Apparently I can't upload a webm because it contains a file?
>>14572057
hmm.. Does /jp/ still not support webms with sound?
Obligatory thread ambassador/ mascot.
>>14572658
The webm itself didn't have sound in it. Or at least, it shouldn't have.
>>14572057
That's just the overly aggressive "embedded file"-killer. It reacts to a certain chain of bytes or whatever. Just change the bitrate to a very slightly different number and the resulting bitstream will be enough to make it think otherwise.
>>14572658
We need ambassador-chan to be on every new thread as pic related
>>14571955
Whats with the aspect ratio in this pic?
It looks more 16:9 than the default 4:3.
Not that I am complaining.
Also snow when?
Later this week?
>>14577156
I'm using WMP with the non-silverlight version, but I cropped the image
(this is how it is on original ratio)
The forecast shows that it will snow the next few days, let's hope for it.
Look what I found whilst searching about the station online:
http://samachan.org/a/res/4754.html
And I thought we were the only board to do this (unless some of you also two-time).
>that spider on the camera
Shit, that actually happened with me other time on the stream, all was left afterwards was the cobweb which disappeared days after.
On a interesting note this weekend I spotted tourists on the station as I recognized them speaking in english (I assumed it was a family as I heard a kid's voice). They were as well talking with some japanese people probably helping them for directions, felt nice
>>14580646
>You will never visit Aizu Wakamatsu Station ;_;
>>14580646
They were probably berating them for being foreign scum and directing them to the local yakuza den.
>>14580290
Reading that thread is like traveling back in time. In this threads past.

>>14581396
You know there are past threads that are archived that you can travel back in time on as well.
>>14581440
>that or the morning/evening rush
Is there really much of a rush at this station?
>>14581457

>>14581457
>Is there really much of a rush at this station?

>>14581457
That's what I was implying. The archived threads read much the same. It's just funny seeing the conversation on samachan that are leading to them discovering the other platforms .

Yes, I suppose that's likely, I guess I just wanted it to be the same person for some reason.
Another sunny day. Sadly all the snow is gone.
>>14590336
It's actually been falling snow flakes, but not as much intensity I would say. But right now the sun is gone and it got really cloud as predicting it may snow lightly

Snowing pretty hard!
Wow, there's a lot of snow right now on the station! It's a pity I have to sleep soon since I wanted to keep watching it for a while, but I hope it at least keeps snowing like this for another week or so, or at least a day.
>>14632139
Heavy snow in east Japan, I think it will keep longer this time.
Ok /jp/, it's snowing so I'm off to the station to take pictures. I'll arrive about 3PM JST.
>>14632638

>>14632920

>>14632946

The snow is still there!
>>14633968
snow will accumulate this time, at least for 9 days, maybe more
>>14634552
How much snow accumulation and when will it peak?
My understanding is that there will be only be several cm's and peaking on 23 and 29?
>>14634734
for the 29 is unreliable
every small colored line represents a 5% probability (100% / 20 = 5%); the fat red line is their average, the fat black is the official prediction, made strictly with the data available
"perturbations" means "let's introduce a little variation in the data we have now and see what would happen according to the model" --> so, if the colored lines are all together, it means 100% probability, if only 4 lines take a certain direction it means 20% probability (4x5%) for that event to happen (or 80% prob. it will NOT happen)
hope its clear
>>14635452
forgot: vertical time lines are at 00:00 UTC
let's explain this other chart too (this uses JST): upper and lower parts I think they are simple; the middle chart represents how THICK and HIGH in the sky are the clouds in a certain moment, and also how much sunlight they block; it's NOT a representation of their shape or extension; for this, you have to be autistic enough to mix the vertical data with maps like those made by Sat24
“Oh no! It’s melting! My precious powdery snow! Gone forever!”
>>14637568
Wow >>14634552 lied to us ;_:

>>14835198
Wow. It's surprising to see snow so late into winter.
>>14805873
I've got to add that place to the places I must visit if I someday go to Japan.

That time already...
Times flies.
I have some Sakura-viewing webcams saved if anyone is interested when the time comes.
>>14836564
Yes, please anon! I would love to see them!
>>14827461
So beautiful.
>>14827267
>a fashion model
>>14836367
>before 3/25
God fucking damn it
>>14837349
it's okay, that's canadian dates, so it's in the 3rd day of the 25th month
>>14838129
Something about those little dry patches where the trains were overnight always get to me in a happy way
>>14836157
there will be a point in my life when I will have enough money to wander Japan and the world aimlessly. That station is on my go to list.
Let's hope that it won't become inhabited by the time we can afford to get there

>>14836157

Better hurry.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koboro_Station#History
>In August 2015, it was announced that JR Hokkaido planned to close the station in autumn 2015, possibly as early as the end of October, but in September 2015, it was revealed that JR Hokkaido was in discussion with the local government to keep the station open
>>14838751
well, hopefully the concrete platform, the sea, and that cave are still there when I go
>>14838810
But if they close the station how will you get there?
>>14839298
I will find a way! Perhaps a long hike. I wonder what will happen to the cave and the small station buildings once it closes. It would be even more interesting to visit if its abandoned and overgrown in my opinion.
>>14838464
>I will have enough money
How much is that?
>>14839363
>>14839298
>>14838810
Someone google map it.
Lets plan now!
>>14839890
No idea. I suppose it's not about the money but about reaching a point in life where I can afford to drop everything and wander aimlessly for a while
>>14839894
4chan classifies complex links as spam so I can't link it directly but check out street view at the station.
quite beautiful...
>>14839912
make sure to check out the separate points that can take you into the dirt path and beyond
>>14839897
Ah. Well fuck.
Thats sounds near impossible.
I mean sure there are plently of people who do that when their lives are not exactly in order but still...
>>14840023
>Thats sounds near impossible.
Don't lose hope. It's possible! We're just not there yet. There will be a time when I (and you!) can wander aimlessly through the world, pauses from the "life" that is being a soulless corporate slave glued to screens

Oh god my anxiety just sky rocketed.

I wish I were in japan

Someone please do this.also, checked

I could simply hike my way through the forest towards the abandoned station. From what I saw on the translated post there is a town nearby, so I imagine that it's doable.
>>14847992
The station is squeezed between a couple mountains. The hike wouldn't be easy, or necessarily legal. You'd be far better off renting a boat and heading to the pier.
I'm heading up to Sendai from Tokyo tomorrow and have half a day to kill, what are the best stations?
>>14848530
I can hike and walk better than I can steer a boat. I can easily see myself in all kinds of accidents if I tried to head into that pier.
>>14849800
Why not taking one of the lines that have Aizu-Wakamatsu as terminal and just head out from there? Maybe you could also search into some japanese sites with the search word of secluded station in japanese.
>>14850226
That one's really convenient, almost definitely going to stop there. I might even check out koboro if there's enough of a reason to go to Hokkaido.
Mostly curious which stations at what times anons are watching
>>14848530
>or necessarily legal
What do you mean?
Trespassing? Its not private areas?
>>14840046
>soulless corporate slave
>reaching a point in life where I can afford to drop everything and wander aimlessly for a while
I mean these two points REALLY seem to be mutually exclusive.
>>14854181
I seem to recall a similar thread where a /jp/er tried hiking to an abandoned chemist/apothecary through public land. He had a minor run in with a police officer when he got back to his car, Apparently certain areas of public land are for conservation? I don't really remember; this was years ago, before I was into urbex.
Wow, see this after I back home, what happened?
>>14855416
>what happened?
I think it might have snowed.
Wowowowo.
This just happned in 20 minute.
Hard time for those people who have to go to work/school.
>>14855569
It's just snow, dude. Do you live in Australia or something?
>>14855646
Not that anon. I live in canada; in my region, we wouldn't bat an eye at a foot of snow and -40C
snow or not, it's shitty having to go to work in the snow. From my understanding a lot of pre-80's japanese architecture is built to ventilate during the summer, which make the buildings absolutely freezing in the winter.
>>14855686
Even worse, they usually don't use any room heating, because it is expensive.

Thanks anon for the update snowy webms!
I had totally given up on snow this season. Kicking myself really hard.
Is there still snow / more snow to come (doesn't look like it from the weather sources I quickly looked up)?
Its 2am there now so all the lights are off. I can't tell ;_;
This is a pleasant surprise.
>>14860437
That's just such a pleasant scene to look at. I'd love to have a house or an apartment near a nice train station. Especially overlooking one that doesn't have overnight trains - Which this one doesn't seem to have many of.
What settings are you using with ffpmeg?
School time.
