If you really feel the need to min-max, go with Maple or Euonymus for their 1.2x skill chance abilities, Bride Oncidium or Acacia for a great combination of party attack buffs and enemy attack debuffs (20%/-10% for Acacia, 15%/-15% for Oncidium) or Dendrobium for 2x chance for her own skill on the first turn.

Nah, silvers aren't especially useful. They're considerably better than bronze girls when you're just starting out, but you will eventually cycle them out for event golds (which are easy to get since there are 4+ events running at the same time now) and later gacha golds.
It's good to keep one copy of each for collection purposes, though. It's not like you're strapped for character slots.

The greatest change is in the number of ranunculids, since we had only one (Anemone) for half a year and got no less than seven new additions in rapid succession - indeed, if you count Wolfsbane for Primrose's event, we actually had a 14-week streak where a new ranunculid was added to the game with each batch of girls. Almost every group that had a single girl also got a second representative during this period: Snake Gourd in the cucumber family (with Pumpkin), Hoya in the dogbane family (with Dipladenia), Lisianthus in the gentian family (with Gentian), Veronica in the plantain family (with Snapdragon), Ardisia and Primrose in the primrose family (with Cyclamen), Sinclairiana in the acanthus family (with Justicia), Wintersweet in magnoliids (with Magnolia) and Pine and Fir in conifers (with Hinoki), so I'm inclined to think that they're actively considering flower diversity when introducing new girls.
New groups introduced during the past four months include Boraginaceae (Heliotrope and Forget-me-Not), Cannabaceae (Hop), Xanthorrhoeaceae (Aloe), Laurales (Wintersweet), Chloranthales (Sarcandra), Celastrales (Euonymus, which also complates the Celastrales-Oxalidales-Malpighiales set in FKG) and Saxifragales (Bergenia, Moutan Peony and Garden Peony). Rafflesia is popular in 2ch threads too, from what I can see, but it's somewhat out of bounds for FKG since it has no well-recognized flower meaning. It's possible that it could pop up as an enemy, though, like Nepenthes did in Agave's LN.
But I suppose a Rafflesia-themed knight could work as a beautiful but lazy ojou-sama who relies on Tetrastigma (a maid or childhood friend?) for everything from bathing to dressing herself, since Rafflesia is completely incapable of surviving on its own and must use its host to fuel its majestic bloom. In fact, that could work on a whole bunch of parasite/host pairs too, like broom/broomrape, beech/beechdrops and thyme/dodder-of-thyme (or Mistletoe could get an elder sister in Sandalwood, which is both hemiparasitic and has "calmness, serenity" as its flower meaning, so it could work well for a girl who is graceful in public and capable at her job as a knight, but also unable to cook, clean or otherwise take care of herself in private).

On Nutaku or DMM?
On Nutaku, Aigis is almost unplayable because events are much less frequent than they should be. I don't know how it retains players, since logging in to do Phalanx 2/Oasis over and over again is pretty much an exercise in masochism.
On DMM, they give you a lot of things to do, so that the players remain engaged, but if you still find it boring while playing on DMM, maybe the game isn't for you. Despite its tower defense exterior, it's still a standard grindfest browser game, after all.

Yes. One way is to gimp teams 1 and 3 and not use a fourth team at all, so that your second and ally teams hit the web section.

Mission 5 is the worst, 6 a little but not to much.
