I have always wanted to go to a Maid Café in Japan. I am always looking up reviews, videos, ect. Please post pics, stories or anything Maid Cafe relates and tell if its worth the hype or not.

If you're going, you'll probably want to get dessert instead of a meal, or with one. It's usually about the dessert for these places.

On my last day on Japan, I got a flier for a military café. Sounded interesting, wanted to know if they played different personalities there, like the meek and unsure boot to the angry and always shouting drill instructor, but didn't have the time.
Think the name was something like... Trigger Happy? In Akiba.

Stay away from Akihabara main chains (maidreamin / @home). They're over-expensive, you have a high chance to be in one with others tourists too. Can hardly call them maid "café" anymore, the customer turnaround is so crazy that it looks more like a factory churning tourists than anything. Maids are rotating also, you don't get to keep her at your side for the whole hour.
I would advise to pick a smaller one (not part of a chain) and outside busy areas of Tokyo. I went to one near Tsutsujigaoka Station (near Chofu), was a very small café, only 3 maids. I don't have the address anymore sadly, could even have closed since then.
Only 1 customer was there, I went there with a friend/colleague of mine (female) and we had 2 maids for us. Had lot of fun and discussed about video games, anime and about their job/life. They weren't cringy maids doing moeshit. The owner was away so they let us took picture for free (typically you get charged for that). We only paid 2,000 yens together for one hour including the drink/ice cream and with several pictures pictures for 2 persons.
In Akiba the same "package" would have cost us ~5,000 yens. They don't give a fuck at maidreaimin if you are a guy or a girl and if you go there with a friend you won't get 2 maids assigned just for you. It feels too "forced" and too much a business.

That's just called a normal café. You have these in Japan where waitress are wearing traditional maid outfit and behave "highly". You get your tea/cake served in fancy cups/plate with silverware. I know Shinjuku have some of these. Expect to pay 800~1,000 yens for a coffee or tea and that much as well for a small cake.

Nothing wrong with Maidreamin in Akiba. I went there and it was fun, maid sang for me, blessed my food and everything. Group of friendly Japanese were there and invited me to their table to chat. They gave me copies of the group picture we took. All enough fun for one trip.
Don't be a sperg like the faggot anon I am replying to. Also, don't expect for the food to be any good. It's basically public school lunch quality. No one goes for the food anyway.

I guess I'll tell you guys my story.
