Silicone casting is much more commercially viable, is often simpler and isn't too bad with temperatures. Molds are simple and flexible enough for everyone to use as long as you aren't a hamhanded idiot.
You will have a hard time getting good results with any random thermoplastic without letting it cool properly. Your best bet with thermoplastics will be to machine two halves and inject material under pressure, or else you are bound to get bubbles and deformities. You need equipment for good results. Best to use silicone. Make a master positive from clay/print and make a lot of negatives. Include a high bed for a base so you can fill the base without worry.
