Canukistan here. Just got my PAL/R. Thinking of getting a Remington 870 for skeet/trap shooting. Please tell me why that's retarded.
>>30654810
Because new Remington kind of sucks, and I say this as a Remington fanboy. My first gun was an 870 and my favorite gun is a different 870 but I wouldn't touch Remington now unless it's one of their high end products, which apparently Cerberus doesn't cheap out on.
>>30654840
I've heard other people say that too. What's a good alternative for sub 500 USD? Winchester SXP?
>>30654883
I'd go for a Mossberg 500 or 590 since I have experience with those, but I've heard good things about the Benelli Supernova. My roommate has an H&R Pardner pump, which is a decent Norinco 870 clone that's only about $200. The same gun in a different configuration is also imported as the IAC Hawk.
Well, some idiot thought it was a good deal to trade me these two plate carriers worth $170-$180 for a Phoenix Arms HP22 and 100 rounds of .22lr. I got lucky. Just need to buy some side plates and...
My questions to you fine folk at /k/, is what plate carrier should I get. I want to get two kids if possible, I would like something without all the MOLLE crap, just something tight fitting around the torso so I can use to conceal the armor under a loose shirt.
Also, what MOLLE type carrier should I get?
....And also these plates are quite heavy (to wear for long periods...

Those plates are $65 each brand new. It was a pretty even swap.

The pistol was not in the best of shape, probably only really worth $70 max. The safety was fucked up, it jammed a lot, just a shitty cheap pistol.
What boots would/k/ recommend in the sub-$100 range? Have a 3 month old now, so can't spend too much.
Pic somewhat related... Rothco sells these for around 80, but don't want my feet to get hamburgered.
These will be used for backyard operating and occasional range and innawoods.
>>30654510
If you spend any less than about $130 for boots your feet are gonna get JUST'ed
Save up and get yourself some Danners. They last way longer than anything in my experience. Worth the price. I am army with 10 years in and an avid hunter. Not uncommon to cover 30km in a day
Not OP, but I've been meaning to get into the modern boot game too. Just recently taken up firearms as a serious hobby (beyond just collecting surplus) so I'm still new to all this geardo shit.
What are some actually good boots? Reasonably priced, at that. I'm on a budget but I'm not beyond saving up for a few weeks for a quality product. I've heard names like Merrel and Solomon but no idea where to really start looking.
Any news on the railgun's development ? How will it be used ? Railgun broadside when ?
>Also, future military technology discussion thread.
Never thought about a railgun broadside. It would def. require a fuckton of power.
We're gonna go full circle and end up with canoes, or some shit.
>>30654557
>full circle
Railgun-equipped modern Ironclads when?
>>30654615
Idk. I was thinking more of a ship of the line kinda thing.
Might happen when railguns have longer reach/advantageous to missiles, and ships can provide the high power needed.
They're like if a Suomi and MP18 had a sweet sexy love child
Does /k/ like Zavasta handguns? I'm thinking about picking up either a CZ999 or an EZ9

>>30654362
The Serbs make some pretty okay weapons.
You have no reason not to buy one, and they'll probably serve you well.
Where can you get an ez9? I need one to match my opap.
>>30654440
Gunbroker has a few. My local shop has a few in stock

I mean competent enough to fight a government army or law enforcement, either as a militia or as a lone wolf. Asking for a friend who thinks the government may soon become tyrannical.
Outside of the army, where can you get this type and level of training?
I am vaguely aware of some private training companies like the one Chris Kyle had, which train ordinary civilians in weapons and tactics but something makes me skeptical about this. Would they sincerely teach a civilian everything they know, or just enough to give them a fun weekend and get paid? And also, of...

Shall I assume abbos or biker gangs?
A random shit hit fan situation is presented to you, you have one and only one rifle you can have by your side to survive.
which do you choose? Why?
Can't go wrong with an ak obvs,
1. reliable
2. easy to use
3. easy to maintain.
4. stopping power, for any and all obstacles.
but the fal is a very close second.
For anybody underestimating its durability:

An AK's reliability depends on a lot of factors. There are some AK's that are shit, and some that are not.
FAL's are great guns too, but a lot of variables factor in to what I would carry in a SHTF situation, and after a lot of deliberation based on my particular environment, I wouldn't go with a .308.
And more than likely not an AK.
In my area, which is an urban environment, I'd need something that could be concealed easily enough, with versatility in terms of caliber...

The FAL, because it's the only one I actually have.
Also because I live in Texas, and there are plenty of wide open spaces.

Join local militia,
Question what values I'm fighting for, probably become nomadic as we travel toward a state that's functional.

>Internet, tvs, radios, law enforcement gets shut down and ppl start going crazy
Where do you imagine all of that happening?
If WW3's going to happen it's likely to happen largely in N. Africa and barely affect the US at all outside of costing us an assload more money.
defect to the Russians
I've seen this about 4 years ago in London, all black no windows or anything, no logos or signs. The presence of the fighter jets made suspicious. I've never seen anything like the thing attached to the top of the plane. When i saw this I immediately took the pic of the 3 planes.

AR-15: Build or Buy?
Always build, buying's for faggots
Build, I bought first one and felt dumb after learning how easy building is.
build a lower and buy a complete upper from BCM
Alright. Let's talk about Weapon Manipulation™. When you're running your Carbine™, you're going to want things such as Power Authority®, Retention® and your gear (D3® Chest Rig) 'Working Around You, Not the Other Way Around™'. This applies whether you're Military®, Law Enforcement or if you're just a Responsible Armed Citizen™.
