So how come infantry don't take pack mules with them in modern times? I can think of plenty of times when they would be extremely useful. aparently there is enough desire for them that Boston Dynamics is creating a robot donkey.
I know a bunch of people are going to respond "well, they have this limitation or that limitation", yeah, no shit they do, but just because of that it doesn't mean it's not still better than not having them.
Because they have these things called "helicopters" and "trucks" which is how they get to their FOB's and PB's.
Not enough CID to investigate all the new rape allegations.

pack animals can get places where those things can't, and make less sound. I can immagine they'd be useful for soldiers on an offensive, especially in mountains and jungles.

You are an allied NCO, and have been given a blank check from command to equip your six man squad with any commercially or militarily available weapon, including those captured from the enemy and prototypes, What do you choose?
>>28300532
>liquidate blank check into cash
>disappear into the alps with my squad and a harem of french qt's
Only nonretard answer.
>>28300547
It's a figurative blank check. You will provide a list to command and there purchasing agents and/or quartermasters will procure the arms.

How difficult it is for a random citizen to get an Automatic Firearm in murica?
ATF difficult. Have to apply for your transfer, which can take months to complete. Also, costs are ridiculous, expect to pay around 10,000+ for anything not a piece of shit smg.
>>28300417
The general public usually means semi-automatic, which is incredibly easy.
However, "Although both "semi automatic" and "fully automatic" firearms are "automatic" in the technical sense that the firearm automatically cycles between rounds with each trigger pull, the terms "automatic weapon" and "automatic firearm" are conventionally reserved by firearm enthusiasts to describe fully automatic firearms."
So, if you mean a FULLY automatic? This...

I believe theres a heavy background check. A federal firearms license and then expensive fees.
Then you have to find a transferable auto for no less than 12,000

Anyone have that screencap about African paratroopers? I forgot to save it. Besides that, has anyone here seen any action in Africa?

Which is the best 80% Lower ad jig should I get to start off my build?
Be fore you ask why, I live in nyc and the powers that be wont allow us to have AW in the state let alone NYC. I always wanted to build my own but don't know where to start
So it has to end up being an ar pistol looking like this or I have to go with the "bullet button"
Figured since this would be a none ffl build and I live in the city, I go with an that build in the pic.
Most people on youtube love Palmetto, Anderson, Ares
But what about companies like...

Not too recently ago, I bought a nugget as a first firearm. I learned everything I could about it, and have deciphered that I have a pretty decent one, and the bore is in great condition.
Lo and behold, I have fallen in love with shooting. Got a membership at my local range, plink every weekend, as I can. I found a crate of 54r from a mom and pop shop out of state, and got a good deal, so I am sitting on about 1200 rounds or so. Nifty.
But I have the itch now, I see all this ammo, and think how long it's actually going to take to shoot it. Not that I have...

Considering it's rooskie military surplus, you're not going to find much other than another/a different kind of nugget. The other options aren't really in the second-gun price range, at least in the states. You could look into an SVT-40 or maybe a PSL, but your best bet would be an M44, which is just a shortened Nugget. If you're lucky, you could find a Levernugget, but that would again be pretty expensive for a second purchase.

Well, I am in a good spot in my life with work and the house and what not. Price really isnt an issue. If it's 3 grand, I'll save for a month or three, you know? If you guys recommend it, I would probably strongly consider it.
I've heard of Vepr? Thats a thing, right?

Was that the one so bad, that one commander threw them into a river?
If so, then yeah. They're pretty bad.
Yes, my local class 3 dealer has one in his collection. We cannot make it run. He regrets his purchase.

Yes, I've shot one. Couldn't get through a mag without a stoppage
I just acquired pic related, and I want to change some things to get the best out of my rifle. So, how can you make the ptr 91 a better gun? How hard are the mods, and how expensive?
Match trigger from hk and an optic of your choosing.
>>28299968
IThere's a few out there.
- You could try to get a trigger job done or a match trigger drop-in.
- Some people replace the plastic trigger housing with surplus steel ones.
- If you got an old button-only mag release model you could look into installing a paddle mag release that some people do with surplus parts or the tac-latch.
- The extended charging handle is a good one which makes pulling the handle a lot easier.
- Recoil buffer if you think the rifle kicks a little...

>How can I make the PTR a better gun?
By selling it and buying an FAL
What is the 1 gun that every gun enthusiast should have before they claim to be an enthusiast.
My vote is for the ruger 10/22
>poor fag friendly
>tacti-cool friendly
>easy to find parts, reliable
>>28299957
I wouldn't call a 10-22 an enthusiast's gun.
I'd say something along the lines of a cz455, or other competition grade rifle. Maybe like an Anschutz too.
>a 1911
>a wonder 9
>a magnum DA revolver
>a .22
>a varmit rifle (ar-15 or sks or whatever)
>a high powered rifle
>a shotgun
that would be a rudimentary collection
>>28300008
Kinda just covering every base. Depends where you live too.
In Canada something like an SKS or 10/22 is common place in everybodies collection. For an enthusiast up here, a quality military semi-auto would be standard. Something like an AR15, Vz58 or M14.
