What do you build or buy to defend yourself with?
A firearm

Range=king
Polearm>sword>axe>bludgeon
I would probably look for a small bow first though, then a short spear

Through your ffl.
Does anyone on /k/ own a fully automatic weapon?
(Please keep the thread clean- don't post any self-incriminating photos and such)
>>30334681
Very very few, if any. I don't.
>>30334681
I have some bottle cap openers
>>30334681
Of course not! I don't /NEED/ one after all

Are there a lot of people with degrees in SF or Ranger Bat.?
Anybody just leave whatever field they were in before and just enlisted to follow your dreams?
>>30334549
Oh and for someone who left a promising career or salary to enlist, How did that go for you? Any regrets?
I'm gonna be a senior in High School next year and Army Special Forces are appealing as fuck. The problem is I'm 130 and 5'10 with no fucking muscle and I have no idea how to bulk up or prepare for anything, can anyone give me advice on how to prepare for this (I'd be going in after I finish college)
Has anyone here fought in any of the recent (1990+) wars? It seems like /k/ has a very small veteran population for a board centered around guns and warfare.
>>30334519
I survived highschool
>>30334541
That doesn't count. I'm talking Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Afghanistan, etc.
>>30334556
2 Tours in Afghanistan , couple firefights nothing spectacular . But impressive considering what army i was in
In a completely SHTF dark ages sent back 1000 years scenario. Will we re-discover guns/gunsmith? Or for that matter black powder?
What happens when the last round is wasted. Will we re-discover how to mold and craft .22 all the way to .50 CAL?
Will our re-discovery look exactly the same as the old guard? Or will it be new designs?
Are we going to revert to swords for a time being and our grand children use our old AKs ARS and shotguns as blunt weapons?
>>30334492
>Will our re-discovery look exactly the same as the old guard? Or will it be new designs?
Probably so, there will be relics and obviously books that survive. Craftsmen of that time will base their designs on the rusting relics and books they read.
We used up too many fossil fuels. If we regress that far space is closed to is forever and we die out the next time climate or disease or natural disaster kicks our shit in. Gg no re.

Air rifle wouldn't do this ?
>>30334415
Yes it would?
A slingshot could do that.
>>30334415
a thrown pen can do this

Not really /k/ related specifically, but I always like to listen to Dan Carlin's Hardcore history and Mike Duncan's History of Rome and Revolutions. Carlin is better as a storyteller than as a historian, though, so take it with a grain of salt.
>>30335197
Cheers
>>30335263
I'm not familiar with Mike Duncan but I'm a big fan of Carlin's. If you haven't already checked it out, Daniele Bolellis History on Fire is really good too.
so. I'm looking at getting a PTR91 and I'm at a toss up. should I stick with the Solid stock or switch to a surplus collapsible one?
>>30334304
Both are nice.
I just bought a PTR-91 hasn't arrived yet.
Personally I'd get a fixed stock for slightly better ergonomics plus it can hold the receiver pins.
I put a folding tanker stock on my AK and a different muzzle break. It's pretty pleasant to shoot.
Get both.
The collapsible stocks are retarded expensive and provide virtually no cheek weld. Stick with the fixed stock.
Lets have a thread where we talk about life in the not so great states.
I'll start with a question or two:
So I'm moving from NJ to MA. Not much of an upgrade, but what are the firearms laws in reality compared to what's in the books?
How much of a pain is it getting a basic FID?
After said FID, what does it take getting a firearm?
Is a CCW obtainable?
>>30334252
Personally I don't think Georgia is shitty, but god damn there no one in this fucking state, everything is at least 20 miles away, and it's like 80% humidity all the time. The gun laws are great but man it gets lonely sometimes.
(Also have this wall-paper I made)
>>30334252
California here.
I got into guns this year and now they are taking them all away. It sucks.
>>30334364

What?
Califag here, 10rd limits are gay
Dad and I found this wreck of a shotgun in the attic of his house. There's no serial number that I can find can you guys help me identify the make and model? It's a 12 gauge, possibly from the 70s. Thanks
>>30334142
Looks like a Mossberg.
>>30334142
Probably a Mossberg 500.
>>30334142
Flat angled receiver back means Mossberg.
Aluminum triggergroup prolly means 590.
Longass barrel and fudd grip means it was a hunting model.
Go read the fuckin barrel you retard. I can see the stamping right there in the picture.
FiFi, the only flying B-29
de Havilland Mosquito, one of only two that are still flying. Some crazy brits came up with the idea of making a plane out of plywood.
Vought F4U Corsair, the first plane designed to exceed 400mph.
North American P-51 Mustang. These thing were still in service with the Guatemalan air force until the 1970s.

I don't see why this even needs to happen. We already fill in officer positions with civilians, they just get a GL rank equal to the military rank the position requires. Only difference is their not required to meet military requirements like pt
>>30334949
You don't under stand OK. We need to turn our military into an unusable pile of shit so that we can stop it from being a pile of shit and end all war forever. Ok. god would understand tbqh.
>>30334949
You would have to have a bachelors degree to become an officer, where as if this scenario played out, anyone with useful skills could become an officer.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck, Based Black man says he is going to retired after the presidential election from the SCOTUS. Dude is the most pro fun judge on the court. How fucking fucked are we?
He's banking on a Trump win. Imagine SCOTUS with four Trump appointees for the next thirty years.
