I just ended my life as a no gun and I just got this mossberg mav 88. I'm thinking of a name for it but can't think of one. Also post your's and there names.

While I'm not a fucking faggot and don't name my guns, my Glock 17 is known colloquially as honest abe amongst my range friends because the serial number starts with aabe.
>>30445404
No, I don't name inanimate objects
usually i just call them by their brand names, unless i have two of the same brand. then, i call them by their model names. when im talking to noguns or new2guns i'll usually refer to the guns by their action type
e.g.
>the benelli
>the supernova
>the pump
would all refer to the same gun
Hey /k/ I got a new gun the other day. I picked up a Taurus Tracker in .44 with the gloss black finish.
I got it as an open carry cougar/moose/bear gun for when I'm out hiking.
It needs some new grips though as the factory ones suck. I know I want some wood grips, but I don't know exactly which type to get. Should I go with square butt or round butt? Checkered or smooth? Finger grooves or without? Gloss or matte finish?
Thanks for the input guys!
>>30445388
This is the first contender and currently my favorite.
It is a round butt grip for a more modern profile similar to the factory grip. It has both finger grooves and checkering for a real positive hold, as well as a gloss finish. I wonder how the gloss finish will look on the gloss revolver?
>>30445420
This is the same grip, except with a matte finish. I know that over time matte finishes eventually polish to gloss, but that takes a while generally. Would the pistol look better with a little contrast in the finish? Gloss frame, barrel, and cylinder, but matte grip?
>>30445444
This grip is also a round butt, however it has no checkering and no finger grooves. It does have a gloss finish though. Thoughts?
Any advice to begin prepping for when shit hits the fan?
Must have weapons, what kind of gasmasks to get, and general prepping?
>>30445245
spend most of your money on getting fit and getting trained. then things like non perishable food, water purification - things to take to subsist for long periods in the wilderness
all your gear put together on a ruck should weight more than 1/3rd your body weight.
>>30445245
Weapons:
-Knife
-.22lr
-Glock 17
-AK 47
In that order
>>30445245
focus on skills first then gear later.
skills will supplant your need and want for useless gear.
when you discover what gear you will need, buy only top quality.
/k/ and /out/ is NOT the place to learn about top quality, as everyone tries to justify purchases and those with more money will buy things just to rub it in the faces of those who dont.
use your gear extensively in non life threatening situations BEFORE you depend on it to save your life.

Is the C-2 the worst modern transport plane ever conceived?
Seriously, 30 tons is basically what the smaller and lighter C-130 can carry.
Why is Japan's "High Tech" image so misleading?
>>30444854
but it's kawaii, op.
>>30444854
Modern Japanese aerospace has never been about results. Its been about keeping the industry alive and procuring domestically.
2 engines
35 ton payload
ability to operate off short runways
whats the problem
The price seems high but thats jap products for ya
Take a CROWS turret and give it a tripod and a semi auto .50bmg sniper rifle. Then combine it with TrackingPoint software.
Allow the software to have complete control. The user just designates targets through a touch screen.
Now the system would be heavy and require a team to deploy and use. But you take some sniper jobs and hand them over to common grunts. so you don't need to find and train up operators. Freeing the operators up to do the real work.
>>30444658
>through a touch screen
fuck off redditor
>>30444658
God imagine that for perimeter control.
I have seen the gattling prototypes, but a sniper variant with that level of user input?

This is how it begins
What's the realistic scenario to recapture this place, short of a nuclear option?
>>30444608
Why would anyone want that shithole?
>>30444608
Thermonuclear war. Lord knows Eastern European countries don't want to be in the middle of another world war, just because Germans want to fuck up europe.
Why does Russia even have that slice of land to begin with?
I'm looking for a HD gun for about $700/k/, no handguns since I'm 19.
What are some good suggestion /k/?
>>30444285
I read that as
>I'm looking for a HD gun for about $700k
And was about to suggest a nice artillery piece.
>>30444285
Grab a Mossberg 500 and a bunch of shells. Home defense and fun times.
>>30444345
Do you have any suggestions on ammo I should get so I don't over penetrate and surprise my neighbors?

As well as his dominant hand is asking to much, able to shoot off hand "ok" is about all you need .

I just like to buy guns to take a few pictures, smother them with ball sweat after a long day working and then resell them.

/k/ I have $1100
I want to buy as nice of an American made 1911 as possible for that price range
What do you recommend?

Colt Series 70
Dawson Precision has some lightly handled STI Lawman Commanders for $995 that were on their demo table for the NRA show. Normally $1300 guns.

Thank you
That looks like the one for me
Those here who have served in your nations military:
How was it?
Do you consider it a golden time in your life?
Those who have already served, has it helped you with opportunities in the civillian world?
I ask because I just today was accepted as an Intelligence Officer in the Royal Air Force. I begin my initial officer training in 5 weeks. I'm 22, so going into it a little older than some people there I assume, but on the whole I'm very much looking forward to it.
Than/k/s.

I came here for a thread exactly like this, I'm Canadian and 23 thinking about joining and interested in any tips or wisdom anons can share.
Does mandatory military service in a conscription based defense forces apply?
I served in FDF back in 2008.
>How was it?
Pretty good actually. Would go back nowadays with pleasure.
>Do you consider it a golden time in your life?
There's this old local saying that "time makes the memories golden". Kinda same as that "silver lining" thing in English countries. That is, I sometimes reeeally hated everything while in, but I can mostly recall the good times now. Plus, I've...

How does /k/ feel about bumpfire stocks?
>>30443918
theyre a fun way to waste ammo. i bring mine whenever im shooting with someone new, they always enjoy it. otherwise, i never use it
gimmicky shit meant to poke the legislative bear and illicit a response, then bitch and moan when they get said response.
>>30443918
Had one for awhile. Was a lot of fun and no one walked away without a smile. Hard to aim though. I moved and lost quick access to shooting land so I sold it.
If you've got a 100 to spend and some land to shoot it's a fun novelty.
Just found the most popular open carry group in my state. What does /k/ think of these classy men and women fighting the good fight? Any other open carry gems?

They're either obese or have terrible posture and they look like they work at Wal-Mart. Why do people not focus on firearms AND fitness? Why?

Get rid of this shit. As a Hoosier gun owner this disappoints me.

Haven't been invaded in a thousand years.
Haven't fought on their own island in threehundred years.
They did quite alright considering how little need they had for it really.
Because the Chavs would keep decorating their tanks with blue underlights and burberry.
Plus whenever they attacked an enemy position, they activate the subwoofers and deafened themselves from the sound reverberation inside the tanks.

Why? Why is there a double standard? Why does .45 get away with it?
Show me a full size 9mm with less than 10 rounds
I'd like to know what you are talking about.
