OH BABY!

Yeah man, because I really want MORE of Scaji's pretentious gibberish.
>>
All these titles I enjoyed being dirtied by filthy translations. What a shame.

Oh, shut up, Moogy.
>>
>>14316741
Why not just leave the English-speaking internet entirely and not have to deal with this shit anymore?
>>
>>14316823
I am confident in my jap reading skills but not my production, and I like you guys. It's just that I hate how atrocious the translation scene is, full of machine translation with some cleaning and everyone still reading them.
>>
>>14316851
Does it really matter as long as they're still enjoying them? Sure, you can get mad if you see someone complain about bad writing, as I do when I see that happen with Fate/stay night, but generally people don't complain. Aside from about Fate/stay night, for some reason. Because in the end, most people even enjoy stuff like Sakura Beach.
>>
Look at that, G-Senjou's not even in the top sellers. Can you say FLOP OF THE CENTURY?
>>
>>14317003
Wait, what the fuck?

Dovac probably. Lol, bitch got owned.
>>
>>14316996
Yes, you insecure little shit.
>>
>>14317194
You sure made an excellent counterpoint, cunt.
>>
>>14317051
Steam users are cheapskates, so I expected the non-voiced $20 version to sell better. dovac must've figured that without kickstarter and with how Kaijitsu sold that giving a cheaper option was the only way to increase sales.
>>
>>14317344
I was thinking the same thing. It's a clever scheme to appeal to the Steam crowd that only wants to buy stuff if it's cheap, since a lot of people have been okay with playing those Sakura games without voice acting. This wouldn't be the worst idea for MangaGamer to try with some of their more expensive games, but they're too cool to do something so scummy, I guess.

Honestly, if the full VN were that price, it would be a pretty reasonable price for the game. It's not worth the $40 pricetag.
>>
Hey, here's some free emotes if you're interested. I know you fellas love free stuff.

>>
>>14317417
Steam users are complaining about what the voice patch costs, so the decision has pissed off some people.

Many Steam users are used to voiceless oelvns and like lets players narrating the entire game, so most likely don't mind another voiceless game, since it's half the price of the voiced version.
>>
>>14317484
>lets players narrating the entire game

Seems difficult. How do they do the girl voices?
>>
did mub run yurofront get translated? I've seen people posting screencaps with english text. it was probably translated by someone who can't actually read moon so I don't know why I bothered getting excited.

If it was released by Alternative Project or Alternative Translations or whatever the fuck they call themselves, then yes. One of their guys was caught copy pasting out of Google Translate, somehow none of them noticed, and upon this being pointed out, they all rushed to defend him.

how did sekai manage to pick up people even worse than dovac to handle public-facing matters?
>>
>>14317885
Well, considering the people in the company are incompetent, it figures that they wouldn't know what a competent employee looks like and would hire even more incompetent ones.

I also don't understand how someone who would use an avatar of a "gangsta" Mario would even have an interest in this line of work.

What's up with JAST?
Everything is fully translated or not even begun translating.

Are they going to release 5 things at once in a package deal or what.

What are their translators working on right now then since apparently Sweet Home is the only thing below 100% and above 0%

Hilariously. Some try to do different girl voices, while some just speak in their regular voice.

Also, some lets players are actually girls.

>>
I still can't believe with the launch discount that the voiceless version of G-Senjou is only $14. It might be bad for longer vns if people start expecting this price for full-length vns, especially at launch, though.
>>
>>14318306
I love how its always "devs are the bad ones". Every single time. Despite such things never happening with any other localization company.
>>
>>14318337
Its a shame that people who want to localize visual novels suck at running businesses to the point where their audience hates them.

>>14318346
When I saw the price, I was also quite surprised. The release is usually a time of high sales, yet they decide to release it very very cheap, butchering their own profits. People who wanted to buy it on release wouldve payed the full 20/40. What they shouldve done was put it on sale for a while after clannad came out, a time where people wouldve have finished G Senjou for full price and have spread good news and making it more well known.

However, regarding price expectations some normal RPGs sell for like 40 normal price and others sell for 60 normal price. When longer VNs come out for higher, people will expect it to be longer / better as well.
>>
>>14318377
When it comes to streaming, many Japanese devs are against it. MOONSTONE (likely due to Evangile's success) and some of MG's other partners are okay with it, but that doesn't mean that all of their games are allowed to be completely streamed.

Other games published by Sekai Project are allowed to be streamed, but games like Grisaia and G-Senjou aren't, because the devs don't want them to be.
>>
>>14318377
And it's always after a round or two of SP fucking shit up and pissing everyone off. Every single time, it's
>Do something shitty
>People get pissed off
>SP tells them to fuck off, starts banning, etc
>Even more people get pissed off from their reaction
>Oh, we mean it was the devs who told us we have to do it. We're totally on your side and have no choice.
>>
>>14318305
I don't even know why people want to stream themselves fucking reading.
Even moreso, I don't know who would even want to watch someone fucking reading

How do you fap to H while streaming?

Sekai Project is probably obliged to do this, because of Akabei2Soft's tyranny.
Many VNs, when you open them, tell you not to stream them or upload gameplay videos on the screen that you never read.

Censor the games, censor any criticism. It's consistent, I'll give them that.

It would be nice if the Aokana group released a partial patch of what they have so far so that when the anime airs in winter next year, we can all not be secondaries and shitpost on /a/ about how superior primaries are.

I'm going to be too interested to not watch it, but I also don't want to watch an adaptation that will probably be worse than the source and ruin my impression of it.
Same with Kouya.
Being an EOP sucks.
>>
>>14318478
>It's consistent, I'll give them that.
Oh, they're very consistent. Just like how they consistently need kickstarters to translate shit that's already been translated for years. Or like how they're consistently fucking up these translations, somehow. Or consistently being greedy and baiting backers with exclusive merch instead of doing small, limited releases for all the fans who want some.

Yes, they're very consistent.
>>
>>14318506
The Kouya anime is airing before the game releases anyway.
>>
>>14318506
I'm not going to watch it because the patch is already coming along pretty well and VN adaptations butcher the material so often that it perplexes me that they keep trying to do them when other types of adaptations generally turn out much better. I don't have to worry about my impression being ruined because I know how bad of a representation these anime are so I don't let them change my perceptions.

on Aug 9 he edited the page of references on the subahibi wiki
http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=Subarashiki_Hibi:References&diff=119573&oldid=119467
I just found this right now. I was curious about the subahibi page of tlwiki and saw the references page and felt like seeing what it had in store. At the bottom was edited aug 9. Checked the revision history and the last one to edit it was Herkz.
The only explanation for this is that he's reading/editing it right now and came across an unlisted reference and added it.
That's around 25 days the second pass of editing was supposed to start.
Looking at his contributions he also edited the walkthrough page.
The project probably is in herkz's hands right now. He just cant hold all the subahibis.

Believe
>>
>>14319024
When you think about it, herkz is quite possibly one of the worst people ever to be editing Subahibi. If you look at his opinions of stuff on places like Twitter/Reddit and his ask.fm, very obvious social commentary just flies completely over his head. He is the poster boy for taking things at face value and one of the least insightful people I have seen on the internet. And this is the fucker editing Subahibi. I feel sorry for Scaji.

That's why he's taking so long
He's reading/watching everything that is reference in subahibi when its referenced, so he is able to edit it with absolute of the reference. In addition, he is studying humanities in other non-referenced works to improve his understanding of society and past societies. He's doing it for us. For free. When subahibi comes out, we'll be sorry to have ever doubted him.

Patch is out more than year now, and its still has only slightly more than 500 vote on vndb. Chuunishit is doomed in west.

The number of DLs for the Ayakashibito patch was pretty tiny, iirc.

Ayakashibito is the biggest action visual novel after FSN as far as eroge are concerned in Japan (bigger than Dies Irae) so it's more likely a problem with the genre in general, not propeller why it's not particularly popular in the west.

In any case, you'd have to be really out of touch not to know of propeller and Higashide Yuuichirou if you weren't an EOP.

My guess for why the brand might not be as well known around here is that Moogy hasn't played their action titles, and it seems it's solely the games he praises that get hyped in this place (even though no one seems to want to admit it).
>>
>>14319605
>even though no one seems to want to admit it

>>
>>14319559
Hey, those aren't going to get translated! You're confusing popularity in Japan to what's known and popular in the West. Try to find people hyping for those titles.
>>
>>14319605
Literally nothing gets hyped in this place besides Muramasa, Baldr Sky and Dies Irae. It's not about Moogy, it's about the community picking three games and refusing to give a fuck about anything else.
>>
>>14319605
Most vndb users never heard about mugi. I guess people just don't connect it to being "same genre as FSN", FSN being top #1 game shows that people love chuunishit.
>>
>>14319615
Lots of people hype Evolimit, and most people thought we were going to get Bullet Butlers once the Propeller partnership was leaked.

Ironically, he's working for Type-Moon now (Fate/Go).

I've noticed that the "big scene dudes" like Herkz and Moogy all do horrible things like supporting Sekai Project and using Reddit. None of them ever have good things to say about MangaGamer. It bugs me, it's like they're trying to force this shitty company to the forefront just because it's "their internet friends" and just completely ignoring the good company that has standards because they're not part of the big cult. Notice how for all their translation errors, Moogy, who is KNOWN for shitting all over Ixrec's translations, has NEVER ONCE criticized Sekai Project translations. It's like, when you have to push a company this hard to get people to accept them, maybe you should look at it and realize there's something wrong with it.
>>
>>14320528
They think the companies are their friends and want to give them easy work. They also think it will let them support the creators of the games when really it's just the companies making money. People are all too eager to make visual novels accepted in the west and are very dumb about how they go about it.
>>

Wrong, Moogy doesn't criticize SP PUBLICLY but he was laughing his ass off on IRC when NekoPara was released and mocked SP translators for it for ages.

Yes, it does. But you should have known better - Sekai Project has been known to lie about the work they're doing on a translation before. Like how they say they're going to do a bunch of editing and then they just release the fan translation as-is. Nekopara was one Japanese nerd who also did the Chinese translation, that's it. He probably didn't even get paid well for it.

>>
I am so glad I read G-Senjou years ago when the patch came out before Sekai Project started ruining things on the scene and everyone got angry about everything.
>>
>>14321261
I'm pretty sure companies would end up worse off if people bought routes one by one. Can you honestly say you'd buy e.g. all five heroines in an average game? I wonder if the average player even completes one route, let alone be persuaded to make 2-4 more purchases .

Even if the lower prices attract more people to give it a go, I'm doubtful the lower average spend would offset them (especially in a small market like VNs). Much easier to sell the common + a chosen route as the product and the other routes as the replayability.
