> What's this thread about?
As usual this thread is for the discussion and pics of tracked and wheeled AFVs of all kinds from MBTs to supertanks to self propelled AA guns. Please keep it civil and cite sources for statistics.
No sooner had the BMP-1P been rolled out than the GBTU commissioned further efforts in improving the glaring inadequacies of the IFV that had been painfully explicated in the Middle East. In 1974, two parallel ventures, Object 675/681 and Object...

OP: As always, feedback, suggestions wanted and appreciated.
Much like the BMP-1, the BMP-2 would see extensive use in the Middle East, this time in the rugged foothills of Afghanistan. It is now well known that the comprehensive elevation and traverse offered by the BMP-2 was greatly prized in fighting in high altitudes, and certainly the 2A42 had a substantial amount of effectiveness against infantry positions. However, its side armour was not adequate against concentrated enemy heavy machinegun fire, which...

More tank news, as per the new format.
If you have more queries regarding a news story, just point it out, and I’ll further elaborate and provide links.
Exercise Anakonda has commenced in Poland with a multinational involvement including a significant US military presence, comprising 31,000 soldiers from 24 countries. The activities in the proceedings include a mock air assault operation, live fire drills, field training and cyber and electronic warfare exercises, among others. Unfortunately, it appears that one Polish civilian has been killed in a collision with a military convoy.
Raytheon’s Mission Support and Modernization business core competency is currently examining stockpiles of M60 Patton tanks worldwide, and in concert with the US Army to compile upgrade packages to sustain their combat viability into the future. Upgrades include comprehensive armour improvements, as well as gun and engine changes, and some other features like Jordan’s FCS upgrades.
Around 1536 companies have confirmed their attendance at Eurosatory in Paris next week, with the US continuing to be a dominating foreign presence, booking 136 companies. A notable increase in Latin American involvement has been seen, with a debut by Colombia as well as record attendances by other countries such as Brazil and Argentina.
Brazil has received a total of 50 armoured vehicles from the US Excess Defense Articles (EDA) program. This includes 12 M113A2 APCs, 34 M577A2 command vehicles and 4 M88A1 ARVs.
Portugal has had its final Pandur II vehicles delivered from GDELS this week. 14 vehicles was delivered, completing a final batch of 22, of a totally contracted 188 Pandur IIs of varying patterns.
The Republic of Korea Army plans to deploy 600 K806 and K808 armoured vehicles from 2016 to 2020. The two vehicles form Hyundai Rotem’s bid for the DAPA’s wheeled AFV project, in response to a shortage of all-terrain vehicles to transport infantry.
And that’s all for now.

I'm not even mad, but that looks like shit to me. Then again, I get a boner for deep bluing and dark walnut so that's probably why I don't like it. Everyone has their own tastes.
>>30171202
My one issue is how the metal clashes with the lighter colors
Find a flaw

It's in a pistol caliber
>>30253046
Rifle calibers aren't needed in all applications.

I just found out that "glimmer" is a new feature that costs an additional $1.5 Billion and involves another re-design.
What was the first pistol you guys purchased? I've never owned a gun and I'm looking for something to just take to range on the weekends for fun now. Pic related is the weapon I'd choose based on looks alone but it's a bit pricey. I'd probably be looking to spend no more than $500, is that too little? Would it be cheaper to go to a gun show instead of a store? I live in NY state :/
>>30252202
glawk 9mm. Was pretty cheap back in the day.
450? at a big box store in early 2000s.
>>30252202
I have a SA 1911 RO Champion, and I really like it. Not sure if I'd buy it again given the price, but I don't regret the purchase.
Test
/k/ the only gun I have to protect me twonight is a remington 870 12ga with a 34" barrel.
My ammo of choice is target shot
Am I fucked if some mudslime decides to enrich my wife tonight? I need some tactical advice, please
>>30252008
Not at indoor ranges, no.
You might order a shorter barrel and order some #1 lead shot loads, though.

Or you head to Walmart and get yourself some 00 buckshot.
>>30252008
Get some #4 buck or greater and you should be fine.
Enough /pol/ talk for one day. Let's talk about shooting stuff.
https://youtu.be/FOFy9C9TKa0
How do I get over blinking when I shoot?
>>30252424
I know right, talk about things you do about or with the guns you actually own. Then again, how much of /k/ owns a real firearms? 10% maybe?
With this shooting being far worse than Sandy hook a gun run in the coming months and an ammo run is almost a given.
Let's discuss the impending runs and potentially how bad it could get if hillary wins.
How high will prices go?
What sort of ammo will become hard to find or very expensive?
Will ARs become the first to go?
Discuss.
Bump 2
My guesses
Ammo to go first 9mm and 5.56
Guns: ARs and 9 mm handguns particularly glocks because muh branding and shit.
I am hoping the price of sigs does not go up I want a 938
Bumping back up
>>30251068
Fuck and .22 was just become cheap and available in my area again.
anyone else wish that japan wasnt so cucked with firearms so you could see what neato designs they would come up with and export?
I wish I could get guns from every country, including Japan.
>>30250955
I want a type 64 so badly that can handle NATO standard 7.62x51mm
>>30250955
Yes. It would do Japan good if they could export since howa 89's cost $3,500 to make and minibea pm9's cost ~$6,500
What does /k/ think about the SA80?
>>30250901
L85A1 is a garbage
L85A2 is a decent rifle
>>30250901
The SA80A1 was a piece of shit but the SA80A2 is solid.
>>30250901
I liked it, yes the original had issues but with the modifications I really liked it. It was well balanced, comfortable and easy to use.
There will be people who bitch and moan about it but they probably never handled it and only listened to the memes.
Overall a good weapon, sometimes a bitch to clean but I liked it.
With all the panic buying going on and off for a few years.
Why doesn't anyone on /K/ open up an Ammunition Factory?
I'm a britfag so I'm not to clued up on it but surely its something doable and just needs some money behind it and some licenses?
I mean you would make some great money.
>>30250870
Bumping for curious intrest, /k/ making a munitions and possibly eventually a weapons manufacturer.
>>30250870
ATF won't approve any new ammunition facilities.
>>30250906
Why not?
