To teach you how special she is. Look at Gensokyo, here lots of people love youkai and would gladly move there. Humans born there dont realize how great youkai are and only see negatives. We can only fully appreciate 2hu from the outside, if you were born there you wouldnt be wowed by magic or see how youkai make life more fun.
Just look at Reimu v Sanae, Reimu doesnt enjoy things as much as Sanae who supposedly feels like a hero in a videogame, Reimu doesnt seem to enjoy being a shrine maiden at all.
My point is, if you were born there your view would be different, you may not like Marisa or may even dislike her for some reason.
Marisa is such a great thief she can even steal the hearts of people from another dimension.
