Why is the US spending so much money on non-STOVL versions of the F-35? This is the only version we need.
the stovl engine costs twice as much as the other ones
lower range/payload
>>28392634
The F-35B has a reduced range and higher unit cost than the F-35C. It's far from a useless gimmick, but STOVL aircraft suffer from a bunch of limitations that prevent them from really being a feasible replacement for the entire fleet.
>>28392682
The money saved by not needing runways would cover the cost!
Whaddup /k/
I'm looking to buy a cheap single shot break action 12ga, would like to keep it under 300. Is that price even possible? If it is, where would I buy such a thing? Pic unrelated
>>28392456
umm...
you can get decent quality single shots for like 80 bucks.
hell yeah it is
>>28392456
How about an open-bolt single-shot 12 gauge?

I gotta say, the early M16 models look really fucking gay
But by the M16A4 it looked pretty fucking cool

There's an AR general.
Exactly what are you trying to get out of this thread?
What's the consensus on firing pin blocks for a ccw?

They're great, though "Compact" is a bit of a misnomer.

Get a full size USP or nothing.
>>28390649
Would you say it's more of a Sub-compact then? I've never held or seen one in person.
>>28390821
Why only in full size? Is there a big difference or is it more along the lines of "Real 1911s only come in .45"?
can we get a fucking arms and armor thread going?

I'm sceptical. Iran maybe? Definitely a lot younger than ancient.
/k/ I am seriously considering getting one these fine rifles. The ammo looks to be a tad expensive but that does not bother me too much. What would be a fair price for one these? I see anywhere from $350-800. It looks like a lot of them are priced 500-600 but that is online. Obviously I'm going to be looking for something in better condition. Anything I should watch out for other than the usual tom fuckery with the people selling these guns?
>>28390332
Look for cracks on the stock, that's about it.
Don't pay over 450 for a really nice one.
These are real fine rifles, you'll enjoy them.

Mauser Model 98, perhaps?
This one is my baby
I'm not very well versed in US law, and i was reading through some gun grabber's shit, and they proposed a ban on ammo instead of a ban on guns.
Now, the 2nd amendment specifically protects the right to bear arms, but what protects the right to ammo?
Could they possibly pass such restrictions?
If so, what can we do to stop it?
>>28390225
The right to bear arms means all parts of said arms. Ammo included.
>>28390225
DC vs Heller has already largely addressed this. Long story short, the 2nd amendment guarantees your right to a firearm and at least one type of ammunition required to operate it for self defense.
>>28390225
the bear part, hard to bring arms to bear without ammo.
Why don't we have bipedal vehicles in real life yet?
Because treads and rotary wing aviation do the same job better.
>blow off legs
>it becomes immobile
there isnt really a point to it unless you can armor it up really well and have some active countermeasures
Id see armored suits like powered armor rather than large mecha or bipedal tank things being used

is there a better version of the Scout by another company?

Scout rifles were obsolete by the time detachable magazines got widely available.
Not even semi auto, just detachable mags.

SKS
So I'm seeing a lot of 3D printed part ideas being thrown around now that it's more widely available and I was just wondering what the consensus was on which parts are suitable to be safely substituted for a 3D printed one instead of a commercially made one.
I'm thinking foregrips, mag grips, and rail mounts would be suitable. What about a lower like pic related?
>>28389708
If you made that into a sand casting mold that would be pretty dope
Add a couple swastikas and runes, and I would buy one even as an 80%

everything but the bcg, barrel, and springs
