Saw a thread about this the other night, wanted to share for anyone who missed it.
Probably one of the best examples of how batshit crazy we were during the Cold War.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Azorian
Also, for the anons looking for the documentary about it that wasn't on Netflix, it's called 'Azorian: The Raising Of The K-129', and there may or may not be a couple extra seeders with decent upload speed on the torrent that may or may not be on a kick ass torrent site.
>>28299954
That was a great film.
Azorian is probably one of humanity's greatest single engineering feats and very few people even know about it.
The Russians were fucking pissed about it, though. Like, seriously pissed.
>>28299954
Bumping because I started the old thread. Fight the good fight, losing another piece of history to the scrap heap saddens me.
Here's the K-219 wreckage. Picture taken by the lifting rig at a depth of 16,000' (5,900m) of water.
One russian seed, and one american seed... wonder which government agency will contact me first...
What is the closest thing we, as a species, have had to master chief from Halo.
I'm talking in terms of courage, honor, valor, professionalism, bad assery, and super human feats.

We may never know their names or deeds.
wanted a real good conceal carry holster for my glock 19, was thinking of going with an alien cloak tuck. i know the differences between the 3.0 and just the regular one, but are they worth it?
also if you know of any better conceal carry holsters let me know
Get a sticky holster instead, gonna buy one soon after I get my ccw.
>>28299802
>real good conceal carry holster
>alien gear
pick one
alien gear is cheap and acceptable but good no not really. might be the best value in its price range but everything in its price range is mediocre
look at comptac or crossbreed

I like the Raven Concealment Vanguard 2. It's not meant for quick re-holstering but it is not bulky and you can still draw quickly when needed. http://raven-concealment-systems1.mybigcommerce.com/vanguard-2-holster-basic-kit/
Whats the deal with this guy? Innovative teacher or bat shit crazy marketing?
He can shoot pretty good but I honestly don't know anything about him and in general dislike these wannabe operator celebrity types
>>28299664
From the pic, that's pretty close to olympic posture, so if he's going for accuracy alone, it's conducive.
Trained for a couple of years for 10m air rifle competition until I could outshoot the equipment I was lent by the local shooting sports federation (Feinwerkbau lever/spring rifle, the ring on the front sight was way too wide for actual competition use, got to try an Anschutz with a tighter polycarbonate ring, was shooting 9.5/10 4 out of 5 shots). I was told that if I wanted better equipment...

Post your favorite videos showcasing weapons (systems) or content relevant to weapons (real or fictional). Unless a music video is relevant, save music for the music threads.
I'll start with this one. Sort of long, but some of the best craftsmanship I've seen on a video. Very impressive.

Starting with an old favorite. Lots of good movement, suppressing fire, communication, reloads, etc.
Not to mention the cool retro CAR 15s and the fact that they use blanks instead of shitty cgi.
By the same dude who directed heat one of the first realistic 80s shootout

I once was a libtard
When I first got my PTR, I tried to disassemble the trigger group, and popped the pins in the wrong order, causing all the springs to shoot out all over my room, and spent the next hour combing through my carpet to find them.
I also forgot to replace the cocking lever spring, which prevented the bolt from cycling properly, causing dozens of failures to feed on one of my first trips to the range with it.
Almost put a 7.62x39 into my ceiling but luckily got a light primer strike. Was a wake up for sure.
Simeone here knows this gun?

To get on the email list, reply to this post with your burner. I'll add you and send you an invite to our Slack. It's pretty much a mini-chan where we discuss bullshit and carpooling.
If Slack doesn't tickle your dick, don't accept the invite. I'll still be sending out the information via email.

Are you some no guns shitposting again?
Because the last meet had 25 people show up.
Why are glock sights the way they are? They're certainly different from other pistols. Do they provide any advantage over more traditional pistol sights?
Dey cost Glock 5 cents less to produce.
even my springfield glock knockoff has better sights

If she was born in say 1980 instead of 1860, what modern gun would Annie Oakley use? Back then she used Ithaca lever actions- would she use a more modern semi auto today? What feats could she perform with a sub MOA AR versus an old black powder rifle?

I save all my .22 duds and was going to pull the lead out of them to make some custom buckshot rounds.
How much danger is there of them going off by gripping the casing with a pair of pliers?
