me out and tell me the feasibility of this.
So there would be this business, and it would be set up like a giant fucking range complete with classrooms and shoothouses and various fields and environments for shooting and practicing and events.
The range/business would own tons of various machineguns and DD's. You pay a monthly or annual fee to "rent" your weapon of choice and keep in a special personal locker at the range/armory.
This way you can have and practice with really cool shit and own your own machinegun without the bullshit...

This could also be international since many places allow rentals and shooting ranges but not private ownership.
You could have a global phenomena of people getting into actual guns and weaponry and military training but not have the political costs of people saying "muh chillins"
There would be some sort of security obviously but inside the business the weapon is yours to use.
>>30102355
It would legally have to be your locker under your control.
Feasibility wise, such a compound (being legally run) is simply not fiscally sound.
>>30102355
>Good idea? Or is there some unforeseen issue with this concept?
How is it going to be able to generate the necessary revenue to maintain its massive infrastructure?
Hey, guys I've been open carrying in Louisiana because it's legal without a license. I've been carrying a Colt 1991 Government model, but I just got a concealed carry license and you can't exactly stick that big of a pistol in your pants comfortably. So, is the Sig a good carry gun? I shot it and really liked it, but I haven't heard of anyone I know concealing one. Thanks, guys
>inb4 glock 19
I couldn't shoot worth a crap with it. I wanted to like it, but I just can't.
As sig owner the amount of sig on this board is disturbing. Can't y'all be into 1911s or something?
>>30102081
>I couldn't shoot worth a crap with it
If you can't pick up a gun and shoot it well, it's operator error.
Aside from telling you to buy one just to practice with it - S&W M&P Shield, Springfield XD-S, Kahr CM9/PM9, Walther PPS, etc.
You have an infinite source of knowledge at your fingertips, start Googling, do your research, go to the store/range and fingerfuck/rent a gun till you find one you like.
>>30102101
I'm not looking to jump on the hype train. I like all kinds of handguns and I don't own a sig. I heard they were good guns, so I looked in to their models that are able to be carried and I found the M11-A1
Okay /k/, the majority of posters keep saying that 9mm acts pretty much the same as .40 and that .45 doesn't have much larger of an impact overall compared to 9mm. This seems to be generally accepted and why 9mm is a common carry caliber. But when big animals come into play the calibers seem to develop larger differences. All of a sudden .40 is the smallest caliber you'll carry or only .45 is big enough. If they act essentially the same why the change in opinion?
>>30101996
It probably has something to do with penetration. For general self defense, 12 inches is the recommended penetration depth. I would imagine that number would need to be larger if you're shooting at black bear or something. I may be completely wrong about this. It could also be fuddlore.
Because humans have softer tissue and 9mm is good enough for penetration vs big game with much ticker flesh
>>30101996
Any of those three would be useless versus a grissly. 10mm/357 is really the minimum there

Britains War Record in WW2 - Nothing to be proud of?
Timeline
1936-1939 - Utter cowardice and craven subservience to the Nazi's
1939 - Declares War on Germany. Seriously thinks about declaring war on the USSR.
1940 - Defeat in Norway
1940 - Defeat in France
1940 - Bankrupt, out with the begging bowl. US sends a load of broken rifles and shitty destroyers in exchange for all of Britains gold. USA intecepts British bullion ship of Ghana and confiscates entire contents. (See Clive Ponting - 1940 Myth and Reality for more info on this...

I don't understand if this vitriol comes from a place of insecurity about your own country's contribution (no idea who but doesn't hugely matter) or just being so arrogant to assume that you know best.
And in reference to the Battle of Britain - the material losses weren't the reason for a 'victory'. It was that the Luftwaffe was forced to turn from daylight raids on military objectives to night raids on civilian targets of little military value. That and the number of aircrew...

Was Churchill supposed to declare war on tge USSR? Lol. The USSR all memes aside had quadruple the number of armour and infantry units. They would get shit on by the soviets and the resulting war between the Ruskies and the Burgers would destroy the world and probably result in the USSR owning more of Europe.
>But muh atomic bombs
We literally had two and our production on them was slow as hell so good luck beating the ruskies with the nuclear option.

First time buying a unshot gun.
>>30101250
CCI Birdshot, if it doesn't cycle you have a defective CZ and need to cut off part of your main spring.
I'd use .40 S&W to loosen up the barrel a bit, then your 9mm will cruise right through.
>>30101260
pretty much this, OP.
The CCI shot rounds reall help "season" and coat the internal parts, breaking them in faster.
Just be careful not to cut too much off of your recoil spring and to start off with just a little. Just shoot, cut, and repeat if necessary until your slide cycles through at least 20 rounds properly.
Happend yesterday in Switzerland at the range Brünig Indoor. A 12.7mm cartridge detonated in the magazine injuring the shooter.

/k/, what's the best plate carrier out now? I'm tempted to buy a LBT 6094 during their Memorial Day sale ($299) but I hear that carriers with swift clips are the new hotness. Velocity Systems Scarab Light seems like the best of the bunch. What do you say?

I read on the German Wikipedia that cruiser Blücher entered the Oslofjord at a low speed with the purpose to avoid detection. This brings me to the question: does a battle ship produce significantly more noise when it drives faster?
>>30100715
Does your car make more noise when you floor it?
No they do not. I would guess that it had some thing to do with their smoke from their smoke stack or their timing to avoid patrols and get a gap between them
>>30100739
The way ship engines work they make less sound when the engine is in the operational range. Too fast and and it will sound like a car bouncing the rev limiter and too slow and the piston cycles will be so slow that they each make a vibration that carries pretty far like an unmuffled compression brake in a big truck like a dump truck or a 18 wheeler
