What are some good steel full size pistols?
Buyer's Assistance Thread
Just an idea to help each other out with purchases on things we want, but don't necessarily know a lot about.
In this case an AK74 found on armslist- pic related. The guy wants $950. Is it worth it /k/? I want an AK model rifle really badly.
Depends, are you in MA?
Sar 2's are unicorn rifles in my experience, and usually come with some trigger slap and sometimes canted sights, ask the guy about either of those but remember 98 % of people on armslist are compulsive liars.
/k/omrades I need help.
We're doing practice qualifications at the police Academy today.
My groupings turn to shit at 15-25 yards. I keep shooting low and to the left, until eventually at 25 yards I'm lucky to get it in the target area.
How do I fix this asap? I have a 45 usp but it's obviously something I'm doing wrong and probably not the gun.
So, /k/, I once read an opinion here that America was actually relatively close to winning in 'Nam, but the media shitstorm and anti-war movement caused a premature retreat from SE Asia.
It went along the lines that the Tet Offensive was a desperate final move by the North Vietnamese forces after guerrilla tactics depleted Viet Cong manpower.
Is there any validity to this? How much longer would it have taken if we didn't bitch out? How would it have changed the world stage?
Why do that if we'd already sunk such a great cost (capital and human life) into the war? Especially if that would hurt U.S. image abroad.
I wouldn't, but i do think things are a lot more complicated than durrrrr murica lost vietnam, nixon was a retard
Any TNPers here?
I like nutnfancy. Yes, some of his ideas are a bit goofy, but he takes the longest time testing a firearm out of any other gun reviewer before making a video and I can appreciate that.
I go to basic training in two months
what are the chances of my girlfriend dear johning me?
I'm enlisted as a nuke if that matters
Do CIA spies actually fight as well as Jason Bourne?
>people who compare US and Russian military budgets and proclaim that US is 10 times more powerful
>people who compare UK or French budgets with Russian budgets and believe their armies are comparable to Russian armed forces
Let me explain you something.
Everything is simply far cheaper in Russia.
Army is cheaper to maintain (mostly conscripts).
Research and development is cheaper (done by government owned companies).
Production is cheaper (government owned companies).
Wages are lower, supplies...

Is there a reason why the Soviets never built an aircraft as versatile as the F-4?
I'm not trying to bring up the old chestnut of 9mm vs 45 for "stoppan powah" or carrying capacity.
I was more curious in regards to performance with penetration. Obviously, rifle rounds are most ideal, and in most self defense (and home defense) scenarios, you DON'T want overpenetration.
If you DID, though, what would be the best? I assume most common things to worry about punching through would be large trees, car doors (both sides), walls in general.
Is it simply "Doesn't matter as long as it's FMJ"?
How much does tank armor matter now the far as I know shells beat armor of any type(i might be wrong), and a tank that doesn't have composite armor only steel is even good at anything?(pic related, its a romanian MBT TR-85M1 that has nothing but steel armor and spaced armor)
Some tanks can take frontal hits from kinetic penetrators and HEAT rounds, but they aren't going to bounce off like they did in decades past. Not getting hit is the key, as is tracking your target and firing before they can.
I think there are some shells that have the ability to fire the jet of super heated metal in tandem in order to defeat ERA.
Or is it only missiles?
Anyways, I remember watching an interview of American tankers, who said that they switched to HEAT after tanks and fighting vehicles that were declared killed after being struck by APFSDS, actually survived the impact because the crew were not inside the vehicles, climbed back inside and began firing at the rears of US tanks as they drove past. They said...

Would Russia invading Finland provoke a real response from the US despite Finland not being a NATO country?
No. Finland's fellow European Union members might dispatch some very strongly-worded letters, though.
>they claim to be warfare enthusiasts
>they don't play Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations
What's your excuse?
Spent 4 yrs in 160th SOAR as a uh-60 crew chief. Transferred to 160th while I was a mechanic then moved up to flight platoon after a few months in my battalion.
Spent time in Iraq, Afghanistan, Central America, and the Philippines.
Got out a couple years ago. I will answer to the best I can but will not talk about details from overseas.
How fucked is the current status of the US armed forces, especially the marines (if you ever encountered them in large numbers or had to work for/with them) compared to other similar groups from other countries?
Can anyone identify these casings?
