I actually don't like any of the songs (with vocals) in Sophie. Maybe the final boss theme with chanting, but beyond that I think GUST should let Tsuchiya handle the serious vocal songs.

>23% What is this game?
Come on, KT. A quarter of your own Twitter subscribers doesn't even know about your game. Are you looking for excuses to not make it happen?
No, I won't be buying it because I have no way to run it on my "3.18 forever" Vita, at least for now. No, I won't update nor get another Vita. If anything, I'll play YoruKuni on a PS3 instead, especially if someone backports English translation.

On a side note, Europeans can get pic related and ArNo+ from PS Store with a good discount until Dec 25th.
>>
>>14473470
I'm a GUST fan and I've barely heard anything about Yoru.

I mean, look at our threads. It was sort of hype building up to release, then nothing. From what I can tell there was absolutely nothing noteworthy about it, except maybe GUST's first ARPG with decent gameplay.
>>
>>14473470
>I'll play YoruKuni on a PS3 instead
From what I've heard, YnNK is even less optimised on PS3 and is actually the worst version i.e. even the Vita version runs better.
Of course maybe I was being trolled so you'll still need confirmation.

Is 3240 yen the best price I'll get for it non-secondhand?
>>
>>14476482
I think it's a good price. I mean, it's 40% off.

Also, from Christmas until the first week of January, Ayesha and Ar nosurge plus will also be 40% off.
>>
So, does anyone know exactly how much content Ciel nosurge has?

There's all the voicemails. Plus certain conversation changes when you sync with a completed Ar nosurge save. For example in addition to a different ending, I think there was a spot in the Genometrics or somewhere where the game reflects the fact that you've completed or at least played Ar nosurge.

Does anyone know for example what happens if you don't marry Ion, for the rest of Ciel nosurge and Ar nosurge after a sync?
>>

A follow-up to >>14466042

Vita version of YoruKuni for the West will more likely happen than not apparently. Whether it will receive a physical release or not is another question though.
Come to think of it, what was the last GUST game to have a physical release on Vita in the West, if any at all?
>>
>>14479773
Ar Nosurge, I think. But you had to order from NISA.
>>
>>14479828
>But you had to order from NISA.
...since it never appeared in their EU store, which explains why I forgot about it. Thanks, and thanks for reminding me why I "love" NISA even more than KT.
It will be really ironical to see NA-exclusive YoruKuni LE after having KT Europe earn it.
>>
>>14478666
One.

Actually two, related to a missable trophy. If you craft the philosophers stone before beating the final boss, Prachta challenges you to surpass her in the ending, which gives you a missable trophy.
>>
Now that NISA is putting Disgaea on Steam, what are the chances we'll get Ar Tonelico on the PC as well?
>>
>>14480924
Zero. Ar Tonelico is nowhere as popular as Disgaea. Ar Tonelico makes indie games look like blockbusters. KT probably doesn't even know AT exists.

To put it simply, AT lacks normalfag meme value. It doesn't spread very well by word-of-mouth.
>>
>>14481040
KT is irrelevant in Ar Tonelico because the rights has already been licensed to NISA.

Now it's just up to whether NISA wants to get more dosh from an existing IP.
>>
>>14481088
I don't think NISA has the programming skills for a port, nor legal rights to resell a PS2 emulator.
>>
>>14481088
I doubt NISA would get much out of AT. Stuff like Disgaea, Persona, Neptune completely blow AT out of the water.

At best we end up with another Esty Dee as NISA tries to hype AT using the "lewd" aspects as PR.
>>
>>14480008
>One

That's very disappointing, it's still one of the better game I played this year but knowing that I'm going to take my time.
>>
>>14481040
>It doesn't spread very well by word-of-mouth.
Sometimes I wonder why that is.
>>14481182
>nor legal rights to resell a PS2 emulato
Technically, they can, I think. PCSX2 is licensed under GPL, and GPL actually full allows selling a program or bundling it with another program, including games. It's only that you must also tell the buyer about the way to get the source of the program for free, allow him to redistribute the free part of it for free, and if you change the source, it too must be licensed under GPL.
Hell, GOG regularly bundles games with DosBox, and it is an emulator too, licensed under GPL, no less. And yet nobody cares.
However, >>14481228 is still right. If you want free money, AT is the last thing you would try. There are a lot more things they can repackage and resell before they would even think of Ar Tonelico.
Also, the emulator works fine anyway.
>>
>>14481814
Oh, but using PCSX2 actually requires a copy of PS2 BIOS, now that I remember it.
So it may be that there would be some legal problems, I guess, unless they talk it over with Sony, or something.

How many different outfits are there?
>>
>>14480924
As if it hasn't been on the PC for years already. That said, it's [s]more likely[/s] less unlikely to see AT on PSN first, considering that CFW PS3s can play them just fine even using software PS2 emulator by Sony (albeit with game-specific emu settings taken from legit PSN release of Mana Khemia).
From the technical point of view it takes as much effort as packing appropriate ISOs and their CONFIGs into PS2 Classics containers, uploading them on Sony servers and putting up PS Store pages, most of which is done by Sony themselves. There's even more incentive to do this with PS4 getting backwards compatibility even in its very limited form as of now.
So some legal stuff (preventing AT from getting more popularity) must be involved here.

borked since 1416.png
265 KB, 648x507
I've just booted AT1 on PCSX2 to find out that sprites have been broken again in GSdx32@DX9 mode (along with SPU-2X becoming non-loadable on my Win2003 system, but that one is just my problem apparently).
PCSX2 v1.3.1 build 1416 is the first broken one, because switching both DLLs to build 1415 fixes both problems for me.
Can anyone else confirm/deny that build 1415 works for them too while builds 1416+ don't?

Download them from buildbot.orphis.net and unpack archives to separate folders. Go to GSdx settings and enable HW Hacks, then configure "Sprite" hack to half-checked or checked and "Round Sprite" to half-checked states (both are AT-specific hacks everyone should be using with the game either way).

I would have paid more the ps4/ps3/vita digital cross buy. I really wonder why more companies don't do that.
>>
>>14483409
its pretty much only Indie devs that do it
>>
>>14483409
Cross-buy means everyone is forced to buy a bundle of 2-3 versions of the game, and since each version takes its own development costs, everyone pays extra for the stuff they might not even want or have a device to play on. Not only the company loses potential profits from selling other versions separately, they may even lose a whole sale because the package is too expensive (as opposed to a single version of the game that one potential customer actually needed).
In an ideal world we'd have separate versions AND cross-platform bundles (or at least a discount if you already own that game on another platform) for us to choose from, but it's either you play by their rules or hack the console and stay offline, voluntarily or with a help of a magical banhammer.

>>14483309

It's a TK game rather than GUST's and Vita wasn't that dead in the West back then.

Bonus for beating Ar nosurge secret boss

Bonus 1
Wear all costumes whenever you want.

Bonus 2
In the Extras model viewer, you can angle the camera up and down.

Gee, I wonder what I'm supposed to do with this.
>>
You know how both Earthes suits have a big bulge in the crotch region? Well, maybe it's there for practical robot reasons, right? Like to hold or protect important robot parts, or to support their weight, or something.

But then when I looked at the model for Ion's last song magic, the 7th dimensional dragon, it has a big spike in its crotch region too. Obviously it's not there to fulfill some sort of physical requirement since Song magic don't have to worry about engineering, so it must be there because Ion wants it there, being born out of her mind.

Maybe Ion really has a thing for giant mechs with big crotch bulges. I'm sure there's no deeper meaning there.
>>
Playing Ciel nosurge. Definitely enjoying it.

But holy shit, so much effort into everything and they skimp out on doing lip synching.

I've bought all the Aarland series and Ayesha. But I'm hesitant to buy the rest of the Dusk series 'cause the characters aren't very cute (I'm petty like that OK? I haven't even gotten around to playing rorona).
So are they any good? And am I missing out on something really remarkable?

The Shallies are some of the cutest Atelier girls in the series. I'm not sure if it's just me but it feels like they get kind of underrated a lot. Shallie is actually my favorite Dusk game followed by Ayesha in second. Didn't care for E&L at all though.

Croix: Anyway, if you have such a good weapon, could you please support us with it?
Jacqli: This is just a toy, I can't use it in real battles.
Croix: ...So why do you carry it, anyway?
Jacqli: Cause it turns me on.

Jacqli: ...Let me tell you something.
Jacqli: This shirt is a little big on me, so if you pull it down just a little, it might fall down completely...

Jacqli: So do you like 'em big?
Croix: Like what big?
Jacqli: Breasts.
Croix: ...Are you sexually harassing me?

Croix: Oh, me? Um...
Croix: ...That kind of stuff doesn't really matter to me.
Jacqli: Oh, really... That's good.

I've only played the Arland and Dusk games but the "lewdness" has always felt about the same to me. There's not really much "lewd" in Atelier games.

I guess Plachta's outfit in Sophie is pretty lewd but I have no problems with it. These games are tasteful with their fanservice and aren't all about shoving tits in your face like some other shitty series do Senran Kagura.

I'm trying to fix this but there's a problem with the Sound Archives. According to http://vgmdb.net/album/55758 the first track is 3:59 whereas the first ripped track is 01:30. Can anyone confirm?
>>

It is that way for me. Also, it is undoubtedly the opening.
I haven't listened to the rest yet, but lengths of tracks 2-16 match the lengts of tracks 3-17 respectively (with a margin of error about a second). Then track 17 is 1:29.
At least it's how it is for me. I downloaded FLAC version from mega.

Oh, also
*2-16

*3-17

So, for example, track 9 in the zip is the same length as track 10 in the list on the site, minus a second (probably a matter of rounding or something like that).

What went wrong with Ar tonelico 3? I heard it was the worse received in the trilogy.

Nothing
People just expected some PS2ish RPG but AT3 had a weak fighting system and the graphics were 3D for the first time.
I think the third part actually was the most enjoyable.

Ar tonelico 3 itself is perfectly fine. As a game however it was just at a time where it was inconvenient. Gust had just switched over to PS3 and had no other experience other than Atelier Rorona so the game turned out.. decent but not great. Had they waited a few years I imagine the game itself would have been great.

Then again AT3 didn't have best girl join you and instead forced moeblob Saki onto you for the whole game so there's that problem too but that's just my own opinion.

>>14517696
There were three things that were quite bad in AT3:
1) the combat system - not that it's a strong point in any AT installment, but this one was clearly the weakest.
2) story-wise, the very beginning. It feels rushed, incoherent and quite confusing. It gets better quite fast, though.
3) why would anyone think that combat stripping and packing as many fetishes as possible into Finnel's cosmosphere were good ideas?

This game is by no means perfect, but it's still pretty good. People who say it's unplayable are seriously exaggerating.
>>
>>14517759
>>14517930
What are you talking about? AT3 had better graphics than whole Arland series, AT2, and arguably AT1.

I never personally mentioned graphics, I was more referring to the engine and any possible limitations that may have occurred. Take a look at Rorona. Now take a look at some of the newer Dusk games. With time and experience comes better and more developed tools, which results in a better game and this may even include graphical fidelity. They can also learn from past experiences and improve upon them, as they did with Totori.

The combat system was really mediocre in AT3 for example, that could have been improved given time and/or experience. AT3 was pushed out of the door when Gust were relatively inexperienced working with the engine and with the PS3 itself so such a problem is only natural, I just wish it'd have been delayed by a year or two so they could smooth out any problems and get a little more accustomed to the engine via their Arland games.
>>
>>14518405
It was simply a really shitty attempt at mixing tales combat with rythm game of a studio who has zero experience on either field and has nothing to do with 3d engine or ps3 hardware.
>>

>>
>>14519241
Meruru is the only Plus you can get on PS3. That is because the original version is hot garbage. You will say a bit of money with the trilogy but you might wanna consider getting them used individually.
>>

Quick programming project for newbie programmers. Try cycling through and brute forcing URLs to get all of the images.

Not really. One million is nothing in the computing world, and one computer wouldn't be fast enough to send enough requests to cause more than a blip in the server load. That's why you need the extra D in DDoS.

Looks sort of like a tuning fork, so I'd assume that you hit it and something happens. Maybe the sound produced by the tuning fork powers the magnet since songstone is supposed to produce energy from sound waves.

Now say it with me.
Miniature Ar Tonelico power source.
Grathmelding is too OP, admin, pls fix.
But then again, Croix created two of these with Synthesis too, which doesn't even have "Song Magic and tower thingies" as explanation, so maybe it's just not actually that hard to create miniature Ar Tonelico-level power source.
>>
>>14531879
Grathmelding is actually powered by Song Magic, so it's likely that the miniature Ar Tonelico's are actually powered by the real Ar Tonelico, which is powered by the Orgel of Origins, which is powered by the world from Ar nosurge, which is powered by our world, from players sending energy via the micro quasar.

Metalfalss, Sol=Marta is a satellite tower for Ar Tonelico, so it's possible that they use some kind of variant of Grathmelding. Sol=Marta is also powered by Ar Tonelico, which is why Metafalss was collapsing when you start playing AT2: Remember SUSPEND from AT1? That also shut of the power that was being sent to Sol=Marta to keep Metafalss floating.

Huh, well, they do say "There's no problem in computer science that can't be solved by applying another level of indirection", and towers do work off computer science heavily.
Also, are they? I thought the properties the item get were permanent and only dependent on direct involvement of the Tower for creation, but maybe not. Don't think anybody talked about it in the game. I just remember Grathmelding being an artificial system made by Shurelia specifically to substitute Wave Science for the population; it's basically kinda like cracking chemistry so hard you end up creating workable alchemy from it, I think.
Also, I think, "Song Magic" is only when Reyvateils specifically sing. I think, it's "Wave Science" otherwise. Might be wrong.
>Metalfalss, Sol=Marta is a satellite tower for Ar Tonelico, so it's possible that they use some kind of variant of Grathmelding.
Remember reading on the wiki that Grathmelding works only on Sol Ciel, and I think, the wiki is actually rather well kept.
In any case, it wouldn't make sense that Metafallsians don't use Grathmelding during AT2 if this was the case. Unless Synthesis is secretly Grathmelding too, somehow.
>Sol=Marta is also powered by Ar Tonelico, which is why Metafalss was collapsing when you start playing AT2: Remember SUSPEND from AT1? That also shut of the power that was being sent to Sol=Marta to keep Metafalss floating.
Knew that. Wonder if Shurelia knew exactly what she was doing when she sang the song. If she knew, that was a major bitch move on her part, really. Sure, Mir is dangerous, really dangerous at that point in the game, but entire Metafalls plummeting into the Sea of Death as sacrifice for your tower remaining calm? It's beyond radical measures. And if she didn't know, then that would be kinda weird, since it's a pretty major thing that she should have been told about.
>>
>>14532332
Song Magic probably isn't the right term. Grathmelding is definitely powered by Symphonic Power via Ar Tonelico though.

From the Toukousphere:

Grathmeld was a system Sis (Shurelia) designed, right? That system only has a range that covers the entire Wings of Horus plus a little of the areas around them, so it isn't used in Metafalss. The concept of Grathmeld is "By mixing in Grathnode Crystals on manufactured items, the Silver Horn can recognize the natural laws of the crystals, making it is possible to give them effects corresponding to their materials". Therefore, the Grathnode Crytsals work as barcodes, which ask the Silver Horn "Please, give this material this power!"
The synthesis used in Metafalss can't add in special effects from external materials like Grathmeld can, so it's just normal manufacturing and cooking, and that's why it's called "Synthesis". Got it?

So no Grathmelding in Metalfalss.

>Wonder if Shurelia knew exactly what she was doing when she sang the song.
She gets lost in her own tower. Even if she is the administrator, she isn't a very good one.
>>
>>14532332
>I thought the properties the item get were permanent and only dependent on direct involvement of the Tower for creation
Also from Toukousphere:

Lady Shurelia, the items made with Grathmelding can continue working even if they are taken to a place very far away from the Silver Horn?
And the effects these items have are endowed magic, the magic is used only during the creation of the item, or the items continue receiving a supply of magical effects from the Silver Horn after their creation...?
If it's the latter, wouldn't the long distance airships made from Grathmeld break apart in mid-air once they go beyond the effect area of the Silver Horn...? (doesn't laugh)
(Tram (former Croart))

It's true that the effects of Grathmelding can only manifest inside the effect area of the Silver Horn. It's basically the same as cellphone that loses signal strength the farther away it gets from a transmission antenna.
However, the Silver Horn has a very large effect area, which covers the entirety of the Wings of Horus, so there isn't any place in Sol Ciel where the effects of the items made with Grathmelding can't manifest.
However, if you went a great distance away from the Wings of Horus, its influence would weaken considerably.
Theoretically, a faint effect of the Silver Horn's power should remain active no matter how far away you take the item, but there is no doubt that in the case of items that require a great amount of power to work, such as airships, they would break up.
However, this is purely hypothetical, as there haven't been any people flying off to the outer world ever since the Third Era started.

>You you talk to Ion regularly?

>Add to the Quaser every day?

>>
>>14532412
I believe she used Jakuri? Plus, you can always use non-Grathmelded airships, like the ships in AT2 or AT3.
>>
>>14532415
>How do I make Nelico visit more often?
Send Ion out on requests, then forward the time to around 5~ or so minutes until she gets back and leave the vita sitting until Nelico comes (I think this should get her to come).

You need to leave a couple of days between each visit though. If it has been 3 or 4 days and Nelico still doesn't come for a visit then you would be missing some sort of trigger.

I didn't know this until much later, so I had a long break of not progressing the story around chapter 10 while I was triggering Nelico events (and doing all dates etc in preparation for marriage).
>>
>>14532401
>She gets lost in her own tower. Even if she is the administrator, she isn't a very good one.
Actually, I think she's pretty decent comparatively.
"Getting lost in her own tower" is just a result of a bug, so it's not like it's something she can actually change about herself, especially considering she basically has an unchanging personality.
But throughout history of Sol Ciel, she was always there for her subjects, and whenever stuff went bad, she was in the front rows fixing it and making all kinds of decisions about how she should act to preserve the tower. Sometimes her decisions might have been stupid or harmful in long-term, but everybody makes these from time to time, and it's not like she stuck to them when proven they didn't work. Her overall involvement was more positive, I think.
Compare that to Metafalls, where Frelia, even if it wasn't entirely her fault, basically created Metafalls and then did basically nothing until AT2 and just a few things in AT2 too. Hell, things got so bad in her absence Jakuri was absolutely sure the Goddess of Metafalls actively hates all of her subjects. Sure, Frelia was asleep for most of that time, I think, but as the result all the problems of Metafalls basically split between people helping themselves, who basically did most of the legwork but screwed up quite a lot in the process because of having to act with incomplete information, and her servants, who somehow screwed up even more, casually greenlighting Hibernation, trying to kill a Maiden at the exact worst time for it and allowing usurpation to happen, all without even once calling for Frelia's opinion. I like Frelia, but it's really hard to screw up the whole Administrator job as hard as she did.
AT3 I did not play yet, so not sure if Tyria is more competent than Shurelia. Kinda doubt it.
Actually, now that we talk about it, what is the exact timeline of Frelia's power naps and kidnappings? I'm not even sure. I'm kinda confused on that.
>>
>>14532437
You can check the wiki for a comprehensive summary, but IIRC Frelia was there originally to create the second tower, but her dance was interrupted due to the Grathnode Inferia so the tower was never completed. Frelia more or less cold slept all the way until AT2 since she was bored of being unable to complete her purpose of completing the tower.
>>
>>14532463
The wiki says she told Raki "to not wake her up until they could return to land or continue creating the tower".
I wonder why Raki never woke her up, and wasn't there a perfectly functioning staircase even then, not hidden by Infel yet? And didn't "Jaza" basically go back to the land when she decided she needed to, without problems? And how did the Maidens get her HD Cellophane, unless it was already on Metafalls from the very beginning, even when she sang to create the tower? If not, they would've needed to take it off her, which would be hard without waking her up.
Why were they trapped on Sol Marta in the first place?
Hell, even if we assume they only became untrapped during the revolution of Infel, which would be really weird, why didn't Raki wake her up then to ask her what should they do about it?
It's really confusing. If she wasn't trapped, then going to sleep in the first place was kinda irresponsible, considering how important she is. If she was trapped, she really should have been woken up a lot sooner than AT2. I'm confused.
Maybe the staircase was invisible when she created the tower too? But that would be weird. Why would she create it and then afterwards make it immediately invisible, when she could've used it?
I'm trying to understand it, but her actions and actions of her servants throughout AT2 always seemed really confusing to me. I don't really get why they did half the things he did.
Hell, why did Shun try to kill Cloche in his very first scene, for that matter? What was his problem? Did she think Maidens of Mio were just generally bad news and didn't consider that they were created for a reason? Did he basically take "declaration of war" as "I'm a soldier, I should kill an enemy general and get a medal for it, no need to talk with Frelia about what she thinks or explain to anybody why the Goddess is important"? Did he basically even keep up with Infel's research at all, how much did he even understand about what Hibernation is and why it was greenlighted and Metafallica dropped?
This all is really confusing.

1. Unlock first card.

3.5. You might have to do this a lot of times until she gets through all of her triggered conversations if you haven't been talking with her often.
4. Profit!

There is a local dealer selling the Limited edition of Ar tonelico 3 without the game. Should i take the plunge?

Without the game? So, essentially just the art book and the sound track selections. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for that, and I like having Gust sound track CDs to use as background music. If you are a collector who already has the game it might be worth a bit more. The best parts of the Ar Tonelico series, the songs, other than the opening song, don't appear on the sound track CDs.

I'd go for it if the box and contents are in good shape. Easy enough to just put your current copy into the LE box.
