Is the Steven's 320 shit?
Some guy is trying to talk me out of a Mossberg 500 in favour of this because apparently Mossbergs are inaccurate as shit?
He recommends this a good starter shotgun.
Is this true /k/?
>>28086888
Fuck no it isn't true.
>>28086888
>inaccurate
>Inaccurate
I'm sure they aren't bad shotguns but you'd be infinitely better off with the Mossberg.
What are the limits /k/ ?
"Shall not be infringed" does it then mean limits shouldn't exist ? What is your take ? If small arms should be allowed why not tanks and bombers then ?
What is /k/'s limit in terms of weapons possessions. lets be honest about it . What would you be comfortable with ANYONE having ?
Fuck you and your thread
Freedoms endowed by a right extend until they violate the rights of others. Under this assumption ordnances are the only thing that should be regulated due their unpredictable nature and generally infringing on others right's to peace and property.
>Do not post threads about gun control. They belong on /pol/.
My family is getting me a rifle for /k/hristmas, and we need to decide what kind to get.
Does /k/ have some recommendations for a good, low-to-mid price hunting rifle?

Should I build or buy an ar-10?
>>28086658
You should build a mad max style car.
>>28086662 build or buy?
>>28086658
>>28086664
Agreed. You could do worse than an S-10, but they're very customizable, and I think you'd be happy with what you would be able to build.
For the money though, have you considered a Toyota Hilux? Surely there are lots of less expensive frames and chassis you could start with....?
California resident here, planning on living here for the next 5 years or so. Thinking of becoming a first time gun owner. I know California has a reputation for being shitty to legal gun owners. What are my best options? Interested in whatever is my best choice for home defense on a budget of let's say, $500. Is a handgun the way to go? I've never even shot a gun before. Do you need to go through the same sort of checking processes to simply try it out at a range as buying a gun?
>>28086636
Just buy a Mossberg 500
>>28086636
With $500 you could get a decent handgun, although you'll want to increase that budget to closer to $600 to be able to afford something new at a gun shop.
You do not have to go through a background check to rent a gun, but some places will not rent to you if you are alone.
I can't keep track of all the ridiculous shit you have to do in california any more to make a purchase, but I would recommend and 870 or 500 if you're going to have just one gun. If you decide to go handgun I'd recommend a 1911, there's lots of great options for HD out there but since anything you would have in CA would be neutered you might as well stick with those recommendations.
You can't always be there for them. How prepared is your family for an active shooter threat when you're not there? Do they know how to stay alert? Can they defend themselves if need be? Do they know how to take evasive actions? You may lug around 10lbs of edc each day, but you still risk losing much more than your own life if you don't take the initiative to teach them these things. Discuss.

Also if you have dependents and no life insurance then you are irresponsible.
My wife could probably out shoot 90% of /k/
>>28086676
Glad to hear this.
How far away are we from small autonomous combat drones? Considering the pace of development of civilian rotor drones and of navigating AI seems like it should be too long: cram the brains/sensors of a self-driving car into a quadcopter and stick a gun on it.
Seems like the ISIS problem, for example, would be pretty quickly sorted with technology like that.
>>28086477
We're a long way away from functional AI even on the most powerful supercomputers. Autonomous drones are a fucking dream right now.
Fuck off with your shitty thread.
>>28086574
You don't need an "AI" that can pass the touring test. You just need one that can navigate around without running into stuff, and identify stuff and people (so it knows what to shoot and what not to shoot).
Seems self-driving cars are pretty much there already. It's a matter of miniaturization at this point.
>>28086672
The problem is that a self driving car doesn't have to decide who dies. The navigation systems and such are well developed, but I'm not sure how well they can function without God uplink since that can be jammed (though probably not by Isis at the moment)
Autonomous drones would have to rely on far far better target identification tech than we have now, and at least in the US, they probably would have to check with operators before doing anything.
why isn't 6.5 Grendel more popular
it is super easy to convert a 7.62x39 AK into a 6.5 Grendel AK
>>28086466
What benefits does it offer over 7.62x39?
>>28086466
It cracks bolts in ARs
Its a mid range cart, and AKs cant into accuracy.

Can /k/ make their own reamers, drill bits, tools for boring? I want to make firearm barrels
> INB4 /diy/
You can definitely make your own barrels but if you have to ask how (if) they are made then you won't be making any.
You need to buy offhand or commission a machinist.
>>28086189
i don't know if /k/ can but it's possible.

Did dazzle camo actually help anything? It seems too weird to be actually useful.
>>28086133
Talking out of my ass, but I'm thinking it was more to disguise the type and class of ship when seen at a distance rather than to help avoid detection.
>>28086133
It made it more difficult to determine a target's range, speed, and heading, not providing concealment.
>>28086133
As far as I know, yes. The idea is it breaks up your outline, makes you harder to see and target. They stopped using it once radar and spotter planes became a thing. Since it doesn't help with those.
