First things first I would need to find means to defend myself in such a new world. Magic would be preferable and I already have an idea of how I want to use it to achieve eternal life without forsaking my humanity. The only real question is where to begin. Breaking into Patchouli's library isn't feasible, Marisa does own a magic store so she might have something, the Human Village has minor magicians and fortune tellers that may have something useful.

The only ones with jobs are at the SDM, they do bugger all whike Sakuya does pretty much everything, they all get free food and can quit when they want. Add in Hong's unifprm and the red association with the mansion and it's pretty much the most socialist place there is.
Eientei is close too, free medical care and low cost is probably just covering the drugs.
Your best bet for socialism would be the Tengu, given they have a confirmed caste system. Crows report, wolves protect and long noses remain on the mountain working on gps.

I'm off to solve the energy crisis and become the richest man in the world while educating fairies to become the venture capitalists that their quasi-Irish heritage demands.
In fact, befriending a decently strong fairy like Cirno or Lily White is an ideal starting point, as they lack the agendas of most of the human characters, have identifiable places within the Human Village that don't require you to trek across untamed wilderness (Shaved Ice Stand, Lily White just visits whenever) are fairly easy to persuade due to their low intelligence, and obviously won't eat you like a youkai, with the added benefit that they'll likely be the only people that understand your non-Nipponese speaking rear.
And for the record, Cirno can regulate her body temperature; after a spellcard battle or anything else that requires her to use lots of ice, she becomes warm enough to safely touch.
