I've always been curious regarding the canon color of Ran's hat. It seems to be pink in some works, but the first official portrait that you posted seems to use the same shading and lighting as her dress. Whatever the case, I'm glad 99% of artists just draw it white.

Coloring on that old Zun picture looks much worse, less detailed, hair looks absolutely different, alphes shading has this distinct shades shape for everything. Besides Zun doesn't do this two-tone shading thing like Alphes does.

Their shading and coloring (especially on her apron) are easily their most similar aspect, followed by their hair. If you're comparing faces, then none of IN, PoFV or MoF are close.

I have a soft spot for all the different poses he made for Reimu and Marisa in EoSD, the ones of Reimu doing something like the Rock's "bring it on" pose or the one where she is enjoying the night breeze are cute
His current art might be more technically impressive but I'm not a fan of how they're all just locked into one pose, with changing faces. For sonething like IN with all its player characters i understand but in LOLK it just looks bad, Reimu in particular is stuck in some awkward battle pose
The older art had a kind of rough charm too it even if it resulted in funny shit like Remi throwing fucked up gang signs
