Hey /k/
I'm in DC for the day. Is this museum worth driving to?
>>30320219
Bump, I will be heading to D.C. next month
>>30320219
Probably just has a bunch of muskets on display since "assault weapons" are too scary. Remember, this is still DC
It's alright. Been a while since I went.
They have a nice range in the basement, if you bring your own stuff.
It's not very good!
>>30320180
DELET THIS
>>30320180
Well... It's basically a revolver cartridge carbine, so....
>>30320180
It can't penatrate winter coats

i have a hypothetical for you /k/. could you carry 2 colt navy revolvers? they have plenty of stoping power if you carry at least the .36. they also prouduce a fair amount of smoke so if you find yourself in a sticky situation could you escape by fanning the hammer? in a building it seems like it may work. discuss.
>>30320174
If you fan the hammer you'll get spent caps stuck in the action
Yeah, you COULD if you wanted to, but it'd be retarded unless it's literally your only option.
You COULD carry it, nothing stopping you if you're legally allowed to carry.
But /should/ you though?
if it's the only pistol you got, than maybe. if you're buying it as a dedicated carry piece instead of the other myriad of cheap options in cartridge handguns, i'd say you're a tad soft in the head.
That said, i do carry mine innawoods. but only because it makes a good companion for my flintlock.
thought this was funny as fuck
balken war thread i guess.
they are selling handmade surplus chest rigs on ebay i guess.
>>30320154
My family survived the war and my dad spent 8 months in a concentration camp, I'll stick around and answer any questions for a little while.
>>30320167
Was your family in the Prijedor massacre?
>>30320167
do you have anything from bosnia that he kept?
assuming you're bosniak
BulletSafe Alpha vest
Anyone have experience/insight?
Thinking about their level III plate
Alternative civilian options?
I already have a full gunsafe but I figure vests are next for restrictions, so why not?
If you're getting plates you might as well get level 4 ceramics. Otherwise concealability and breatheability is important stuff for soft armor.
>>30320141
Correction: IIIa with their ceramic add-on
>>30320153
Yes, thanks
>>30320141
Dunno about said vest itself, but I have few armor carriers of my own, including couple IBAs.
>Thinking about their level III plate
Good enough for intermediate rifle rounds and .308, so you got the basics covered. You could consider a III+ plate though, as it provides slightly better protection (rated for AP variant rounds of the mentioned calibers of Lv III, capable of stopping .30-06), and tends to weight mere half what Lv 4 plates do.

Why did the atf go to the Branch Davidian compound in the first place? And why are people not outraged about it
>>30320120
They were selling too many guns at gun shows with out a FFL, for the ATF's liking.
>>30320120
Clinton Administration on the MSM did decent enough job to make it look like it was all the crazy cult's fault. That their leader was a pedophile.
the rest is because of how long ago it was.
>>30320120
Something about a mail man freaking out because a box full of M16 parts (not firearms) broke open during transit
/K/
I just traded in my S&W642 for a brand new S&W 686+ with a 3 inch barrel. $600 out the door (after the trade in).
I have been eye balling this gun for a while now and decided to pull the trigger (no pun intended)...how did I do?
>>30320091
This is what I traded...got $200 for it.
why would you accept $200 for a S&W snubby?....Especially on a trade in value.
Yeah, you got jewed on trade in value.
How often do you clean your guns, /k/?
>>30320078
1-2 times a year.
Not often.
>>30320078
looks like you didn't shoot your rifle very often, looks like new.
Augusta Maine Fags, any of you watching the micro-jet give an airshow? Bretty fun.
That's rad, it's so cute.
>lewis and Clark performance
Adorable!
Now, how can we weaponize it.

Statement:
Each platoon can now bring it's own CAS. At least to take out single strongholds (machine-gun nests, sniper positions ande the like).
How idiotic or wise is my statement.?

You'll find that man-portable UAV's have a very low payload, it could maybe drop a few grenades or some other explosives, but nothing significant.
The best thing about drones is their observational ability.

How about a downward facing claymore mine?
What would it take to set up a personal firing range in NC ?
Your first born and left testicle
>>30319621
A backhoe, a big back yard, some concrete and a few pallets of cinder blocks.
As long as you are not in the city limits and have significant amount of land to shoot on all you need is a good enough backstop. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the sheriff comes out for noise complaints if you have asshole neighbors. I usually showed them the range and back stops when they come out and let shoot my ump and they leave happy and tell the person that called to fuck off.
>Gets a 1911 9mm
Ahahaha
>implying 9mm 1911s aren't awesome
>implying jmb wouldn't have wanted it that way
Why is the 1911 so much more popular in America than the hi power, which is much, much more popular in other countries?

How would a nuclear war play out? For the sake of simplifying speculation, lets say it is between the US and USSR in October of 1962 during the Cuban missile crisis.
You always hear people say that we have the capacity to destroy ourselves many times over, but at some point one or both sides is going to lose the capability and/or will to keep launching nukes. When will that be though? Would the nukes keep coming until one side is completely leveled? Would they just nuke important targets with the intent to invade and occupy the opposing country? Would one or both sides...

Mutually Assured Destruction

The US had a major advantage over the Soviets in October 1962.
The US would have probably been hit but the USSR would have been destroyed.

Why are most handguns so damn problematic? I haven't been into guns long (maybe a couple years?), and I've bought prob 10 over that time. I swear to you the only ones that didn't have some issue were a Glock & a Sig. And these weren't shit brands I was buying, but Smith's, Kahr & the like.
So either I have extremely shitty bad luck, or there's way too many quality issues with firearms that get passed along as "just the way it is". I'd kinda expect of all things in this world that firearms are held to a way higher standard...

What issues have you had with them? If you're inaccurate AF, then bench the gun, see that it is remarkably consistent and you just suck. If there are quality issues that actually hinder functionality, then send it to the manufacturer to address.
There is so little information in your post, I have no idea where to start.
>>30319514
Just a bunch of things. Failure to ejects, light strikes, doesn't like certain ammo brands, mag drops, etc. All scattered across all the guns I've had. It was always SOMETHING. To the point where I was coming to expect problems with every new gun purchase.
A nice handgun isn't the simplest machine...
It may seem simple when looking at it, but a shitload of engineering goes into every handgun you buy. These are relatively small pieces of technology with a lot of complex parts that are subject to a lot of force when in operation. Also consider that the fuel source that drives the whole operation can vary slightly from one loading to another, introducing more variables. It just comes down to good engineering & good manufacturing, some companies just do this better than others, period.
I agree with you though,...
