Show me celebs who have no fucking clue that they're doing.
Is it a terrible idea to put a long eye relief scope in place of my rear sight on my mosin? if you slide the rear sight off, there's a 3/8 dovetail mount underneath it that you could mount a scope to. It's completely reversible and doesn't permanently alter the mosin at all, and works with the normal straight bolt.
You can do ANYTHING to your weapon. ANYTHING. You can take a blowtorch to it, smash it with a hammer, paint it pretty pretty pink and shove it up your ass.
Whatever makes your weapon enjoyable and useful to you is totally 100 percent fine. If the scope works and keeps a true zero, go goddamn crazy.
Need good anti-goatman gun. What's /K/'s opinion?
I know very little about guns except safety and shooting and shit. I want a handgun that's cheap ~500, can shoot well and can fit in my hand comfortably (pretty big dude 6'3" 280)
I'm probably going to get ridiculed but I'm just looking for some anonymous help
Pic related American classic 1911 I've been looking at getting

$500 is pretty low for a quality full-sized handgun. My personal favorite recommendation would be a CZ-75B, incredible value for money.
How long after moving to the United States could someone from another country (i.e. Canada) be allowed to possess a firearm? I understand this is mostly state dependent.
So, I'm looking for a rifle as I will be getting spending money soon, I don't own a tactical rifle and am looking to get one, preferably with iron sights. I have a price limit of $2000, so /k/ WHATS the best tactical rifle?
If you want to drop a bunch of money on a super nice rifle then save up a little bit and buy a SCAR
If you want to save money and buy/build a nice BCM AR and have a nice chunk of change left over for ammo/optics/accessories, or buy an AK (I'd go with an SLR 104 for 5.45 or SLR 107 for 7.62) and have a nice chunk of change left over for ammo/optics/accessories.
/k/ how do I get into weapons development?
I know its a pipe dream, but I want to essentially make weapons similar to the Iron Man suit. Realistically, I'd like to learn mechanical engineering, coding, related to develop weapons systems independently or with a small team. I know no one can do the job alone but I'd like to be somewhat independent or come up with original ideas.
Do I begin in the library? Or perhaps at a University? I'm 19 years old, not many resources, coding apps in Java to make ends meet, but working on a project right now that...

I tried using this lansky knife sharpener, and the results were less than fantastic. The pull through ceramic v actually left my leek duller than it was previously.
I tried 40 passes on each side at about 30 degrees on the straight ceramic section, and that worked alright, but it's still nowhere near as sharp as it was out of the box. Any suggestions, /k/?
I tend to use a combination of synthetic (India) stones for course work, and natural Arkansas stones for finer work.
I know the synthetic stones are faster... but the natural stones have sentimental value, since they're how my grandpa taught me to sharpen knives.
Some of the other systems have worked well for folks... I can't seem to get my head around trusting anything other than a flattened rock, personally. Does take some practice, though.
what do you guys think about women not only being allowed into combat roles, but being allowed into special forces?
are we setting ourselves up for failure here?
It's not like there's going to be some sort of massive wave of females getting in. It's a fad. The feminists will celebrate the victory over the patriarchy and the women will go back to jobs that avoid physical work, like they always do. The few exceptions you would get can hopefully be smoked out once the media looks somewhere else.
Has a battleship ever capsized from firing a broadside?
Depends what you class as a battleship, nothing post-dreadnought has, but it happened a couple of times in the 1500/1600s.
The English Mary Rose and the Swedish Vasa are the two that immediately come to mind.
Both sank after firing a broadside while in a turn. Gunports were open on the listing side.
This kills the ship.
Looking into a dedicated trunk gun. What sort of qualities should my trunk gun have? What's an appropriate caliber? What does /k/ use as a trunk gun?
Carry a handgun, idiot. That way you don't have to waddle to your car to get it. Plus it's always accessible while you're in the car.
There's no realistic real world self-defense situation where a rifle stored in your trunk would be useful.
Remember that show on the Hitler channel where the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket hung out innawoods and talked about guns for half an hour?
He has a new gun show on the outdoor network called gunnytime.
Hey /k/, stupid noguns here.
I want to learn as much as possible, but the more I read the sticky the more I realize how incredibly ignorant I am.
Is there an easy starting place for someone who literally knows nothing about how guns work, what the different parts are called, how to buy one/get a license, etc?
1.go to store (youll need your ID)
2.find gun you like
3.buy gun and ammo
4.shoot gun, dissamble gun, clean gun, practice with gun
congratulations! youve taken your first steps into the world of guns!
Its back bitches edition
Any yote hunters out there?
What caliber/rig do you guys use?
Coyote/Varmint hunting general i guess.
