Im about to buy some night sight for my P99 but I find myself between Meprolight and Trijicon..
Does anyone have experience with both? Which looks more illuminated?
>>28007032
I only have the Meprolight TruGlo.
Fairly basic, solid sight. It's held up for probably 20 years at this point. Getting too dim to see reliably at night.

Go trijicon
we talk about issues we've run into while carrying and offer advice
>go to see a movie with friends at the theatre
>aurora shooting had happened just the past month
>bring the trusty glock 19 in an IWB holster, just in case
>cant get comfortable at all, shift in my seat the whole time trying to find a comfortable position that still gives me access to my gun
>friends ask whats wrong, tell them I have gas
>GF knew I was carrying, the other two didn't and I didn't know howd they'd handle it
>so frustrated I didn't even pay attention to the movie and spent the whole time thinking of how to fix this
I thought about going for a single stack next time, or trying a shoulder holster or maybe even an ankle holster if im sitting like that for long periods

the dark knight
I measured out the ranges given in the specs for the different versions of the S-400 and plotted them out on a map centered on Latakia- the general area in which they have been deployed. This means that given over the horizon flight data, ect, it's at least conceivable that that the S-400s based at Hmeimim could target and engage US and Turkish aircraft just taking off from both Incirlik AND RAF base on Cyprus, as well as pose a significant threat to air traffic in and out of Diyarbakir without a detour. This doesn't mean they can arbitrarily hit anything in these...

Funny, I threw together a quick map just for shit and giggles yesterday. Not very accurate, but still: 400km max range (orange), 250km max effective (red)
600km is only the max range of target aquisition.
The 48N6 version of the missile has a range of 250km at MACH 6.2 The 40N6 missile has a range of 400km. the 9M96E2 missile has a range of 120km.

mindhive. I like your radii better, but I threw in Airport codes and deployed unit designations.
After a recent rise in the number of attempted terror threats in your country, your government makes the decision to place plain clothes SF in the civilian public, in order to prevent or mitigate the potency on any potential terror threats that slip through the net of domestic intelligence and security services. What gear do you carry as one of these select operators?
Disguise as College/University student.
Since the last one closed....
What's the best 12 gauge reloading press for a beginner for reloading 12g brass (actual brass shells) with only black powder and wadding?
My constraints:
Limited space.
Limited budget / don't want to overspend for a first reloader.
Preferably with a primer-press included.
I'm going to be loading ultralight loads with no shot generally, unsure if that'd affect the decision.
Pic semi related.
>>28001577
>black powder and no shot
for what possible reason?
To answer your question, any press will work fine. But why?
>>28001577
Loading shot shells is a waste of time
>>28001590
>To answer your question, any press will work fine. But why?
Shits and giggles. Honestly? Because I'm bored, and I think I found a way to make that tennis ball launcher adapter work.
Back on topic,
>>28001593
OK, where would you suggest I purchase 12g black powder blanks from that won't break the bank?
Has anyone ever been arrested for 922r non-compliance? Not including being arrested for a major crime and having 922r tacked on just to throw more charges at a fuck up?
It exists solely for importer standards or as a tack-on charge. If you're a regular dude getting 922r thrown at him, it's the least of your present concerns.
>>28001197
ahh wrong.
>>28001197
While you are correct in practice, the law is the law. Just like very few people get the book thrown out of them for a stand alone first SBR charge.
>>28001283
He is right in practice. No one could reasonably determine without some sort of damning self confession that your rifle was in violation so they tend to wait till they have your gun confiscated during a drug raid then tack the charge up on Jamal's tapco'd AK.
Happy Thanksgiving! Talk about 54R and the guns that use them here! Post your rifles and discuss tips and tricks. Beginners welcome as always.
>Cheapest Mosins
Classic Firearms has 91/30 rifles for $190 base. J&G has M44s for $180 base. Go on Facebook groups for the best deals, I found a 91/30 with accessories for $150.
>Cheapest 54R
Cabela's is selling new production 54R for a decent price. Bud's Gun Shop is selling surplus ammo for $0.25 a round base. I'd recommend...

You are a PMC tasked as one of many to see a convoy of oil trucks through an area of arid and mountainous terrain, known to be crawling with well armed rebels, to a large government military facility.
The journey will last one week, with a 1 and a half day stop at a small military outpost en route (it's to be assumed you can worry about not being shot up in the night while there and it's essentially a rest period).
What gear do you take (food is taken care of ofc, as vehicles with food and other supplies are part of this convoy)?
convoy
>most food and gear taken care of
>a lot of sitting/riding. little marching
>rebels are well armed and present.
I'm your heavy.

How do you do, fellow kuffar
I will be getting some work done on my 1911 that will require a refinish. However I'm not sure whether or not to reblue it, or go with parkerizing since I don't shoot it that much. That way, I don't have to constantly oil it, etc (please correct me if im wrong).
Will parkerizing make it look like pic related, and will it interfere with how "smooth" the slide action is?
>>27998211
Parkerized is GOAT
Parkerizing will leave your gun feeling gritty until all those craters get smoothed out.
If you do get it parkerized, hose the disassembled gun down with breakfree, then let it sit for a week or two until the breakfree thickens up.
>>27998472
>smoothed out
So like just work the moving parts repeatedly? e.g. racking the slide, moving the safety, pressing the mag release?
Looking to get back into reading and /k/ approved books wanted
>'Gunpowder' by Jack Kelly

anyone got any tips on cheap arrows? feather fletched for traditional archery specifically. i want to learn archery but i dont want to cry over a lost 20 dollar arrow, and the ones i make from 3/8 inch dowels are crap.
im not overly asked about what material the shaft is just the fletching.

Make your own. Archery is awesome, fletching your own arrows makes it even better.
So /k/,
Ive been wanting a .45acp Carbine for awhile and i happened to stumble upon the TNW ASR.
I'm just curious if anyone here has any experience with these as I really kind of want one. especially since they're starting to produce a 10mm auto version now as well.
