Alright /k/omrades, i want to get a handgun, preferrably in .45acp or 10mm, but my budget is around 350 for the gun itself. What do I get?
If budget then 9mm.

Ok ANY handgun then.
How does the Mi28 Havoc compare to the AH-64 Apache? Is either one superior in some way to the other?
One is better armored ones more maneuverable
The 28 has a bigger combat load and can use bigger rockets the 64 can use F&F Missiles.

>the AH-56 never entered production
it hurts to live
Mi-28's record thus far hasn't been particularly impressive.
With all these riots, protests, and other forms rampaging mobs all over the world, I cannot help but get a little ansty.
What kind of weapons that would be suited to protect oneself from a large and hostile mass of folks? Got any strategies to protect one's home and place of work from a riot mob?

The origins of the Boyevaya Mashina Pekhota (BMP) lay in the understanding that the next war would be fought in the shadow of the mushroom cloud. The Soviets were pioneers in this regard, not only resulting in a new vehicle, but a radical...

OP: As always, feedback, suggestions wanted and appreciated.
The experience of the BMP-1 in the Middle East was not a happy one. Employed against Israel in 1973, around 40-60 of Egypt’s BMPs were destroyed or captured, and 50-60 Syrian BMP-1s. Certainly, the consensus was that the BMP was fast, using the new pattern of T-64 tracks and a simple driving yoke steering system, yet it suffered from a litany of shortcomings. The interior was too cramped for a full complement of 8 troops, and hatches had to be left...

More tank news, as per the new format.
If you have more queries regarding a news story, just point it out, and I’ll further elaborate and provide links.
Israel’s Namer CEV had passed a series of operational milestones, overcoming deep terrain and emplacing a self-deploying bridge.
Russian diplomatic action has resulted in the return of a Magach tank captured during the 1982 Lebanon War to the state of Israel, transferred from Syria to Israel. However, there has been no concrete information regarding...

How to shoot clay /k/?
I started yesterday and it s hellafun but i was aiming with the bead (i shoot rifles) the instructor told me to stop doing that, alligne the bead with the barel and then look up and "go with instinct" i went from 80% accuracy to 20%...
There Is someting i don t understant about the "not aiming" thing . How am i supposee to make sure the barrel is on target ?
(Post e this yesterday but it 404d too fast, did check some youtube videos but didn t find any about the basics)
>>30165433
Your instructor sounds retarded
Aim with the bead, just make sure you cant see the top of the rib
>>30165433
A lot of instructors tell you not to aim with the bead, at least in the UK. I think its so you have two eyes on the clay or something, but I don't really know why.
Use the bead and point it slightly under the pigeon (shot pattern varies by gun so you will have to practice). Depending on the angle of flight you have to lead it too. Also have you patterned the gun?

Why are Germans incapable of winning long-term wars?
>>30165222
Thy don't have a mass of resources to call on.
At least not to Russia or Britian levels.
>>30165222
They always bite off more than they can chew
Extreme nationalist sentiment can lead a country to believe it's stronger than it is
Prussian and later German military doctrine was always focused on quick, deciding, preemptive attacks in order to make the war as short as possible because due to their lack of resources and natural borders they would always end up getting bled out eventually.
Why so shitty?
>In 1977, NATO members signed an agreement to select a second, smaller caliber cartridge to replace the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge.[8] Of the cartridges tendered, the 5.56×45mm NATO was successful, but not the 55 gr M193 round used by the U.S. at that time. The wounds produced by the M193 round were so devastating that many[9] consider it to be inhumane.[10][11] Instead, the Belgian 62 gr SS109 round was chosen for standardization. The SS109 used a heavier bullet with a steel tip and had a lower muzzle velocity for better long-range...

>55 gr M193 round is devastating
>5.56 is dumbed down because "inhumane"
I thought armies shot to kill and incapacitate.
What's the humane concern about?
Do hunters even use 5.56x45mm?
If we ever fight against an enemy that uses body Armour people wont be complaining.
I still wouldn't want a hole punching though any part of my body by any kind of round. If we didn't force ourselves to treat enemy wounded their casualty rates would be sky high as lack of medical care would kill thousands.

SS109 was selected because it could penetrate Soviet helmets, not for any wounding abilities. Militaries of the world don't even take lethality into consideration when selecting calibers. The driving force behind selecting the SS109 was long range penetration and accuracy at distance.
I'm getting my first AR-15 today as it is my birthday. I have a general idea as to what I want to do with it but I'm curious if there's any absolute essentials I should have for the rifle.
I've been around weapons all my life, I currently have two .22 rifles and one handgun stored away in my room, so this would be my first intermediate-caliber weapon. I'm looking more for suggestions and what /k/ommandos think are essential for an AR platform. Pic related, but I'm not sure if this is the rifle I'm getting.
>>30164803
>absolute essentials
Do you mean accessories or do you mean essential to the AR build itself?
>>30164808
Accessories, sorry for lack of specifics
4 Things:
A sighting system of some type. This could be a red dot, scope, or just irons, tho ide recommend something other then buis for this
A good white light and mount. If the rifle is going to have even the possibility of defensive use, it needs this.
Good mags, at least 6.
Ammo.
I recently got to fondle one of these at my local dealer, and I liked the way it felt and all that. But I was a bit turned off by the fact that its Century made.
Do any /k/ommandos own one?
Whats they deal with them, are they shit?
The C308 are not bad. Century actually outsources it's rifle building to other manufactures. The ones that work on C308 actually got it right. It's their USA AKs that are garbage. I have heard that WASRs are getting better.
if you like it get a PTR 91 instead. same rifle, but made with the actual hk blueprints/tooling and not hammered together by illegals. its only $2-300 more as well.

The finish on Century AKs is so bad. I fingerfucked one at my LGS the other day. It looked like matte black paint from a spraycan, and it was bubbling in places. On a goddamn new rifle.
Military training thread
ITT: we discuss the real purpose of contemporary military training
ITT: I raise some issues deriving from the fact better warrior training can be achieved privately by most individuals, without joining the army.
I also argue such private training might be best training for most practical purposes.
I have detailed my views in the following 4 posts.
TL;DR =
### For those of us who still want to adhere to such ideal of:

Some people here on /k/ celebrate the army and the military in general. But, apparently, unless you are some kind of officer, special ops, or have some special role (e.g. doctor, mission planner, sharpshooter), life in the army means endless training which is not meant to boost your skills but just to dumb you down.
This "dumbing down" is necessary to make you a functioning gear in a bigger apparatus.
The aim of most of this training is to transform...

It goes unsaid, however, that the self-sufficient and autonomous warrior advertised by ancient textbooks is a figure that does not work very well in contemporary conflicts.
