I always thought it'd be something as a combination of dogs and pigeons, the higher class one recievong good treatment while others are ignored or shooed at most of times unless they mess with humans.

I'd say dogs/cats, I feel like the ability for them to vocalize their feelings and thoughts would put them pretty high on the "safe" list in most countries, though others wouldn't give a shit and eat them anyway.

I've always felt like Yukkuri are more or less cats. Potential to be very cute. Potential to be assholes. Often care for themselves and expect their owner to take care of their needs, But can also show love and be comfy/relaxing,
The fact that they can think and speak and appear to have the intelligence of a small child indicates to me that they probably would not get slaughtered wholesale like they do in many of these comics.
Of course some places eat dogs and cats anyway but still.

A wild Nue is different than her counterpart. She can become any yukkuri that she has killed in the past (although she also adopts their personality and it can be difficult to become yukkuri Nue again if she becomes a Cirno or really stupid common). They live very long and can become bodied, turn themselves into the real Nue and eventually can turn themselves human (flesh and blood not paste) and take on the body of whomever they want without killing them. in real life, if yukkuri suddenly existed, they'd be classified as the second most intelligent species on earth and probably have some degree of rights, as absurd as that might sound. despite how selfish and shitty they're normally depicted as, they still have a degree of sapience and self-awareness higher than any non-human animal, and are also capable of speech and so forth.
there's no way it'd be legal or really even ethical to treat them like pests as they are in the comics, so you should probably be glad they're not real as it'd be the most infuriating thing ever to have to deal with them.

Something would inevitably have to be done about them because of their absurd reproductive rate. The only reason they aren't just a massive swarm of "Yu"s in cities is because they get killed with almost every interaction with humans. If that ever stopped they would reproduce and reproduce until they are literally everywhere. And if the comics are anything to go off of then most of them would be annoying shitheads. Ah I just read through the rest of the thread, I don't want to sound mean or anything but the translation is half okay, I could probably try to fix it up so it's more understandable in english but it'd probably mean that some parts will have little to do with the original. Thanks anyway for the translations!
