More like slowly winding down. It won't actually die as long as ZUN keeps putting out new content. Reitaisai is still healthy. The most popular official things right now are the mangas, not the games.
Touhou may be declining in Japan but the US fans seem as strong as ever.

Touhou dying might be an opportunity for some of us to move on with our lives and do something new. I'm turning into an old fuck who hates memes and fandoms of all kinds, so I'm kind of glad that the game is going downhill. I sort of wish I had left this site back when Chris the Cuck quit.
