What materials could you use other than lead to make bullets at home? Is there something that isn't toxic, or is perhaps more more economic?
Are steel bullets a thing? They seem like they should be.
Cooper with an steel core. Or also some zinc allow but it wouldn't be cheap.

Are there any /k/ommandos that build lightweight/compact rifles? Post what you've got.
>>30352696
>build lightweight/compact rifles
you mean a pistol?
>>30352696
Correct me if I'm completely wrong but- if you have a folding stock why not put an actual stock on it instead of leaving it a nub? (Unless you don't have the papers and it still is a pistol legally) Wouldn't that be much better?
That looks like a mix between a Luger and a Tec-9
As you know, California has some of the most strict gun restrictions in the US. Namely,
>no clips larger than 10
>no concealed or open carry (de facto)
>no automatic weapons
>etc.
What's the best home defense handgun for someone under california restrictions? I'm thinking it should be compact and chambered in .45 ACP to get your money's worth considering the magazine restrictions. Extrapolate your onions.
>>30352674
forgot link to california gun restrictions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_California
I'm pretty sure NY and Hawaii are more restrictive. It's almost impossible to (legally) own a gun in NYC.
>>30352682
you're right, but I never made the claim that California was the MOST restrictive of ALL the states.
ok, so i ordered a fn15 on the first of the month and the money came out of my account on the 5th, i called on the 10th to see if it was in and they said no, this place is pretty good, i've ordered a couple of rifles before and they came within a week or so, this is the first ar type i've ordered, should i back off and let the order come in or should i ask about my order? the reason i'm asking is because of everything that is going on in orlando (after i had placed my order and they took the money and i called the first time) i don't want to make it look...

Should have just bought a Colt, the price on them tanked and they are milspec.
>>30352646
I'd wait a few more days and check back.
If its still nothing, keep pestering them. Don't worry about looking like a sperg. If they can't handle customers concerns, they don't deserve your business.
>>30352874
> Buy Colt from the same place
> Have same proble> Also, implying an FN15 isn't milspec
Colt-fags are the worst.
Simple go in once a week, each time get some ammo, mags, gun stuff. Then while your checking out ask them how your order is going. After 3-4 weeks go to another store and see what's up.
Building my AR and next part is the upper. Needed or not? I've never used the one on my other AR other than showing what it can do.
I like the idea of saving weight and trying it out with out it.
>>30352399
If you go without forward assist, you will regret it.
>>30352463
k
why?
My SR-25 doesn't have it and I have never needed it. I have used it with blanks on my can cannon thou
Me and my friend recently got into an argument about whether or not the M14 ever had a 3 round burst. I'm fairly certain that it never did, but he seems to think that the M14s given in vietnam had burst fire. My question is which one of us is right.

To answer your question, Yes Originally they were manufactured select fire (full auto only), but were later converted to semi auto only because it could not be fired accurately in full auto and was a terrible waste of ammo
Should I buy my m83 battlejacket from the kommandostore? Literally can't find anywhere else selling one.
https://kommandostore.com/south-african-defense-force-pattern-83-battle-jacket/
Bump.
Does anyone know a better place to get a good one?
Is $150 too much to spend on one?
Is the kommandostore a respectable site?
>>30353637
mad max really jacked up the price on that vest.
why do you actually want it?
150 bucks will buy you better more modern gear youve got options. unless your dead set on it then pay what you gotta pay
>>30351952
They're literally the only place importing them as far as I've seen. Unless you have a friend actually in South America or Britain who can hook you up with one off the SA version of ebay, you're shit out of luck outside of the KS. The ones you see for like $50 or whatever on EBAY are all airshit knock offs.
I've ordered 2-3 times from them and it's always gone well. If you don't get one from them you probably never will. Not even shilling, they're just that rare in the US...

Which does /k/ prefer and why?
Striker. I've done the DA/SA thing and didn't like the inconsistency of the first vs second trigger pull. Also, DA/SA to SAO conversions almost always have camming. If you're going to do hammer, just do a 1911; otherwise just do a striker fired (not an XD)
>>30351764
Why you no SAO or DAO?
>>30351764
DA/SA.
I'd rather simply practice with a single DA and then go to SA instead of having a shitty trigger 100% of the time.
I also simply tend to enjoy firearms that are DA/SA and not striker.
Lugers seems to avoid the problems that striker handguns have almost entirely though for some reason, and thus, I like the Luger system of striker firing.

TO THE TOWN OF AGUA FRIA RODE A STRANGER ONE FINE DAY
So I plan on purchasing my first gun soon, but I can't decide whether I should go with a shotgun or a handgun. I'll mostly be using it shooting targets at the range, but I also want something that will serve me well in the event of a happening. What do you guys think?
By the way, the shotgun I'm looking at is a Mossberg 500 SP, and the handgun a ATIGFX45MIL (pic related).
I'd do a handgun personally. ATI might be identical to RIA's, but I'd still do a RIA 1911, and you may want to do the 'tactical' version where it has nicer sights (and a better dovetail cut for more replacement sight options) as well as a beavertail grip safety
>>30351653
I was looking at RIA, but I'm trying to keep it at around $400, and the tactical RIA's seem to be closer to $500.
>>30351601
Mossbergs are GOAT, but shotguns are expensive to shoot.
A handgun will be cheap to practice with, and serve you very well during a happening (concealable, handy, plentiful ammunition, lethal).
Don't know anything about ATIs tho.
