I need to vent.
So, I bought some mags off the Internet earlier this month and shipped them by Fedex. It has been 18 days since my shit was mailed and Fedex has lost my package THREE separate times. First was delivering it to the wrong address, then they picked up the wrong package from that address, then after picking up mine they delivered it to the wrong person again. Now I have no clue where it fucking is. I'm not even mad that it won't be here on christmas, I'm an adult. I'm mad because they had to fuck up on three separate occasions to get to...

Also before anyone asks, the mags I bought where the steel lips Butler Creek 10-round single stack 10/22 mags. I prefer them over the stock box mags Ruger makes, since they're easier to take in and out. I live in California so no BX-25s for me.

What level of shipping did you use?

Would you have joined la resistance /k/?

after adding up all the tools plus shipping+transfer for lower, youre better off buying a complete lower with a complete upper of your choice. unless im wrong somewhere?
Nope, you're right. I did it because I assemble lowers for my buddies all the time, so I'm saving them money so they can get in the game with me.
>>28298461
You're correct until you hit the 1000+ range.
>tools
I'm laughing at you.
Hey /k/, I recently found this nice Buck knife my dad gave me a few Christmases ago. Pic related. I foolishly lost the thing for a couple years only to find it again buried in my close. I know, I'm a dumbass.
Anyway, I really like the blade on the knife, but the handle leaves a little to be desired. It's just too damn glossy. Feels good in the hand, but it slides around if you don't keep a firm grasp on it. Is there any way I can add some friction to it? I really want to use this knife, especially since my dad gave it to me.
Sandpaper.
>>28298456
FUCK THAT IS NOT THE RIGHT PICTURE
>>28298477
As in wrap the handle in sandpaper, or scratch it up with sandpaper?
Just in case, I did some brief research and found out it's a Buck Pathfinder 105, and the handle is made of phenolic resin.
Hey /k./
I'm going to be getting my first handgun soon and am needing advice.
I need a handgun for home defense and am not interested in cc'ing.
My other option besides the Walther PPX is a Smith and Wesson M&P 9 and a Glock 17. The reason I'm putting the Walther first is because of the substantial price difference from the other two.
Also wondering which handguns you like shooting/are good for home defense.
>>28298413
I bought one because it was so cheap. Its a nice gun with a good trigger. I didn't shoot very well with it at first because I'm used to a short crisp trigger and the ppx has a long smooth light pull. Once I focused and got used to it, it shot great. No problems.

How is cleaning it and the MIM barrel part?
I've heard getting to the internals can be hard to get to and clean

The funny part is when you calculate the % of guns that killed people -->0.00012457777.....%
Meanwhile the violent crime rate in the US (367.9 per 100000) turns into 0.003679%
People are thirty times more dangerous than guns. Next time some libertard brings up the number of 'violent guns', remind them of the number of 'violent people' there are.

Ok /k/ what items would I have to assemble to be truly outfitted like a Diamond Dog operator

Well for simple starters you'd need either a set of olive bdu's, or advisor pattern tiger stripe and a black balclava. I think the m16a1 and a gi model of a 1911A1 were both standard weapons until Phantom Pain got all fucky with the designs. As for the rest of the gear, I'll let someone more knowledgeable take over.

Mace is a weapon. Can't really afford a hand gun so don't bother telling me to get one.

And now for something completely different...
Due to difficult and annoying gun laws in my country, I've decided to approach self-defense at a different angle.
Since all I have is a hunting knife and a metal bat but nothing for long range, I am going to buy myself a slingshot (which is legal).
People will probably laugh at this (basically I'm buying a "toy" instead of a real gun), but I really don't care.
I'm aware this does not compare to a gun at all and when I pull out a slingshot instead of a gun I probably look like...

They're super fun. Prob wont do much damage to anything bigger than a cat
Real slings are more deadly.

Who would win in a war of incompetent, unqualified soldiers being lead by brilliant and genius officers, or elite, tier 1 operators being lead by cowardly and uneducated officers? In other words, who are more important, grunts or leaders?
>>28297679
Leaders. There have been many battles won by Great Leaders with shitty armies against great armies with shitty leader.
>>28297679
Assuming that orders are being followed, leadership will matter most
>>28297697
True, but that is mostly the case because great leaders inspire those below them. Shitty leaders lower morale and lead to desertion and not fighting with tooth and nail.
>>28297679
An officer without grunts to back him up is useless. a horde of grunts without an officer is equally useless. Go look at the average Airshit skirmish, where you'll see a lot of people without command clash over some objective and imagine how efficient they could be if they...
